Northern California Fires
Something like 1500 homes have been destroyed, is that right? I lived in Cotati back in the 70s and you used to never hear about so many fires. Why is this happening? Even into the Pacific N.W. and British Columbia.

Adjusting/ tightening steering box/ wheel play
So you know its time to adjust the screw when everything else tight, but find yourself over compensating the wheel to keep her straight down the road Dripley Thank you for the 180 warning I appreciate that.

Madness...
Everyday I hear about the teaching of, or the poisening of young folks with the schools opinions/ agenda. Like news, its bunch a BS without the research and facts of reality. One pastor I listen to says these times we have more 'truth decay' than tooth decay. Wish I could use a wire brush and scrub away the news using opinions presented as fact. It's so phony baloney. I can't watch TV much any longer, especially those that are a bad example of a human being with no moral character as man or woman. Without God and the 10 commandments there is no education

Adjusting/ tightening steering box/ wheel play
I think I remembered about certain things you when adjusting steering play. Don't bear down hard on the adjustment screw, turn wheel back and forth making very small adjustments each time, raise the front off the ground....... That sort of thing? Thanks for any advice. BTW, My truck knows the way to these kinds of places

Madness...
There is a lot in the news designed to make us think we are getting the 'real' scoop. If these trained journalists would start to do research on what and why some info is not getting in the scoop, they'd knock the ball out of the park. 1. Have natural disasters increased in their intensity and frequency since 1950? 2. Chem poisens from aircraft... whats it really doing. There's times in the morning with the sun shining that the sky is full of contrails to such an extent sunlight becomes dulled down or even blocked.. 3. Are cancers more prevalent now than ever

Alex you must be a young guy cause you explain everything at a fast pace. It is interesting none the less. Are you saying they are poisoning all of us with the lead still allowed in jet fuel so they don't have to pay our social security for too long? I know EPA is crooked cause they allow the lead and make things harder on the poor consumers' At any rate I do think the contrails are doing more harm than us driving our cars/ trucks. Studies show rates of cancer greater the closer you live to an airport. Guys with Cummins trucks live longer

24v stalls when put in gear
Yeap that's what mine was doing it stalled only after the first start up for the day, after that I could roll to a complete stop and she wouldn't stall. Are you sayin she stalls every time you come to a stop? Gently raise the idle with right foot with left hard on the brake, but don't do it in traffic... do on gravel rd or large parking lot area. See if you can get fluid circulating around that TC. Don't do it forever or excessive, just see if you can get some improvement. Are my thoughts

24v stalls when put in gear
I don't know a whole lot but need to ask.... Could this just be a break in problem on a new TC? My truck with low miles stock trans started this locked up stalling biz. I just got it rolling on hills before I dropped it in gear and it eventually went away and never came back. Would coming to a stop, foot hard on the brake and rev up a little so she don't stall, help with the break-in?

Sorry but not sorry Mopar1973Man
Interesting about your dad. As I understand it after Pearl Harbor the main talk across America was to join up and get those guys. We sure pulled together when needed as even the woman joined in to help build weapons.

Dripley my Father was also USMC. I tried to sign up after college but they don't want guys with one kidney. I was going to try sneak it past them but at the last min I couldn't bring myself to lie about it.

Yes thank you for your service. That is a nice gift and also looks like you take excellent care of your truck. My dad served in Korea and Vietnam. Learned what price we all pay when 7 of us lost our Dad in Da Nang . When I hear about the kneelers during our national anthem it makes me sick thinking of the disrespect toward all those who gave their all. Think of the families had to live without a loved one..... so sad.

Advice before purchase
I looked for awhile and would say 10 -12k would be a nice one, but I've seen asking prices 18-20k if they are exceptional. This in Portland, Oregon area. Some nice looking with the right upgrades, but on looking a little closer often one begins to see some things hashed together. I learned to look closely not letting the seller distract me.

I paid way too much... $16 K for an 01 190,000 mile Ram 2500 4x4, but the truck is way way too nice with all options and very well cared for tight, tight truck not molested or fondled,.

Advice before purchase
I think I'd keep looking and find one well cared for all that is original and less miles. That way you can make your own mods and know whats in it when it set up the way you want.

Advice before purchase
look for winter package with thicker insulated walls. You tell by looking at the window frame. Mine is 1 inch insulation and is thin window frames. It's not good with bad condensation build up. Next, look for heated or enclosed tanks. BTW. only Ford makes a Dully, Dodge makes Dually. lol

Also try getting a twin axle camper/ trailer so if you get a flat you still have a chance to pull off in a safe spot to change it. Twin axle is good for the contents inside since dips and potholes smooth out better having at least one wheel on the even road surface at all times. I carry a 3000 lb truck camper when fully loaded on a single rear wheel camper package truck. Its okay but takes some getting used to on the road. My next rv will be a fifth wheel since the hitch is more midship with less tail wag feel, since that it is what others are telling me.- junk in bottom of fresh oil containers.
I've seen this before using Delo 400 CI-4 on my old first gen. I posted about it on the Bombers forum when several guys said it is the additives settling in the bottom is all. I hope they're right. There shouldn't be any grit feel to it when you put it btwn your fingers. - Advice before purchase
