  1. They will be different but how much I dont know. i think you would have to compare them side by side. The auto tranny does have wiring connections the manuals do not.
  2. I have never seen on of those before. Made in the USA or not I dont know. As bad as mine was I would all the staples on one job. New replacement was the best for me. I dont have a clue what that $300 dash I bought would cost you where you live.
  3. I saw no ill effects with mine and I did flush out the cooling system after the HG replacement.
  4. I drove mine for 20k miles with the leak before it finally had a drop hit the ground. The heat on the block evaporated it before it could the ground. But it was always moist at the leak. Mine failed right here a d it was the original gasket.
  5. Me thinks you would be correct on the joke.
  6. Not a thing but do like price for what thats worth.
  7. I picked up a regular long bed with a decent bumper, intact factory tail lights pretty much rust free and a little damage on the bed rails. Also had a cut out for a goose neck hitch. This for $200. Tail gate was toast though. I think we both got a good deal.
  8. Yep thats the one. I came home to only 3 cans of blinker fluid and one can I put in the freezer yesterday. But I do have a jug of high test in the cabinet. Crown Royal Black. I need some of that now. Sorry for my confusion. Maybe to much high test fuel.
  9. What made them loose control? In the brief video they appear to going just fine then just swerved to the left.
  10. Dont stop posting, please. This has been very interesting to watch and would hate to not see the end product. Keep up the good work.
  11. I think if I sat on shelf for the past 8 years I would have some gremlins that wanted out. I think I am fine too. I not like I said it was not that hard to change and long since paid for.
  12. When I left this pm it disengaged in about 30seconds. Pretty much like the oe. We shall see how it acts in the am. I bought this thing back 13 so it was paid for. Might as well use it. If it does not work out it is not that hard to change.
  13. Mine lasted 531k. I got my moneys worth. I did my AC about 3 years back. Replaced everting under the hood for about $250. The wife's Saturn had the compress blow not after. The parts for it were almost double that. I cant what either would have cost if I had taken them some where.
  14. Ouch on that new truck. All are ok I hope. The pointy looks better from that angle. That is alot of work in that area.
  15. You see powdered rust where nut meets the housing. It definitely got dry. My oe used free spin a little after shut down. But I had not given it any concern for quite a while since it seemed be working fine. You could still move it with the engine off and would get easier the move the more you rotated, but it did not free spin with your hand much. Even this new one I dont think I could stop it like @Mopar1973Mandid in his video. I was going to try but could not find anything suitable to stick in there. Plus sticking something in a rotating fan goes against my better judgement. This morning it took about 9 or 10 miles for to unlock. The old one would lock some mornings but would release after the fluid moved around in a minute or so of driving. We will see how it does over the next while.
  16. George Thorogood would agree with you both and maybe me too. Some days just call for all three. Glad you OK @Dieselfuture.
  17. Some photos of the new and old. More to follow. I got the fan clutch replaced today. Went to my shop and 30 seconds later had it in my hand. . Thought it might be a bigger search since I bout it a while back. According to the invoice in the it was 2013. Had another problem back then that turned out to be something else. So I hope shelf life dont kill it. It is a Hayden and everything in the box says made in the USA thought it is not on the part anywhere. The fins do appear to be different but the body including the fins appears to be the same size. So I have no idea what the difference is. Install was not to bad. I did rent a clutch removal tool, thanks @IBMobile. It did not have a 71 mm but 72mm but it worked. Just took a bit to figure how to hold the wrench's , socket wrench. and the cheater bar by myself. Bot once the magic moment happened it just came apart fairly easy. Install was about the same though I dont know how you would torque it. I just grabbed it all a gave a good tighten. Took for a half mile drive and It took about a quarter mile to unlock. When I shut it down the fan spun for about 3 seconds. Took the clutch back and got the engine up to temp and at shut down it spun for about 5 seconds. Seems to spin more feely than the 19 year old oe but I have not paid much attention to it in quite awhile. @TractormanIf you look at the side by side you can see the marks you speak of the new one though they are very small. I dont see them on the oe. But the wrench marks might have obscured if they were that small on the oe. Bottom line its in. If it does not hold up then I can do it again. Thanks for all the advice folks.
  18. The BAHF seems to amplify noises thru the intake system that I do not hear with the stock air especially the thumping noise The turbo whistling has never bothered me
  19. Thanks guys. That would have stumped me for a bit.
  20. any one know what size skinny wrench I need to get it apart?
  21. I have never minded the turbo noise. Its the other noise I hear from BHAF that bugs me the most. But I have gotten used to it to a degree. The stock air box seemed to muffle that noise.
  22. It has been so long ago that bought it that it might be pre Chinese. At least the instructions anyway.
  23. You will grow to like it.
  24. I have one on the shelf for the same reason. It has been 12 years or so. Been there so long I dont know what shelf anymore. The old one is oe so I cant complain. We will see how a new one does. It is definitely moving alot of air right now.
  25. I remember the first time mine locked while towing. Felt like I went from 2500 pickup to twin engine turbo prop. Caught me off guard. I can identify with that one. I dont like going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I have heard this before. Thing I hate is I have a new one sitting in a box in the shop. I believe it is a Wagner. Dont know for sure but I will dig it out. I will gall me to put it on and it not work but it is going to be hard to ignore. I will price the oe just because/. Thanks Gentlemen, and you too @JAG1.
