Troubleshooting dead end on dead pedal. Apologize for a long thread in advance
lift pump maybe. earlier you said you had replaced a few. how old is the one you have now? is it the oem style? do you have any fuel pressure to the vp44?

Looking for turbo idea's
my hx35 connects to the down pipe thru an elbow bolted to the back of exhaust housing. there is no clamp holding anything together.

Troubleshooting dead end on dead pedal. Apologize for a long thread in advance
you are welcome sir. my truck is a manual and i get gear in and out feeling, just something that loads the engine. might feel that way in an auto, dont know. it should not affect your apps though since it operates on 5 volts(someone correct me if i am wrong abotu that). as far as your batteries if you test them while they are connected you will only be as good as your worst battery. testing them disconnecte is the right way, and if you did have them both disconnected you do need to resest your apps. just connect the batteries, turn the switch the on position, truck not running, slowly depress and release the throttle and turn it off. it is reset:hyper:. sorry it took so long to get back with you. --- Update to the previous post... mike, for the first 8 years i had my truck the heaters would pull my voltage down as low as 9 volts and dimthe heck out of the lights:stuned:. i just thought that was normal after it was explained to me what it was. did that until my ecm took a crap. with the rebuilt one it might pull it down to 11 and they cycle quickly and turn off quickly. totally different behavior now. does that first description sound like yours 1?

Looking for turbo idea's
i have a banks ottomind tuner, their quick turbo with big head waste gate and see 33 to 34 pounds in 4th 5th and 6th not quite as high in the lower gears unless i am pulling. would it not be difficult to get higher pressures with a waste gate that opens at 25 psi? as i remember my waste gate is supposed to open at 35.

HY35 to HX35 swap

that sounds like your grid heaters in your intake. they will cycle on and off when you first start your truck. mine has always done this especially in cold weather, though i experience no rpm change only the sound of the engine going form load to no load due to the amp draw on the alternater. they draw alot of electrical power. ISX is right about your batteries they should be changed in matched pairs. when you checked the voltage, were both batteries still connected to the truck? by the welcome to the site. you will get alot of good info here.

Happy Birthday ISX

Oil Change
ive run 15-40 in mine since it was new in temps down to 0, dont see that very often it depends on where i am working. let it warm up just as MM says before driving. pugging it in helps also. mine has never refused sart or been hard to start even down to 0 pugged in or not.

Any Procedures For Testing an ABS Wheel Sensor?
rockauto.com has them for $50. i dont know aything about the quality versus what you found. i have bought a few things from them in the past and have not had any problems yet.

fuel tank
right proud of them arent they?

fuel tank
if i fill up when my fuel light comes on ther is still 5 to 7 gallons left in the tank. my 96 V10 had a 35 gallon tank. at 12 mpg it neede a 60m gallon tank:lmao:

Yet another 2001 Dodge cummins fuel pump question
my fuel gauge still reads fine. i can put it in the red no problem. about 3 or 4 years ago the dealer installed an in tank pump for my failed lift pump on the engine. it changed the way my gauge would read. i can still put it in the red but not very long. i sarted setting my trip odometer after each fill up and use that to cnfirm what my fuel gauge is telling me. ran out once but that was my fault. try to strectch it a little to far:shrug:

looking for smokeythedodge or anyone else CRUISE CCONTROL
sounds like i need to come to your place and use some of those spares you have laying around. not many laying around my house. i have replaced the clockspring. the ecm is newly rebuilt. problem started after the ecm was installed and the truck was running again. just replaced both front wheel bearings with speed sensors. do you know what sensors feeds info the the cruise?
-
p0112 and p0237 same time bad ecm??
i would have to agree with mopar. when my ecm went out i got high and low voltage dtc,s form all of my sensors, temp gauge was all over the place just a crap load of stuff that happened all at once. the only people i saw who would test the ecm were a couple of rebuilders, dont remember who they were. you can search the internet and find them pretty easy. just to be honest i am not a genuis when it comes to the electronics on these trucks. i learned alot from these guys while dealing with my problems

new dash?

looking for smokeythedodge or anyone else CRUISE CCONTROL
i was checking thru some old threads looking to see if anyone had dealt with the problem i am having. i saw a thread that smokey posted to about his cruise back in august. so if your are out there smokey let me know how you fixed it. my cruise light is lit whenever the truck is on and none of the controls function. the controls all seem to be working mechanicaly(easy to push and you canffeel the swithces operating as they have for the past 9 years). i replaced the clockspring while trying to diagnose other problems i had in the past. i even went back and reverse the wires to the controls just in case i had them backwards. no change. the only code i have is P500 and from what i have read today i am not going to sweat that since i spun my rear tires a couple of times the other day. everythig else seems to be working porperly except the cruise. are you out there smokey?
