  1. I don't know if you tried ace hardware, I see there are a few in your area. They seem to always have every possible bolt. Fastenal/Lowes/etc. are more aimed at mainstream bolts. Just though I would let you know if you run into the issue in the future.
  2. I have a bosch book and it showed a graph of the pressure spike of injection and VP trucks are the most rapid of all. It explained that the rapid pressure rise and the resulting injection of a ton of fuel made the thing knock very loud. The P-pump trucks have a slower pressure rise and the CR trucks use a preinjection to soften it. If the CR didn't use a pre injection, they would be worse than the VP. There is no real solution since it is just the nature of design. Now that I think about it, 2 stroke oil probably lowers the cetane a little and gives the injection a smoother ignition since lower cetane doesn't ignite as quick or violently. High RPM diesels (like in some diesel race cars), use very high cetane because it needs to burn more like gasoline, rather than slowly burn like regular diesel. My theory anyways.
  3. It seemed like a very mild storm system. I mean it dumped tons of rain but temp rise and drop wasn't very significant hence why I think there weren't any tornadoes. Usually when all hell breaks loose it is blue skies and you can watch an anvil cloud build in the distance where the cold front is slamming into the warm air. This was all just grey crap all day with lightning, no blue skies or anvils or anything. Must have been a little more significant in Minnesota.
  4. April 1-3 accumulated 8" of rain here. Normal for the entire month is 6. We have floods a lot and those roads are marked with depth meters on the side so it really doesn't affect us. I don't think it was that bad since it hadn't rained for a while before so the ground soaked up what it could then the creeks and rivers filled back up.
  5. My brother despises cummins to no end and has told me my truck is the biggest POS on the planet. He said it smokes too much, the EGT's are out of control, everything that has 6.0 powerstroke doesn't do. I had to explain to him that his powerstroke has a computer and lots of control, whereas mine has 0 control, it's all in your foot. I am the only one who can drive it. I will never go back, I love 100% control, but it does take a LOT of attention to understand it. Once you understand everything, it is easyyyyy to drive. But yeah, thats probably how it will go with anyone else if you take the fuel plate and afc out. One or the other is doable. However...I would take the fuel plate out and play with the AFC and see if you can get to a point where the EGT's aren't out of control as much as you can. Play with the turbo boost, etc... If all else fails and you cannot get it under control, put the fuel plate back in and grind a little each time until you are satisfied. Timing is debatable but I'll explain some things and you can decide for yourself. Advancing the timing makes it start harder. If it is a tight engine then it isn't much of a problem, but a worn out engine might have a harder time in the winter. It will still start but might make you frown. The low RPM required for shifting a manual requires retarded timing. The more you advance it, the more power down low you lose. I advanced mine and when I went back I couldn't believe the power I had lost. Towing heavy loads requires higher RPM, higher RPM is more efficient with more advanced timing. If you are at 2000RPM towing 10k+, your truck would love to be at 17*. Because it's static, you have to use your own views on priorities to determine the best spot. I put mine at 13.5 because I hated losing low end power and wanted it to start good in the winter. Since I think you tow and being arkansas doesn't see that much winter, I would put it at 15 so you don't lose too much low end being a manual.
  6. The only thing I hate about hot weather is how much it costs to get a 68F room at night to sleep in. I can't stand sleeping in heat. If I'm awake, bring on the 120F vegas heat.
  7. They didn't explain much about wing loading and stuff though, so I will as I think it is another important factor. Wing loading is the loaded weight of the aircraft divided by the area of the wing, measured in lbs per sq.ft.. Its much the same as the size of ski you need in order to ski behind a boat on water. For a given set of skis, the speed you need to get up on top of the water depends on the weight of the person, same with airplane wings. But you see 2 factors there...speed and area. With enough of one, you can compensate for the other. Meaning with more speed, a fat person can still get on top of the water, conversely with enough area, you can get the same person on top of the water with a slower speed. The water has more area of the ski to push on so it has more of an effect so you need lower speed. A kite has a very very low wing load...so it doesnt take much wind to lift it. So this should all be very obvious stuff now. So we move on to the factor of air density. If the water was very thin, how easily would it be to get the skier on top? Think of trying to get on top of something that almost resembles air.... Those tiny skies will get you nowhere unless you realllllllllllly go fast...or, increase the ski size (a lot) until you are on top of the thin "air" water substancy crap that I just made up. The same thing happens when you go higher in the atmosphere. You can either go faster, or use bigger wings. The U2 (this thing) flys at 70-80k feet, at only 500mph.. It is almost impossible and is said to be comparable to balancing a bowling ball on a needle. Because of the slow speed, the thin air means they have to go with plan B, big wings and low weight to allow for very low wing loading. The whole thing only weighs 14,000lbs unloaded. This makes it almost impossible to land, it wants to fly like a kite. I think they said landing it was where most trainees failed. On the flip side you have the SR71 (this thing) which flys at the very same 70-80k feet, but at 2200mph. They chose speed over wing area to get the same altitude.. The wing loading is high so it has to go pretty fast to take off. In fact, the boeing that refuels it has to slightly nosedive to keep up enough speed while refueling the st71. Hope this helps.
  8. So I typed in 777 max altitude on google and 3rd result down is what you want http://www.askcaptainlim.com/-air-safety-aviation-35/129-what-limits-a-plane-to-fly-higher-than-the-normal-cruising-altitude.html Not sure what you searched for haha
  9. You can get a 1TB external drive at walmart for like $80. Rather than messing with thumb drives 1TB=1000GB... I bought this one yesterday and cloned a 120GB mac hard drive to it in an hour. http://www.walmart.com/ip/WD-My-Passport-Ultra-1TB-Portable-Drive-Black/27679867
  10. I played with the injectors in my jeep and did the same thing. The injectors had 2 o rings and every time I shoved it in the hole it would roll the o ring around and tear them up on the edges of the oring groove. Eventually I found a solution...dab some clean grease around the oring and that thing slides in without moving a bit. Might help if you are having that issue
  11. Johnfak's truck with the stock injectors had 2 shims in some 1 in others. The 2 shimmed ones had a total thickness that equaled the 1 shimmed ones so I'm not exactly sure why some are 2 and some are 1. Calipers are only around 5-10 thousands off at the most and that is not enough to change pop pressure much at all (maybe 5-10psi) so whatever inaccuracies I might have had measuring are too insignificant to matter and it makes you wonder if they were just lazier with some injectors or what.

  13. I've never seen a Missouri flag. Probably isn't even one on the capital lol.
  14. I thought the flag should be flown at all times and not taken down anytime the weather gets bad as a sign that we are united through all times of thick and thin. If it gets damaged, put a new one up. To me, taking it down shows that we just give up during the bad times. I mean it's a flag....its not a person up there freezing to death. And as such, it should be flown proudly at all times. Thats how I see it anyway.
  15. I scrolled all around with it when it was here. You just have to be more precise lol. The "wiser" generation is just too used to things that don't require a lot of precision, but as things get smaller you just have to learn. We got my granny a computer and she was slamming the keyboard as if it was the same mechanical typewriter she had last used. Pink definitely made it stand out. I thought the whole "manly color" thing goes out the window after you get out of school. Though my dad walking around public places with my moms maltese and a pink leash is something I just won't do haha. I will carry a pink purse around no prob. Thats so far out there that I think people know it's not mine. But the dog......no lol
  16. Mines around 6300.
  17. What operating system do you use? Windows 7 or...? I can show you how to easily edit videos. I don't know how you did all that and didn't get dirty at all. If I pop my hood I have to take a shower just from the hood latch
  18. The NFL one who came out was here... As in 4 miles from my house. Then the westboro group did their rituals and everyone in college made a huge ring to block them or something. Anyways I have *** friends being this whole city is very "accepting" and I really don't care. To me the nation is built on principles from the bible but that means it is built against the freedom of religion thing. The bible gives details about right and wrong and it is what a lot of laws are based upon. However, a religion is simply a way of life. There are many "bibles" in this day and age so you can't pick one and say its the correct one simply because it is older. I believe you can think what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone. It is wrong to kill, punch someone, etc, as well as mental pain such as cheating on someone or this or that. It is basically what the 10 commandments say. The finer details of the scripture is where all the conflicting opinions come into play and I just don't see the wars and arguments that stem from them as being productive or the true intent of religion. I think religion is a way to bring about harmony. Way too many use the finer details that can be interpreted many different ways as a means to drive their belief, when this merely stimulates violence. This crap has been going on for centuries. Is slavery wrong? Is poverty wrong? It will keep going on because of the way we interpret religion. Why is the government basically split between 2 sides when they are both people? They have very powerful minds being used in a very corrupt-ful manner. There is no reason they can't weigh out the benefits, create scenarios, etc. together, to come up with a great plan for society, rather than just argue based on the ideals of one party or the other, which also circulates around religion..in a country where religion is free and hence no sole religion should be influenced upon us in the form of a law. I'm gonna get shot.
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Hard-Rubberized-Case-Cover-for-Apple-iPod-Nano-4th-Generation-/291071674338 There you are. Would make it a lot easier to hold. Its just thin as all get out.
  20. He's talking about something he can use while working out...rather than opening the truck doors next to the gym.
  21. Yeah. I think all the versions are pretty alike and being just an MP3 player its not really rocket science. But the itunes will sync easily with yours and hers and yeah, very very simple. Theres a reason every 10 year old has one and can easily use it. These are the 2 from my sister. If you don't mind pink, you can have that one. The other is the size of your cell phone lol. The pink one is color, 1/4" thick, plays movies etc.
  22. Your wife already has an account, basically everything you mentioned... Trying to learn something new especially if you aren't tech savy is just a PITA. Ipods are tried and true. You can get them on ebay or craigslist for next to nothing. However, there are like 5 or maybe even more versions of them so you might try and get the same one she has so there is a common knowledge. My dad was telling me that his company has a plant in germany and they use the same motor for everything, generally. Meaning they stock a 1HP, maybe a 5HP, increments like that. Everything 1 or less (within reason) has to use that motor. In the warehouse, they only stock that motor. Cheap, easy, they know everything about it. Unlike plants here that have different motors on everything based on where they bought it. So it's similar to the deal you have. Your wife already has it, knows it, so get the same one and you are golden.
  23. Family reunion at Mike's house. Raffles for his truck at noon.

I drive past the same station daily so I can watch the price fluctuate on gas (never look at diesel anymore) and a few days ago it spiked like 20 cents up. I'm not sure what happened in society but it sure shot way up there.
