  1. Keep us posted on how it goes....
  2. I love walking around junk yards. I should make a list from my three vehicles and go spend a couple hours exploring. Never know what treasures you may discover. I went once for something for my suburban and came home with the rear cup holder unit that sits under the center seat section. Has never been used, but I like the fact it's there. Plus it was only $5.
  3. OK @JAG1, have you noticed as soon as Big Daddy started responding on this site, things started happening? We are nothing without him.....

  5. I had one crawl up my rear and then take off around me. On come the lights on a car sitting on a side street. I gave a honk as I went by. Karma doesn't happen often enough, but when it does, it's hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣
  6. Must be alot of good weather around the country lately, site has been pretty quiet the last few days. Been rainy and cold here so I tend to check in more frequently, but hasn't been too much going on. Hope everyone is doing well.....
  7. I've heard to use Cascade complete liquid dishwasher soap. It will breakdown the oil like dish soap or laundry soap, but without the foamy suds.....
  8. I use one of these triggered with a switch in the cab. Grid heater wire to one side and a heavy wire from other side to battery positive. Now I can turn them on and shut them off after truck starts. Very convenient. 9. What size do you need? https://www.partspak.com/productcart/pc/Perko-0635DP0-Inlet-Check-Valve-124289p592534.htm
  10. If you do it, let us know how it worked.

  12. JJ, I feel for you. Sounds like you've been through the mill concerning your truck. That's unfortunate. Hopefully you can take a breath and understand what ASC has told you. You already were told your PCM was unfixable. ACS confirmed this at no charge to you. They gave you a price on a replacement. Expensive? Yes! It's what they cost. If you find one that will work for your truck cheaper, that's your call, but you won't know what you're getting without documentation that it is a working unit. You will have that with ACS. You have problems with the truck that are only controlled by the ECM. They found problems with your ECM and fixed them for $400. Could some of your problems be associated with your messed up wiring harness? Yes. It's also possible that the messed up harness damaged the ECM. You definitely need a new mechanic. There have been many people here and on other forums that had their problems fixed using ACS. I'm glad they responded with their side of the story. I will continue to highly recommend them. 2nd gen trucks, and diesels in general, are not for everybody. Repairs when needed can be costly and labor intensive. Electrical issues on 2nd gens can also be a nightmare if you are not well versed in electronics. This site is the sole reason I still own my truck. Lots of knowledge and helpful information here, but you mostly have to be able to do the work yourself as many mechanics don't like customers telling them how or what to do to repair one of these. I wish you good luck with your truck. You sound like you need it. If you're truly done with it, maybe post some pics and take offers.
  13. And we're back....well done. Did this last outage have anything to do with starlink?
  14. When I was at the dealership picking up parts, they fired up a bike for someone. I looked at my wife and said "I never get tired of that sound." She looked at me and said "I have goosebumps. " We get along OK.....🤣🤣🤣
  15. I wish I got winter around here like we used to get years ago. Had about 2 weeks that was winter. Snow, cold, it was great. Last few years, it's been damp, dreary, overcast.....spring like crap. It's very depressing.
  16. In his case, being where it is, he's going to have to plug one fitting so the straw will fit, then run the return to fill neck. I'd prefer that myself anyway.
  17. Way more work than I'd want to do... Best of luck to you.
  18. Not quite done. Waiting on parts seems to be the new normal. It's getting there though. The wrinkle finish on the engine will not look so light once I get the dust washed off. Fairing was in the basement, so I forgot to order the headlight trim ring. I'll just paint it this summer. Waiting on one more cover to come in so I can bolt exhaust back up. Still deciding if I want to do anything with the wheels. I'll ride it this year and decide next winter.
  19. Wouldn't the game warden relocate him?
  20. That an Eclipse convertible sitting there? Bought a red one for my wife awhile back. Had the v6. Fun fun car.
  21. Our truck are kinda like us. The older they get, the more little issues cause problems. Only positive in the truck aging scenario is we can do our own repairs. I try to tell the youth around me, there is nothing better than knowing how to use a wrench. If you can do that, someone can tell you what you need to do. Very seldom do I let someone repair anything.........(thanks dad)
  22. Sorry to hear about the family member passing. Condolences to the family. 98 is quite the life.
