  4. Katoom Had the same thing going on with mine. After checking grounds, Batteries and anything else I could think of, with no good results I pulled all wiring from batteries to relays to grid heaters. Found a little corrosion on the connections to the grid heaters. Cleaned all connections and have had 0 trouble since. Also while the squeezed the orange and yellow wires connectors to make better connect.
  5. That would if I had a laser cutter. Maybe Mike could arange something.
  6. Nice job. Who cares if they are brown, there under the hood.
  7. Did mine last year, had a mech. lined up and the shop at work. Mech. got called out of town so did it myself, to change tappet cover gasket. I had more trouble with the fuel lines then the pump. Just make sure key is at 12 o'clock.
  8. Great write up. Wished I had found this when mine leaked after draining and flushing couple years ago, would have saved me half of day worry. The pictures are very good and helpful.
  9. Thanks BBHD. Booked marked site. Get a little more money and will be ordering some. Would be good to have good lights and not spend a fortune.

  15. Just like what I did. This is a good thing. I got the info from this site. Liked it so well did wife's toy and a friend's ford. Am now rebuilding a 2N ford tractor and will do batt cables the same.
  16. Final update Left truck out last night, temps 38 degree. Started just fine grid heaters cycled several times voltage good at 11.9 when heaters on 14.2 when off. No P0122 code. Thanks for all help. Truck running good again.
  17. Update, Did the checks in above post. Cleaned neg wire. Also pulled heater relays and wiring cleaned and dielectric grease. Now waiting for colder weather. This morning it was 48 the grid heaters cycled 3 or 4 times and for once no p0122 code, also the voltage reading was higher this morning. Before when heaters cycled on cold morning I would get 11.3, today 12.2 was lowest reading.Later this week temps are going to be 38 over night so will see then. Thanks for all the help.
  18. Clean grounds. Check connector to VP, mine was loose and acted up. Also I see you have a Super chip, try disconnecting it. See if any difference. One more thing go to Bluechip site and read the articles, lots of good info.
  19. Thanks now I have a starting point. Will post back with results.
  20. Ok cooler weather here and after truck sits for 2 or more days I get a P0122 DTC 3-5 seconds after start. the code is low volt at APPS. I can clear code and it will stay away until the grid heaters cycle after start. I had batteries load tested atl. is good. The batts are 5 years old. All connections are clean and tight. If started and heaters don't cycle then no code.
  21. Looking good. Just checked mine it still looks good after 3 years.
  22. I like the cradle you made, simple yet effective. IMHO you should add OuterWears to filter. I clean mine each oil change the paper still looks clean after 3+ years.
  23. Yes just used enough to keep BHAF from getting against the turbo. Even this way my EGT's are 50 degree lower then before.
