Poll..........To buy.........or not to buy?
Yeah your purposes are different. As in you want a rock crawler/hot rod whatever truck and you would sell the dump bed etc.. Yet you want a dump trailer even though you are just going to sell the dump stuff off of the dump truck. Soooo do you need something to be "dumpable" or not? Sounds like you just need to dump a load of rock or something and then never need the "dump" use out of it again so you're going to scrap the function of it to create your dreams. If it was trailer vs truck it would be one thing. But what we have here is trailer vs truck for a year then turn around and do something else with them.. In that case the truck wins.

Poll..........To buy.........or not to buy?
When the alternative is a trailer I don't see the value in a truck. Something with a whole set of maintenance to be done and this and that.... Not like a trailer takes anything but pocket change to maintain. It's like buying an RV then never using it. Then you use it and everything is crapped out from sitting so long.

Tire Pressure Calculation
I know a lot of people with feathering issues with them, including me. Idk why they suck on my truck but they just do. The michelins all wear fine. Must be a missouri thing.

Just want to say Thank you!!!
So here's what you don't know yabbadoo, I researched this thing until the horse was dead and all it's bones were broke. I drew this up as well for who knows what. There are actually 2 designs, this is the bigger one.

Tire Pressure Calculation
My truck came with michelin LTX A/S on it when I bought it and I put 80k on them. Who knows how many they had on it before. They sure didn't look new when I got it. I aired them up to 80psi in the front year round.. These hankook dynapros were a flop, wore very quickly but they were $150 each so you get what you pay for I guess. Those A/S tires are more like $220. When I put them on the back I only go to 60psi. I never can tell a difference between air pressures so I just run a lot so I never have to mess with it.

Pardon me for ruining this jovial thing a little, I just saw some things on here that some guys on this site might do that I would like to shed some solutions on. Again sorry for turning something funny into something serious but I see this crap on a lot of forums and figured it could help someone.

A very interesting video
IMO stupid people cause accidents. Or smart people acting stupid. But then there are things that just take experience to learn. For instance, I've only been in one fender bender. It was a downward sloped hill and it rained and for some reason it gave off an optical illusion that traffic was moving. As I got closer it was apparent they weren't. So I slammed on the brakes and stopped, but the guy tailgating me didn't stop as fast and hit me. I have been going to that intersection time and time again and can never repeat the illusion. Maybe I know to realize its an illusion and to pay more attention to cars in front of me or maybe...who knows. But the experience teaches you things that you otherwise wouldn't learn from a book or anything since most teenagers don't believe anything until they see it happen. Another time it was so foggy I couldn't see anything and I was on a little highway that meets a major highway. There is a stop sign there and I didn't see it till I was 10ft from it so I went across the highway at 60mph. If there hadn't been a little piece of crap road across the highway to slow down on (after it was apparent I just went across the damn highway) I would probably be dead. If a car was on the highway I would be dead as well. Driving in fog as dense as that or rain so heavy you can't see anything is simply wreckless so I try and avoid it. I notice they have since put rumble strips before the stop sign there, maybe someone else did the same thing and wasn't so lucky. In hindsight, you can slow down, but what if someone else is doing 60mph and sees you 10ft before running into you.. It's a crapshoot no matter how you look at it so avoiding it altogether is definitely the best thing. In Europe you have to do a lotttt of skills tests to even get a license, something we sure don't do. I think that has a lot to do with it. I mean teen accidents are going to happen as they get experience or learn to stop driving drunk. By the time you're in your 30's you shouldn't have any more accidents. I also think they should retest every 5 years though. The written test is a horrible indicator of whether a person should be driving or not. By the time you have driven 5 years, you should be able to ace the driving test with 100% from then on. In fact, I would have a grading scale based on how long you've had your license. If its the first 5 year test, 70% or better passes. 10 year test, 80% or better, 15 year test, 90% or better...then leave it at 90 from then on.

Please be aware of the roads you driving on!
There were 18 wheelers trailer and all going down the hairpin turns of pikes peak on my way up so that manicured road sure as hell isn't "passenger car only". Just people who don't know how to go slow.

I was a little naughty...
On the way home today I was going past the air force base and a guy came by me going the speed limit (I was doing 5 under or something, I drift all over the place lately haha) and it was just a guy on a crotch rocket in his air force clothes fully armed and had a back pack on. It was the one person who Ive ever seen on a crotch rocket that I didn't want to run over. I mean doing the speed limit is impossible for those guys so him doing it was respect enough but just seeing him with pistols and whatever else is on his belt (was lots of stuff) was just awesome.

Any Thoughts on Subaru's CVT Transmissions?
I have no idea how I know this but you are right. The promotional video of it had the car next to a river and going from a stop to a good speed pulling a skier on the river, showing that it was so smooth that the skier never felt any jerks that threw them off. It was some 50's or 60's car commercial. I assume it was some sorta CVT.

Any Thoughts on Subaru's CVT Transmissions?
I drove one a year ago. Was very interesting since it just goes to redline when you floor it and stays there until you let off. I wasn't impressed by the power at all but it was just a 4 banger nissan altima. My moms 4 banger camry seemed to have more power. I am not sure about the torque convertor thing I mean how would it not stall when you stop at a light? I guess to me it drove like an always unlocked, sloppy torque convertor..car. And since it was a sloppy TC, a lot of power just slipped away into friction resulting in the crappy power I experienced. But I have no clue and it mighta just been a doggy engine in a heavy car.

Can you link to this lifetime no service thing?

Any Thoughts on Subaru's CVT Transmissions?
Subaru makes very good cars from what I have ever seen. I think the smoothness of the CVT would make the drivetrain last even longer.

I think I finally caught up with ISX for a day run!
My whole truck weighs 6500. So how a CR packs on another TON is insane. Leather seats lol. I know the 4wd accounts for maybe 150lb transfer case, another ehhh 300 for the axle, if that. Don't see what they are doing to these things to make them so much heavier.

New Cummins engine announced
If they put it in a Titan then nissan might have a lot going for it. Seems so stupid that no 1/2 ton automaker will take the risk but I do know a lot of people who run when you even mumble "diesel". Still, the grand cherokees and liberties exceeded the sales expectations and I think a diesel 1/2 ton would sell like crazy. UNLESSSSS it comes with the ridiculous $50,000 minimum price tag.

30,000 miles later I changed my fuel filters
My oil filter and fuel filters probably look identical at 5000 miles. I've ran B20 so you would think it would clean it out. Maybe missouri fuel is crap.

I think I finally caught up with ISX for a day run!
Well then my trucks a piece of crap. I got 26.8 BTW haha. WITHOUT the damn A/C, so I'm not sure how you did it with it. And mine was 55mph rolling hills perfectly straight back and forth 40 miles at a time (to work then back). Plus you have 4wd etc. Actually was this with the camper shell? I mean really this makes mine look like crap lol. Makes me happy though cause it means I have lots of room to improve. But just years ago you were topping out at like 20, so what all have you figured out exactly?Thing is, I get the same mileage be it 100 or 0F. I have got the same 26.8 at 55 in both scenarios (actually tested both temps).

And here you told me 30 was impossible and here you have a truck 1500lbs more than mine, several inches taller getting 27...... Are you a believer yet BTW, what were all the vitals reading on this run?

Mike! This is for you!
I don't understand it. Can you explain how it works? He said kinetic energy but that still doesn't tell me anything.

Stainless Diesel VP44 record
Banks joined the damn emission people and is pushing it forward. Maybe you remember how edge got fined big time... Banks isn't exactly the common aftermarket name anymore and I am guessing they have gloomy thoughts of the future so they have gone another route. Fine all the competitors until banks is the only one with money for R&D so they have the product people want again. Gale is telling the government to strengthen emissions and this and that all because his is one of the only ones that passes it, so he can't be touched.

OD button intermittent
I think grounding issues cause a lot of OD grief. I am not sure where the grounds are on these things though.
