  1. I am using the Penzoil synchromesh from Auto zone. I too have read where few folks are using the LS in their 5600's, but thats about all I know about it. I cant seem to get any info other than the few threads I have seen.
  2. Today was declared CFA day by Mike huckabee on face book I believe. The store operator for my site has been here for 5 weeks hiring out of a trailer. At 11 am he received an email from their Corparate office asking any and all CFA personell to go to ther home or any CFA restaraunt to help, due to the large outpouring of suppport, not for Dan cathy's opinion on marriage, but for everyones right to be able to express their opinion. They will break a sales record to day that I dont think any restaraunt chain has ever seen. The mall store next to us ran out of food near 8pm tonight. They were having to go to grocery stores for products today. Lines wer backed up all across the country, not just for their food but to standup for the right to speak your mind. Last time I checked we do still have that right. From what i saw on the internet, all of these folks just stood quietly in line and voted with there wallets. While not a deeply religous man in my own right, I do respcet the rights of others to have their own opinions. You can live the lifestle you want and never hear me complain to you about it. All I ask is the same from anyone else. I do not make moral decisions for any one. There is only one Man you will answer to for that.
  3. I have a mechanical gauge install in the cab with no isolator. I prefer it that way. It is installled in a 3 gauge pod on the A pillar. I use a needle valve installed into the fuel line as an isolater, and it is barely cracked open for the gaguge to read the pressure. Like Katoom says, it is a personal prefrence. The needle valve does give me the option of turning the fuel oof to the gauge if a leak starts. I also have drilled a small hole in the pod for the gauge in case it does start leaking. This allows me to see it before I have to smell it leaking into the carpet and behind the dash. Pure mechanical is better in my opinion, but fuel in the cab is a personal choice.
  4. I slowed down on my last trip from Columbia Tn to West Des moines Ia. I usually drove 70 to 75 with the 5th wheel. I dropped to 65 max and pickede up near 14% on milage. From 9.8 or 9.9 to 11.35 mpg. My trailer weighs in at near 15k and is just under 13' tall. Weight does make a differance, but I believe the height compounds the weight. I dont know how much, but pulling 15k on a flat bed vs 15k at 13' tall has got to make a considerable differance. Tha is my humble opinion.
  5. Thru my entire relationship with CFA, They are all about good food, good service and do have about the most polite empoyess you will come across. They dont give a hoot about any persuasion you mihgt be. They have their religous values, but dont push them on anyone. It is those same values that keeps them from holding any thing against any body who walks in there doors. They treat all the same. The protesters have come back the past couple days, all one or two of them. They stand out there with there little sgns for a couple hours and leave. Maybe they are saving their breath for grand opening, who knows.
  6. I am seeing 18 to 20 on mine. 20 if I stay under 70, 18 under 80. The truck is about 7500#. My foot is a little on the heavy side also. I used to have a V10 also. I could get 11 to 12 on the highway but usually 8 to 9 on average. It was fun to drive but I am glad I did not own when gas shot up.
  7. I have managed to get 20mpg out of mine on the highway, That is running 65 to 70 mph. If I step out over 70 it goes down to 18 to 18.5. I am happy with that. A 7500 pound tuck getting that kind of milage is not a bad thing. Sure, I would like to get 20+, but with my limited time at home i dont want to spend an extra 2 hours getting there. I did slow down towing the trailer,65 max and picked up about 1.5 mpg by staying 65 and under. I went from 9.8 or 9,9 to 11.35 for the trip to Iowa from Tenn. My V10 2500 got 12mpg highway and 4.5 towing on the highway. So i am happy.
  8. I forgot about the differant canisters. Mine comes in the side and out the bottom. The fittings in the bigline kit are much larger than the stock banjo bolts and the holes that are in the bolts. Still not 1/2" though.Jasvan, you should not have any problem going thru the canister. The big line kit is a great improvement over the stock set up.
  9. That is pretty much what I was expecting. Are we just hauling a few limbs in the 1500 instead of a large tree in the Cimmins?
  10. Correct me if I am wrong 98, The big line kit comes with 1/2 line, but the fittings on the canister are smaller diameter. Mine were maybe 3/8". I belive that is due to the threaded inlet and outlet on the oe cansister. I hope one day to have time to take mine off and see if it is possible to enlarge them.
  11. We had to get the prious there somehow. - - - Updated - - - Well if the protestors(all 2 of them) had not come by, I probably would not have even brought it up. Any entertainment on the job is good.
  12. Why do I feel the picture you will post tomorrow is not what we might expect? Just a feeling I have.
  13. 3? sounds like you might be busy tonight.
  14. As many of you know I build chick-fil-a restarunts for a living. The president of CFA was interviewed the other day and was asked what his opinion on marriage was. I cant quote him, but he stated that he beleieved in marriage in the biblical sense, one man and one woman, his opinion. The *** and lesbian and whatever have picked up on this and have branded cfa as an anit *** company. We had a local news channel by yesterday trying to interview folks just of site and in my opinion just try to stir some controversy up. This morning 2 people showed up with signs stating that cfa was an anti *** company and they stood on the corner for about 3 hours. I guess they got discouraged after standing there that long and less than a dozen cars honked to show their appreciation or maybe just their middle finger, I was to busy to see which. It just never ceases to amaze that people who want to preach tolarence are so intolarant to any one who has a differant opinion than ther own.
  15. Very well stated. I could not add anything to that. - - - Updated - - - Very well stated. I could not add anything to that.
  16. OK, First wood in months.Who's got the screamin beaver?I left this alone for too long.
  17. I agree with the fuel pressure being low. Have you changed the filter lately? Mine would run rough at WOT with a dirty filter, but no tach issues. That would make me think and bad ck sensor also.
  18. Speak for yourself Mopar Man.:lmao:some of us are electronically challanged.
  19. What kind of fuel pressures are you seeing from the Raptor? Idle and WOT. I had similar issues when my lift pump was going bad and boosting the fuel pressure helped alot. I am not fimiliar with the wire you speak of for boost fooling the ECM. My banks system does it in the tuner and is only connected to the MAP sensor thru the wiring harness.I am also not sure how anyone tests a VP. I have seen several folks that have had that done, but I am not sure any one can check it with out the Bosch test bench. I think $700 and nothing is fixed would gall me pretty bad.I am by far not the expert in this area, but I am sure some one will straighten me out if I a wrong. The 216 is not neccessarily a death code for the VP.
  20. Lots of helium in the right shoe, or a rock under the throttle. I cant seem to find either.
  21. Teh mad shifter got my vote. always liked that photo.
  22. I am using the oe harnes for the lift pump to provide activation and the power for the pump is coming from the alternator.
  23. Is it possible this is an old code? Try clearing it and see if it comes back.
  24. Sorry to here that Tom. Me and the chicken folks are nearing the same conclusion to our relationship also I believe.
  25. could just be the isolator beat up by the vp pulsing. You will know when you put the test gauge on it.
