  1. understood. i appreciate the concern. i have always had trouble with operating temp in really cold weather since i bought it in 01. highway driving no problem, intown and idle it cools quickly.
  2. it is 3.20 to 3.30 here in western tenn as of yeaterday. sounds like a bargain compared to alot of you.
  3. I get better milage when my water temp is closer to 190. have had a lot of trouble getting there in a cold winter though. i am lucky to get 160 in the coldest part of the winter. i have winter fronts on and just installed a new tstat. the tsta helped the most, but still hard to maintain 190. it dont mean nothing since it sittin in the shop right now.
  4. thats $200 or $300 less than i couldfind 6 months ago when the oem crapped out.
  5. that does sound pretty cool. did not realize it was that sophisticated. thought you might be able to unplug it and not unsplice it. my banks systems just unplugs and i am back to stock. easy to eliminate it as a problem. wish i could be more help.
  6. have you tried disconnecting the alarm and remote starter to see if it starts normaly? the problem could be in that system.
  7. i just spoke to the shop tha has my truck. he is telling me the ecm is toast. He says his obdIII would not communicate with the truck until he disconnected the ecm and when he plugged it back in he lost communication. communication with everything else was good while the ecm was disconnected. i dont know alot about this stuff, but it sounds logical and if you saw the computer the rebuilder gave me you would understand. weather tightness is questionable. he quoted me $1000 for a computer from dodge which is cheaper than they quoted me. i am going to send the rebuilt one back plug in make sure it works then put it up for emergency. got a 5 year warranty on it. already used it once and it took 5 weeks to get it back. what thought s might any of you have on this?
  8. mine has set many codes without turning on the CEL. pretty much always check with an OBDII and more than half the time would fing an addditional code. corect me if i am wrong disconnecting the batteries will NOT erase any of the codes. Never worked on mine.
  9. lets hope so. keeping my fingers crossed.
  10. well guys, sorry for the delay. had to call a tow truck about 2 and put it in the shop. had to get back to work and had no where to put it to work on it. i checked every fuse, played musical chairs with my relays and looked over all the connections i could find. even went over the grounds again. did not have a lot of fuel but the cannister was full. not alot i could do sitting on the side of the road 500 miles from home. found a local guy who works on partner's ford. seems fimiliar with the ccd system. i hope he is for my wallets sake. appreciate all the response and will let you know what happens.
  11. i bought a valair rated for 400hp and 800 lbs. got it for $312 to my door. i do pull a 5th wheel about 3000 miles a year. never had any trouble with the oem clutch, its just about worn out. trying not to be too cheap don,t want to have to this again any time soon. thanks
  12. i cant seem to find the c126 connector. does any body no what it is near. cant seem to find it on the fire wall or near the ecm. i take it the s172 and 3 are splices in the wiring harness.
  13. every thing seems to be working. engine turns over but does not start, all lights working inside and out. the only thing odd when the engine shut down the tach never droppede to 0. it is at 0 now. going to check relay now no blown fuses. swapped relays and still have horn and no running engine.
  14. I am sitting on thew side of the road with no power. every thing works but the engine want run. it just shut down while driving. I have a p1694 and that is all. any body got any ideas of where to start?
  15. lowes, home depot, hardware stores all sell many kinds of timers. simple ones set the same time for everyday and the fancy ones you can set on a day to day schedule. just depends on what you want ot spend.
  16. i used to get 400 miles on a tank with my V10, highway, unloaded, 35 gallon tank.
  17. time might be my only problem on the fly wheel. if i get the time i would rather just have it turned.I bought a valair clutch fron thorobred diesel for 314 to my door and it comes with a pilot bearing, should that be sufficient? do any of you know where Valeo is made? finished rebuilding my fornt end on christmas eve. upper and lowers, all new tierods, track bar, u joints, brakes:hyper:. mike you will be proud that i didnot have to use 2X4's or nascar string to align. i left a day late for work and went to the alighnment shop and discount tire for new tires. thats why my budget for the clutch is small. appreciate the help guys.
  18. i am going to be replacing my clutch soon. my budget is limited. i found a really good deal on a Valeo flywheel at auto parts wharehouse. $152 and change. does anyone no any thing about either the seller or Valeo?
