Quadzilla adrenaline for mpg's is it worth it?
When I bought the turbo back before Christmas. The day after I ordered it I walked and put $450 in her hand and told her that I bought my present now you get to buy yours. But since mine just came a couple weeks I think she would like to see another 459.

Doing the w-t gound mod
Not sure what that is. I have had both the Bosch and ND style alternator and the only wires either one had was the charge wire and the two field wires that plug into the back. I believe to blue wire coming out of the loom. Not sure what another larger would be unless someone added an additional ground from the case to the frame. Its not unheard of.

Quadzilla adrenaline for mpg's is it worth it?
If I do get one I would probably have delivered to the job and put on the truck on the sly. I think I will at least wait until I see how the new turbo reacts with the Comp.

Quadzilla adrenaline for mpg's is it worth it?
Yep. But then someone comes in and clears the muddy water up to a degree. Right when I convinced my self to keep the comp. I saved the money twice to do it and life got in the way. So now I have it saved up again and I cant get off the fence about it. The handrails keep getting in the way. A quad would be fun to explain to the wife with a brand new turbo and a bluetop steering box sitting. Whats another 700 bucks amongst a married couple.

2006 Dodge 3500 - Installing Valair (quiet) dual disc clutch
I put a Valair clutch in mine many years back and the throw out bearing only lasted 70k. It was un marked for a brand so I had no Idea who made it. Just food for thought.

Elbow
Same here the display. I ran a KN for many years. Always cleaned very and never tried to get it completely clean. The wife had her's cleaned by a shop that used compress air on it. You could see thru it like Mike's picture only worse. I threw it away and pur her back on paper filters to eleminate that happening again.

Crossover Tubes - Replace vs. Reuse
Thats pretty much how I look at mine. Though I guess if the damage is in the size of microns it would be hard to see. But I think I am still keeping mine.

Crank Position Sensor Acting Weird Now...
When my last MAP sensor failed I replaced it with one from Fridayparts.com. 15 bucks. 7 months later it is still going strong. Who knows how long it will last. Never priced a crank sensor nor would I know if they are any good. What I did do is take the failed one back to Orielly's and get it replaced. It sits in my console just in case.

No fuel gauge and no volt gauge
That I did.

No fuel gauge and no volt gauge
You mean nothing, zero, zilch, nada? He does work cheap.

No fuel gauge and no volt gauge
Thought my gremlins were coming back today. Somewhere on the ride to work my check gauges light came on, not sure when. The volt gauge dropped out. Have a new rebuilt alternator that put on 3 weeks ago or so. I get to work and put my meter on it and shor nuff the Alt is putting out good voltage; Hmmm While checking a bit further I see a small spark on the positive terminal. Check a bit deeper and realize the installer only tightened the charge wire finger tight. Might have to kick that installer square in the arse!!!

Neither can I.

If you are running a stock hx35 you will benefit from a boost elbow. The stock waste gate is going to open at near 20psi. The HX is good into the the low 30's. You will like the extra air. The boost fooler in the tuner just fools the ECM into not seeing the high pressure. Thats what will set a code.

Crank Position Sensor Acting Weird Now...
They are elusive, sneaky and have never been photographed. Unless the highly sneaky @IBMobile has snuck up one.

Crank Position Sensor Acting Weird Now...
It took 3 cam sensors from AZ to finally get a good one in the wifes Dakota several years back. They would work a while then fail. Third one did the trick. Could be the same issue, maybe not. I despise electrical gremlins.

IT NEW HEAD TIME!
I used a Cummins gasket set I bought on Ebay. Not sure what DAP sells but he is not known for selling junk at all. He is as reputable as the come.

Quadzilla adrenaline for mpg's is it worth it?
I was able to get 19.5 out of my 2500 running 75 on pure interstate runs regularly with the comp and rv275's. I always thought that was pretty respectable running at near 7500 pounds. But since replacing the VP and not tapping the pump I am at 18.5. Going to tap the pump soon and see if the other 1 mpg comes back. I would like to have a quad but not purely for mileage. Of course any additional mpg with a mod is always welcome.

Crossover Tubes - Replace vs. Reuse
I still have my oe ones in the truck with no issues. The most I do to mine when they are out is polish the mating surfaces with a green scrubbie. Just be sure to snug up the injectpr line up to the head before you tighten the injector hold down bolt. That will help seat the tube into the injector properly. The steel in those things is so hard I dont see how they can wear out. But I am sure some do or no one would sell them.

IT NEW HEAD TIME!
I did use the whole rocker assembly from 6.7. Some of mine were galled. I found a used set on Ebay with push rods;, exact same part. I went Kenworth dealer and talked about new ones and we were pretty sure the new ones would fit but the part numbers were different. Took a chance on the used since if I ordered the new ones they were mine and I could not return them. As far as a new loaded head, just be careful of where it comes from if you go that route. There are some cheap ones out there. I have no idea which ones to buy. The ARP studs are good but if plan on staying where you are on power you dont need them. The stock bolts will hold. I replaced my head gasket right at 2 years ago and reused the bolts that came on the engine. They were well within spec per Cummins. That being said though, what cause all of the damage to that engine? Also was it you that posted the thread with the cracked head a little while back? In fairness I will add that I did not have the cash for the ARP studs at the time. And since the bolts were in spec I chose to install them. I figured if I went for more power with a Quad I would replace them at that time. It is not a hard swap since you do one at a time.

Armored 2nd Gen...just in case
I know one thing we can all agree on and that is that we have successfully hijacked another thread. There aint no vaccine for this virus.

Armored 2nd Gen...just in case
I dont know a thing about either one of those folks. Nor do I think I could watch to much of them. I have not heard of all of these thousands of folks having bad harmful reactions to the vaccines. At least no more than normally would happen with tried and proven vaccines for other viruses. Myself, the wife and my 91 year old MIL all got our 2nd dose of the Moderna Vaccine last Friday and Saturday. I and the MIL had sore arms for about half day on the first shot and about 24hrs on the second. My wife's arm is still a bit sore but thats it. There have been no wide spread allergic reactions in my neck of the woods. Now I will agree with miss Tenpenny that there was no long term study done on the vaccine I took or any of the others. How many millions would die while the extended study was done. We cant just sit back and do nothing. I willingly took the vaccine because I believe it was the prudent thing to do. Bottom line is you have to do what you think is right. I made my choice and wont look back unless I start barking like dog because my DNA is changing. Woof, Woof Dave
