Need HO VP and CR engine numbers
Well I can find a lot more info on the CR's than the ISB so whatever the specs may be they won't be hard to find. Illinois has been blue since 1992 so I think you were already doomed. I uh, made a spreadsheet of it all last night lol. States are on both sides because I'm too stupid to trace all the way across without skipping rows

Need HO VP and CR engine numbers
It's the HY turbo years I'm having issues with. dodgeram.org says the HY REPLACED the HX in 2000 and goes on to say it was used for the 2001 auto's and 5 spds. It says the HX was used in the HO. It mentions nothing on any changes about that for 2002 but I know Mike has an 02 5 spd and an HX so somewhere there is something fishy. I am assuming in 2000 the autos got the HY and kept it till the end of the ISB and the 5-6spds kept the HX. But I'm not sure, need more electoral votes.

Ah perfect. I'm having issues with the VP trucks. According to this and this I can't figure out exactly where the HY came in. Everyone says it was the auto trucks in 00 or 01 but that seems to say otherwise. I don't know if anyone is absolutely sure but I would love to know for sure. Currently...:

New Driveway Gate
I see. I would still open everything up, give moparmom a hole in the wall and a .22 and let her go at anything that moves lol. People need to be taught! I think there is a much bigger issue with the country that everyone is missing. I can't put my finger on it but it revolves around bandaiding things than finding permanent solutions. Actualllllly the BIGGEST problem is that people don't work together. I don't know if they ever did (did they?) but back in the world wars I know everyone supported it and did what they could to help (at least thats what I read they did). I don't see that kind of support these days. 9/11 happened and bush said he would kill them and his rating went through the roof, but I don't eh I don't remember but I guess I don't recall anyone doing anything different to support the war. Half the country says we shouldn't even be at war. We need to unite, settle our differences, compromise on a plan that works for everyone, if that means that the federal government needs to step back and let the states decide on their own, so be it. I don't think what works in colorado will work in delaware. But I have no clue on the laws all I know is people really don't work together. I mean a community could work together and thrive. Car pooling.....NEVER happens because of whatever reason between people. You could probably cut half the gas consumption in america if everyone carpooled to work. But people don't because they don't want to talk to the other or they haven't made any friends with anyone, whatever. I have noticed that a lot in college. I have a chemistry class with 500 people and although it was completely filled at the beginning, only 250 or less show up now. Everyone sits with a chair between the next person. It's BS. I realize some people are unbearable to put up with, as in they talk when the teacher is talking or try and copy off of you or something, but most people don't and I see no reason why everyone can't be friends with each other and work toward a common goal. Voting booths...why the hell do you have to be in a closed booth so the person you don't know next to you doesn't see who you voted for... Even if they knew you, it should just be "known" that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But no, people of today would chew you out, tell you obama is the antichrist, whatever else. I think it is apparent everyone on here is against obama, I really don't have an opinion either way because I got nothing out of the debates. Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion of what they think is best though. My mom didn't like obamacare, so she went romney. Another person I know didn't like it either because she was a pharmacist and apparently obamacare caps their income. But obviousllly there were other aspects that people did like. I just don't see why people don't join forces. Hell it wouldn't take much to set up a meeting in your town, explain that we need to join together, and spread the word to other towns. Nobody cares though, its always the governments fault apparently. But if we joined together, we could surely overthrow the government, if that was the ultimate solution to the problem (I have no clue). You can think about it the same as a company. They work together for a common goal, to make a product so they can make money. America is the same way. We all work together to make money. In bigger companies, there is less communication between people. This is the same in america, but in both cases it works. The problem comes when you can't settle differences between people and work out a compromise. People pay twice as much to ship something just so they don't have to talk to whoever because of reasons that probably don't make a damn to the company. The last place I worked did a lot of crappy work because of this stuff. The foreman and the guy under him didn't like each other so the foreman would just tell him to do whatever he wanted since he knew everything. He didn't but he was kinda cocky so the foreman shoved it in his face and made him figure it out. He had no experience and made a lot of worthless crap that the foreman didn't care about and so it worked but it was just so lousy that anyone could have done better. Daysss were lost because of this because it took him forever to figure it out on his own. I realize his cockyness needed to be corrected but you don't sacrifice customer quality for that crap. I worked with everyone's ways of doing things as to not tip the balance any and make someone mad, but the crap they did partially reflected on me since I was wearing the same shirt as them. Meaning my awesome conduit (I love bending/running conduit) was distorted by the crap they made that I had to run it to. So it was part of the reason I left, if not 3/4 of the reason. Ok this is plenty long and yeah the point is we just need to work out our differences, get to the point of understanding we all have opinions and the RIGHT to our own opinions and work together toward a better way of life. Don't attack me, I know this might be way off to some [or all] of you but it's just the way I see things Sorry to divert into a huge uhhh whatever I just did.

New Driveway Gate
Isn't this in the middle of nowhere? I think fort knox is less secure lol. If it were me, I would have left everything completely open. Then when they start taking wood, make them dance with bullets. Why prevent them from learning a good lesson, if it's not you then they will take it from someone else.. I should run the country

Need HO VP and CR engine numbers
Well I wasn't able to find as much as I wanted, quickserve likes to leave stuff blank. But you guys do have me wanting to do something else. Eh let me whip it up real quick and maybe you guys can help with criteria to add. I haven't really seen a big list comparing all of them, just lists for each one. I think a huge master list would be neat so here it is so far, the info may or may not be right, I just threw up stuff so you all can give input on criteria.

New Driveway Gate
Last year (I think) when I went to Nebraska to help that guy, he had me digging holes for posts as well. He had a post hole digger and I said how deep and he said until the post hole digger is flush. Meaning the holes were like 6 ft deep. It was freezing with wind and everything which pushed me so hard to get enough heat going that I was doing each hole in half an hour. Then you fill them in and tamp them the whole time while you fill it in. Those posts were so solid it would total a geo metro if it ran into it lol. So do it on a cold day when someone ticked you off and get really mad and take it out on the dirt and you'll have a 10ft hole in no time lol. My fury was derived from the cold but I don't think you care about the cold so yeah, slam your foot in the truck door or something to bring out the rage

Vote 2012
You're the only person in this thread whose state voted for him so if you didn't want him you should have preached a little more That's right, it's allllll your fault lol.

blow-by.... potential causes....
Don't worry about that pin. All you have to do is watch #1 valves and wait until they overlap. Basically you turn the engine over and if you are going backwards (counterclockwise from the front) then the intake valve will open and as you keep going the intake valve will start to close and then the exhaust valve will start to open. The moment that exhaust valve starts to open, stop. Now on the chart of valves you can do, you do the set that includes adjusting #6. Since #1 is on valve overlap (both valves are on a cam lobe), you can't adjust it so you are not on the set that adjusts #1. Then rotate the engine 360* which will make piston #6 do the same thing, as in you watch the intake close and stop when the exhaust starts to move. Then you can do the valve set including #1. If you are going clockwise, you watch the exhaust valve close and stop when the intake starts to open. This is PLENTY accurate for a valve job and keeps you from having to mess with that pin. That thing is a complete pain and I don't know why they even bothered inventing it. It's not accurate enough to set timing with so it's basically worthless.

Firewood
He might be onto something. In the first pic we see the work force waiting on the supervisor. In the second pic we see the workforce doing 3 logs at a time. In the 3rd pic we see the supervisor supervising. In the 4th pic we see the supervisor ready to work but the workforce already busted it out. Same scenario with any crew in america But I did notice mike was thinner...I think dorkweed has his monitor on one of this disproportionate resolutions lol. Keep up the good work moparmom! I can just see her in the back chopping wood with fiery, "can't get that *CHOP* damn son of mine *CHOP* to do anything! *CCCHHOP*" I had to say it. I can imagine her being able to do that so it crossed my mind lol.

First winter snow are you ready?
So in theory, I think my thermostat is a 190 because it's actually from a 5.9 gasser. I can't remember but I think its 190. Anyhow. Pulling the trailer and whatnot I get up to maybe 205 on the long hill by Rolla that I fly up with the trailer to pass all the slow semis and thats on a 95F day. So thats a 15 degree gain so a 200F tstat would theoretically set me at 215. Perfect! I'm thinking it might be a little lower since the temperature differential would mean more of it dissipates in the radiator, so maybe 0.1* lower. I shall head to CF and rape them of their tstats!

blow-by.... potential causes....
I guess I read your first post wrong. The haze is normal, if it isn't pushing the oil tube out then I wouldn't worry about anything, especially if he does all that. I mean there is no reason it would be worn out with that kind of pampering. Mine has 350k miles and pushes the tube out, has a haze from the blowly tube and who knows what else. I like to blow the cob webs out of it haha. But you do have that oil loss so I would fix that tube up so it's good an sealed and tell us of any other symptoms of this lower power output.. Anything you have noticed, and I mean anything that led up to this. Do you have any gauges like EGT or boost that have changed any over time from their normal range?

blow-by.... potential causes....
When the blowby is pushing the dipstick out, then it's probably a little excessive. Mine does that. You push the dipstick all the way in and the next time you pop the hood the dipstick is out an inch. It isn't necessarily bad but it's obviously been used a little over the years, though with only that many miles I would say there was something else in the equation. Too many cold starts, they used ether....its endless. But mine does it and it's fine and happy. Though I still get great mileage. The leak where the tube drains back into the engine probably just needs a longer hose. You can see the tube goes into a short maybe orange hose that is like 4 inches long. Get one a little longer so you can stick it up a little farther onto the return line pipe and then get a couple good hose clamps on it. Mine does the same thing, just never fixed it haha. I think the oil soaks into that 4 inch hose and it expands to where it doesn't conform to the return line pipe thing. The line going to the TOP of the turbo gives the turbo the oil, the bottom is just a gravity feed back to the oil pan, though it is by no means a trickle, it pours the oil into the pan.. A quart of oil every 1200 miles is a bit much though, but it could be dumping out of that return pipe thing. I'll dig up a test you can do with a manometer so you can see how bad it is. Here you go. I might have my own writeup here somewhere but I can't remember where and I just saw this guy's today. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/94-98-engine/232657-checking-blowby.html Threads on the test worth reading: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/2408-Compression-Test http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/2001-high-oil-pressure

First winter snow are you ready?
Well dang. I knew the nascars were a different animal but I was using it as an example to show that the whole world doesn't end if you go over 210. I found cummins stuff that did say 215 all over it. The 4.5l cummins has a 225 max and that thing has a 5.??" stroke. I'm thinking thats what I need to throw in my jeep.

First winter snow are you ready?
Then what happens? I think every guy with a crappy thermostat has watched his gauge tap the red then drop all the way to 140. I see that as much worse since the engine is going from relatively hot to relatively cold and I don't think it does it uniformly. If the whole block heats and cools equally, there is no problem, but this water rushes in starting at the front and rushing to the back. I mean my gauge went from hot to cold in a second. With that in mind, what exactly happens over 215F when it can obviously tolerate going to 220 then surging to 140.

First winter snow are you ready?
Somewhere I read that they made a 205 for the 2nd gens but I have yet to find it. It's just very interesting that a 20F increase accounted for 37% mileage increase, I didn't think it had THAT big of an effect. Bring on the heat! Nascars run up to 280F when they do that drafting crap on the track, so I wonder how hot we can run before we start to screw stuff up.

Need HO VP and CR engine numbers
I'm finding some conflicting data throughout the net and basically I need the engine number from the data plate on the side of the block for a 2nd gen 24V HO engine (already got SO number) and for any 3rd gen engine. Maybe even a 6.7 but I don't think anyone here has one. If anyone could help me with this then I would appreciate it and do anything you wanted.

If they are pulling them what are they replacing them with or why are they ditching them?

First winter snow are you ready?
Thats why I've been trying to find this 205F thermostat they supposedly make for the cummins. I've never been able to find it though. I want that thing to run 210-215 the whole time.

New injectors, do I need a bigger hammer?!
Yeah I would screw a bolt it and pull on the head of the bolt... make sure you're pulling straight up. The injectors are very hard steel so you will rip the head of the bolt off before you screw the injector up, but 24V injectors shouldn't be in there too hard, they are protected from the elements and covered in oil... You don't wanna know what I had to do to get my 12V injectors out after 300k miles and being exposed to the elements.. I don't know how viable this is but you might put a light coating of high temp grease between the o ring and the injector tip so it keeps it a little more isolated from whatever it is bound to. That's what I do with my 12V injectors and they have pulled right out from then on.
