  1. This is the original (thermostat) that came out of my '02 and the one I replaced it with (box). The one that went in looked like the pic on the box. It's been three years since I replaced it. Don't remember why I replaced it. Wasn't giving me problems. I think I was flushing the cooling system so I replaced the thermostat while I had it apart. Looked different from the original, but has been working fine.
  2. Take belt off and try again. If noise goes away, check for bad bearing somewhere.... Also check to make sure your starter isn't staying engaged....
  3. How the heck did that happen?
  4. Molar manπŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Let me chew on that awhile..... I love technology......NOT I don't know if it was just psychological or not, but after doing the ground mod on my truck, it seemed to start easier/quicker and shifts felt better. Don't forget the PCM ground mod also.

How did you manage to dislocate your toes? That sounds extremely unpleasant.
  6. Didn't Chrysler corp build a viper v-10 bike? The Tomahawk I think? I'll have to check the Googler.... It was Dodge... Four wheels does not a motorcycle make....but it was cool https://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/guides/10-must-know-facts-about-the-dodge-tomahawk-ar196350.html
  7. I think me n him could be brothers... Mmmmmmm, chili cheese Fritos....
  8. Very nice article. While I was watching, I thought a bit of editing wouldn't hurt, but then I thought, hey, I'm not the only one that fights a simple fitting for a few minutes, or picks up a tool and others fall into the abyss.πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ Wish I had a garage or even pavement to work on. This is what I get the joy of doing repairs on......
  9. You're going to love it. Can't imagine not having one now that I'm older. My body doesn't crouch or bend like it used to.
  10. Quite sad really. When I started operating heavy equipment back in '79/80, Cat was the holy grail of heavy equipment. When I retired a few years ago, Cat machines were few and far between.
  11. I have this in my shed for when I have any problems. I'll replace everything from the pump to the firewall. If you put the part number into the Googler, there are many options. I just figured it's easier to replace it all rather than search for a failure point.....
  12. 7 minute mark you show the splice in the fill hose and start to take it apart, then at 9:27 it repeats the 7-9:27 section. This is in the second vid posted. BTW, these videos are nice to see. Glad to know I'm not the only one that gets his hands and wrench in a tight spot only to realize it's the wrong size...πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
  13. If you run out I guarantee you'll know what kind of mood she's in....you live dangerously my friend......
  14. Looking at the forecast, I may hold off until it cools down a bit. I'll get the seal tomorrow and be ready.
  15. We will probably never get all the facts or truth. Even if everything was honest and straightforward, the government and the politicians have lied, twisted, spun, deceived and hid truths before, that I don't and can't believe a single thing coming from government or politicians from every level. Sad but true.
  16. Update: Axel seal driver's side is starting to fail. At risk of great embarrassment to myself, hoping my neighbors didn't see me, I climbed under truck to smell my rear end....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Took a light and looked inside the wheel. A moist ring is beginning to show on the wheel. Goes to show, trust your nose when you smell something different than usual. When I replaced them before I did both. Napa had one SKF seal and one National seal. Wish I'd had paid attention to which seal went on which side....not that it really matters, but for curiosity sake. Guess I have a project for the weekend.....
  17. Ah yes. Only seen one of those a few years ago but it was cable and crank operated. Should be handy. When I read hydraulic, I imagined an electric motor/pump with a controller like a larger truck mounted crane, just on a smaller scale.
  18. Any pics of said unit? Sounds interesting.
  19. OK, if you're brave enough to check this out, here's my issue. I drive my truck 5 miles or 50 miles, when I park and get out of truck, I smell gear lube.....alot. Hot gear lube. When I bought this truck 3 years ago, about 3 months into ownership, I smelled gear lube. It's unmistakable. Found an axel seal was leaking and saw gear lube on the tire after sitting overnight. Removed both axels and replaced outer seals. Fast forward to about a year ago. Started smelling gear lube again. Haven't found any signs of axel leakage at all. Is it possible I'm just smelling gear lube from the vent tube? The thing that has me puzzled is I don't remember smelling it this bad the last couple years. I haven't pulled the dually wheels yet, as it's a pain in the arse. After typing this out, I guess my next step is pull the wheels and see what I can see...... that's the advice I'd give someone. Funny how typing something is different from thinking something.... Well, instead of erasing all this, I'll pull the wheels tomorrow and let you know what I find. Maybe leaving this will help someone else.
  20. Shame really that such a simple thing can render such an expensive technical system worthless. Very irritating to say the least.
  21. Don't know what happened. I've been driving my truck with the edge stuck on 1x1 as posted earlier. Truck runs well but not very exciting. Yesterday I was driving and truck felt real sluggish. Looked down and the edge was off. Figured it bit the dust completely. Pushed the power button and it lit all five bars. Truck immediately felt fun again. So now it's on 5x? I'm not going to touch it. Don't know what happened but I'm glad it did. Still want a quad, but with having to put so much into the Ford this year, that got put on hold. Here's to hoping I can enjoy my truck for the rest of the year....🍻🍻🍻
  22. Looking good. Glad there are no reflective areas on the truck as I see you like to work with your pants off....πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ‘
  23. With your respect for others and your attitude of not being afraid to learn, you'll have no trouble learning your truck. Never be afraid to ask for help. The knowledge here is incredible.
