  1. I always weigh how much value the truck has, and that includes the personal value I put on it as well as monetary value. I spent three years looking for a low mileage, 6-speed truck that was bone stock so I could start from scratch and build it how I want. Finally found it 4 years ago and while it does piss me off all the time (just last week the AC system self discharged on the highway), the cost of repairs and upgrades has never come close to the value I personally put on my truck. I've had other vehicles that were almost "throw-aways" - commuter cars designed to get me from place to place while remaining stock. Until a month ago, I had an Accord. Then I got in a wreck and totalled the car. No personal conflict in sending it off to the junkyard. Whereas if it had been the truck, I would have probably fixed it, or explored a powertrain swap into a Super Duty or something. My point is OP, you're the only one who can determine if the truck is worth keeping and keeping it alive, or if it's easier to get rid of it. Everyone on here values their truck differently and as such, we aren't exactly the best gauge on what you should do with your truck.
  2. Looks like the Hewitts are pretty cheap through Rob's site. Oh well. I like my new autometers.
  3. So just switching it up a bit?
  4. @jlbayes why? I've hard good things about them but have never seen them up close or in action. And what are you switching from?
  5. My theory is it's something to do with the quality of the sender unit. Up until yesterday I was reading the fuel pressure through the Quadzilla with a sender unit from a Mercury outboard. I would sometimes see 3 psi fluctuations at idle. Now I read pressure through an AutoMeter sender and gauge, and the new gauge doesn't have the same range of fluctuation. I now see 3 psi drop from idle to WOT.
  6. @notlimah focus on the pretty gauges lol
  7. If you're looking for all out power, edge holds the dyno and track records. If you're looking for a tuner that will allow you to maximize economy and power, AND if you're willing to mess with tunes to figure out what your truck likes (because every truck reacts differently) then the Quadzilla Adrenaline is what you're looking for. For me, it rates at the top of my list because I'm looking for maximum power while keeping smoke to a minimum.
  8. I sure am! It's holding surprisingly well for something that says AutoCraft on it
  9. Thanks! And the damn charger broke the bezel, I've just been too lazy to fix it.
  10. Got the gauges installed today, and am very happy with how they look and operate!
  11. @notlimah you know it! ? But. @Me78569 and I met for a beer the other night and I said something along the lines of "I'm just waiting for my truck to break again" and the damn thing heard me. 5 minutes after leaving, the A/C decides to self discharge on the highway. So, here we are again.
  12. I guess I'm spoiled with my Quad and the new Gallons Used feature... But also I know my truck and can usually guess how many gallons have been used... and also when it's going to break on me next.....
  13. Put the oil on before the fuel so it mixes as the tank is filling. 1oz of two-stroke per gallon of fuel is the general rule.
  14. @Youngblood24v you could try stuffing some dielectric grease in the connector and cycling the plug a few times to see if that helps. A year ago I had the dead pedal issue, tried the grease, and then it went away for almost a full year before the stock APPS gave up the ghost completely and I ended up putting a Timbo APPS on it
  15. Don't let Bayes see you say that Nick.....
  16. Man @Dieselfuture, those don't look so good... @jlbayes I saw a set of studded Duratracs on FB for sale today. Maybe that would help you with your issues lol.
  17. You got dead pedal. Sign that your APPS is going out. Also, why did you have an overboost code? The Quad acts as a boost fooler.
  18. Here's what my injectors looked like after 7k miles of using Pennzoil two stroke. It was all super soft soot that wiped right off.
  19. I agree, they look goofy. Mine have been on for months and I'm just starting to be ok with the look.
  20. Honestly I don't remember which pins had to be switched. What I did was pull all three pins out of the Morimoto harness and plug wires into the stock bulb connector until it did what I wanted and then put the contacts back in the Morimoto plug. Edit: Seeing that you have a 96 and I have an 01, I think the pinouts of the stock plug are different. But, my R&R for finding the correct pin combo will still work.
  21. I bought AutoMeter because they have a rebate going and they had my favorite gauge face. I did not know about the functions of the EV2's last week when I surprise-ordered myself gauges, but here we are.
  22. I had that issue. Had to switch pins around in the Morimoto harness to get it to agree with my truck.
  23. I know we all know these guys from their cover of "Blank Space" but they've got a solid sound on their own.
  24. There is the option to plan ahead. I finally got a triple pillar mount due to the additional specialized gauges on the Quadzilla and opted for the 100 psi fuel pressure gauge and 100 psi boost gauge, just in case of certain potential modifications.... But that's just me. Edit: Not super applicable to the subject, but just in case the power bug finds you, it is an option...
