  1. My alternator is barely under the marginal acceptable level for A/C noise, so whenever I need to clean battery posts the hunting always tells me when it needs doing again. About every three months or so. Once I only retightened batt cables and it went away for a week or so, but ultimately had to get them clean and bright again..
  2. We saw 42*F early on the 22nd. Been lighting small fires last couple days. Typically I winterize about mid November out here on the west side of Cascades. That was a tough end of summer for us out West with all the smoke and heat.
  3. Does it seem early to you Mike? Seems like we are burning wood earlier this year.
  4. So most likely quieter weather in the fall. My wife commented too that last year while traveling to Nebraska in May the storms were surprisingly violent while driving. Fall would have better colors too.
  5. Thanks to you all for the information. Looks like end of may weather is highs in the lower 70's and lows in the low 40's. Perfect weather but also heard there is more thunder storms and rain in may than most other mos. Never really know.
  6. I think you can unscrew the packing nut around the valve stem and remove the valve that way, Instead of redoing the whole thing. Might be a replaceable valve tip needle or something.
  7. Good area to make a base camp then, drop off camper for a few days and just use the truck. IBM I'm thinking last week of May just before schools get out and before any summer heat or smoke from fires. When does school get out anyway? Another place close for the Base camp is Devils Tower
  8. Yep, thanks Wild and Free I had locations confused. Yes I'm interested in both if anyone can recommend some must see or some must avoid places, I would be very thankful. Oh yeah some great campgrounds too if any struck you the right way.
  9. Just wondering if that is a good place to go see. Any must see or must do while there?
  10. Thanks all. Just changed both filters and no difference big filter has built in air bleed and did that but erratic F/P has showed its ugly face again after months of steady pressure at 19. Thought this problem was solved . Going to the auto parts store and see if a run will make a difference. I got an air leak on the suction side, has to be there somewhere as a leak would show on the pressure side of lift pump. wondering about those Quick connects... I heard sometimes are a problem. Update: I found problem... Before my run to the store I moved the quick connect at the draw straw shoved it tighter spun it back and forth. I started up and knew right away the problem was gone. Gauge was smooth and went all the way to 17. No bouncing around. After a few miles gauge showed a steady 19. That's back to normal now. Finally narrowed it down
  11. Okay thank you. It's bouncing around sometimes and too low pressure when cold but takes way too long to get to the 19 it's set at so I'm changing the big filter again to see what happens.
  12. Any one know if an Isspro F/P gauge can be disconnected at the back to bleed off the air and then reinserted and retightened without buying a new compression wring? I'm not aware of how the plastic tube is sealed whether a compression wring like plumbing or what
  13. MoparMan has no time to advise an old guy still driving a buck board and using a flip phone. He stuck on using every new advancement available.
  14. Which one for a guy that refuses to get away from the flip phones? I know nothing and have two second gen Dodges so please help as to which complete tool...... not just an 'app', as I want the whole tool... Thank you, from stubborn old shyt head.
  15. Are you talking about the new 'hood' ornament that is a chrome gang member, looks like swiss cheese cause he got drilled for vandalizing? I think our trucks represent success and hard work..... don't like the idea of actually doing real work to pay for one. It's too bad if they never have the chance to experience true accomplishment. The schools fail our youth in this way painting a picture that being smart is the way and real work to be avoided, when real work is the one thing that comes with much profit and is the only thing that gets things done the right way.
  16. IBM's truck sounds like, 'wing ding ding', a two stroke Kawasaki since he puts mostly TCW-3 and only little bit of diesel. After much argument over this we decided to go to gun range and his truck got us there
  17. Is work that thing I do so much, so often and so automatic that I can hardly breath when I take time off? Is that what it is?
  18. I'm glad your doing well. This econ seems to be holding up. Wise to save money for the next economic swing Joe. I 've seen a couple too many of them DDT's (darn down turns).
  19. With the work I see you doing on your truck the company should never turned you loose. I think you'll be at a better job very soon.
  20. Wish I could reduce the size so it would load faster for you guys. It's very interesting to me. There's a point in the video when it looks like it stops, but its just me holding the phone recorder very still. So keep watching.
  21. Next year gets the generator hooked up to it. We figure it has approx. 18 horses. It was built to supply power to 3 of the original cabins around there. I was glad to be a part of getting it going again and learned a lot on why the engineers did their design/ plans on the poured concrete spillway back then. It is well planned and smart. BTW, the wheel is approx. 7 feet in diameter.
  22. I didn't know Chevy built 4 wd tractors with a nice warm winter cab. lol. I bet that rig could plow the fields for you.
  23. Cool Work you guys are doing. Here is a Vid of my last job before meeting up with IBMobile at our mountain lake camp. This was built in the 30's and got it going again after many years with new bearings, feed box overflow trough. Me and a fabricator designed and he built the gate and we both installed .I hope you like it. 0908171302.3g2
  24. Mopar is right. Two or three years down the road you'll start noticing fuel pressure on the weak side. Starts to barely hold 14 psi. You use regulator to turn it up, but then it gets weaker shortly after that. So on my other truck I put on the AD150 for only a few more bucks. It was well worth the little extra money. I called AD told them about the weak 100 and they sent me a 150. I think they are trying to be good people again. I'm very happy with them. Eric at Vulcan performance is your friend for parts, price and advice. Extra filtration is very importand so should remove the screens and place a canister filter before the lift pump on the frame. Tiney little screen inside lift pump inlet should be removed too.
  25. The oscillation plunge cutter works wonders in hard to reach places. I couldn't get a sazall blade to get in there when cutting off some welded in Air Bags. Welded to the goose neck frame it buzzed them right off. Nice and loud though Nick is your son name Arizona? Dripley, is it true a fifth wheel helps save marriages? I heard cause a guy has a pretty good place to go to when goin gets rough.
