  1. The relay for my ADII plugs into the oe harness for control. Power is supplied from my alternator. Works very well on mine.
  2. My cowl is rather full with my stuff.
  3. Does anyone know of any drawbacks in connecting the AD to the alternator?
  4. Pepsi, I need a little help on how you came with with a trailer weight of +or- 30k#. I can't quite grasp your math.
  5. the heater is in the water in the block. it will warm the block and I would think anything that is in it, water and the oil. The oil in the pan would be a differant story. I would think it would still be cold.
  6. It helps replace the lubricity in the new ULSD sold today. The vp was designed with the older diesel fuel in mind and that is where it gets it lubrication from. I am sure others can explain this in greater detail than I.
  7. Rotella since new here. I don't see any reason to change now.
  8. I not so sure about the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton drive line being that close to each other. But when abought mine back in 01 they dealer only had 2 dually's on the lot, both with autos. Dodge rated them at 16k truck and trailer. Mine with the 6 speed was rated at 20k, the 5 speed might be the same. At the time i had heard stories of the dodge autos not being up par and that is the main reason i wanted the manual. I had always assumed it was the tranny that made the beiggest differance. Did Dodge put a lesser drive shaft and rear end in the autos also? It just doesn't make sense especially in a dually?
  9. A good while back I ran Kleen diesel Cetane booster and what ever else it claim(+mpg was one). I never saw any differance in any thing good ar bad. I think i ran it for maybe 6 months or less and quit. I did not seem to deliver anything. I also did not know much of anything at the time about how this diesel works. I do now thanks to this site.
  10. Ashless is always what i have heard.
  11. the dealer is:wink:the banker is:lol:the insurance adjuster is:lmao:. You paid how much?I am with you on the mirrors Bob.
  12. Well that covers one cube. the other one is just gravy. QCLB with camper package.
  13. No tow mirrors. I cant bid on that. In my mind anywayReality says:broke:Very nice truck. I remember when mine looked like that.
  14. I goota eat alittle crow here. Though i had never noticed any pressure drop while the grids were cycling, I watched mine closely yesterday and this morning and sure enough there was a change. When they come on I loose about 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound of pressure. Just never noticed before.
  15. Aim for the bug.
  16. I have heard of them before but did not relly understand what it was until now. that is pretty cool. Hope I never need one.
  17. Same here. I was standing by the truck with my son, engine running and as the oil made its way into the engine i noticed it getting quieter and remarked on same to my son. He stood there looking at me :cookoo:thinking i was out of my mind. I really did not expect any one to notice it but me. but the look on his face was priceless.
  18. I bought a new about 2.5 years ago when mine starting clicking. AZ or AA dont rember. But the new cost $95 and the rebuilt cost $100, or there abouts, anyway the new one was cheaper and looked better and i bought it. Think it had a life time warranty but I lost the receipt.
  19. Slobbered on. thats pretty good.
  20. Always knew they made plastics from petroleum, but to turn it back is pretty slick. I think i might need to see more before i poured liquid plastic in my tank though.Jordan, i have slapped that dam bug of your 1500 times and it wont die.
  21. Not taken that way at all. I would have been thinking BS if I had not just done it. My 96 was a standard 3/4 ton. It probably would have squatted with one cube. my 02 has the camper package with overloads and i think an extra spring in the pack, but i am not sure of that. the E rated tire were a little beyond there rating. Not sure i want to do that again unless I am in a pinch like the other day.
  22. I would have to believe him. I just hauled 1080 brick at aproximately 5.5#s each. That,s 5940# and mine did not squat. true the suspension was loaded awfully hard. you tell any time you hit a bump. it did drive good but was light on the front end. My 96 with no overloads would not have touched it.
  23. My return from the engine and the pump both empty into the basket and i am confident that is why i can suck the tank dry, or close any way. i gues i should have included that in the above.
  24. Do they build them to set specifacation or do you help them set what gets done or not. I seem to remember you saying that you offered pumps with and without new computers. Just curious of what gets done on a rebuild.
  25. I am not knocking the draw straw. When I installed my AD it came with a kit to replace the in tank pump that i had and my fuel pick up is in the fuel tank basket. So far i have never sucked up an air bubble and can run the tank pretty much dry. I have put 35 gallons in it twice i believe. I think you have to have the in tank pump for that kit to work. the basket is a differant design than the oe. That is probably the only good thing to come of that $900 is spent at the dealer.
