Oil change
JMHO, I would also stay with the oil that the engine is used to running.

Im a bit overwhelmed...
I heard that too.... that some are worse and make the chance for skin cancer even greater. You hear all sorts of things that you never know for sure anymore. I know that probably the most important thing is to try making our elders proud of what we are doing in life and try to make them have a good time as much as we can. Life is so short, so on Fathers day I let my daughters shoot my Henry rifle as much as they wanted and they loved it. After the big bar-b-que we made up a game for cash prizes, of course dad did the pay outs, but what a pleasure to see them having so much fun. And my wife tried so hard for the big prize she kept blowing it. It was hilarious.

Im a bit overwhelmed...
Prayers from Oregon if you think He will listen to a not so perfect Cummins addict. I feel for her and you, it's tough realizing what short time we have with one another. My dear mother is really up there in years and only get to see her twice a year. I worry too because I've gotten sun burned the last few days.

Front end lift questions
if you do the spacers I know you need to be able to lift a bit higher to get them in so I had to take links loose off the sway bar. I was able to reuse the oem links but they were under a lot of pull so I got the 2 inch longer ones.

Engine miss
Clogged filter bad fuel from a long storage? Change filter also Is there any chance there is a filter before the lift pump. I'm hoping Otherwise clogged tank screens?

Front end lift questions
Have to take out the drag links or end links on the sway bar and go long or shorts depending.

Front main seal
We changed the crank seal on a 12 valve first gen... left the front but pulled the fan and pully comes off easy with right tools (just one big nut), pulled fan shroud too along with water pump and engine oil fill neck. We also tabbed the KDP killer dowel pin.

Front main seal
just bought my 2001 with an oil leaks. Turned out the oil pan bolts weren't torqued.( Make sure not to overtighten) Then the puke bottle was in there for 190,000 miles never been cleaned/ emptied was overflowing like niagra I cleaned up the engine w/ degreaser and plumbed the puke bottle straight down below, let it breath down there.. Power steering fluid was also leaking. It stopped leaking when I flushed it out a few times and put new fluid.

Front end lift questions
and when set back down the front axle needs adjusting back to center with adjustable track bar. The two inch lift was fun for little while.

Worth trying....Olive Oil on truck.
When dusty it seems no more than without the oil, and wipes right off not gummed up. Skeptics Two weeks later in the outdoors the Mcquires is all gone, dry, but the olive oil, although more dry looking than when first put, on still looks like it conditioned the plastic without the chaulky white coming back.

Front end lift questions
I'm going to do that, but not sure about the part where you jack up the truck and leave the front differential hanging. Then remove the shock tower and the spacer will lift out? Is that right?

trreed's upgrade thread
I got the fuel return going into the fill neck.. I will know in about a day if that solves the remaining 10-20% of the F/P gauge fluctuation. Used to be all over the place when first installed and I think an indication of air and/or cavitation problems.

Front end lift questions
most likely non adjustable but needs to be the 2003 upgrade. No problem we can do it at the eclipse camp and take Michael Nelsons off his truck. He won't miss it.

trreed's upgrade thread
I have a pre filter that tends to hold an air pocket above the filter in the filter head. It keeps building air in there coming in from the draw straw. I bleed it off and it develops again. So last night a plumber friend of mine made me a filler neck piece with a half inch 'T' so I can plumb in the return to the fill neck. If this doesn't stop the air the next thing will be to cut off the quick connect at the draw straw and hose clamp it in place. Todays project anyway

Front end lift questions
I can't tell which is bigger... the background or that mountain of hay notlimah, I'm going to put my front end back to stock, taking out the two inch level kit. I have the 03 adjustable track bar, longer end links and the two inch spacers. If you want them mine still look shiny and new, but you have to get me a non adjustable 03 track bar for a replacement and help me with it if you want.

Soliciting Recommendations for an ECM source or Rebuilder
the link above, the article will show you what to look or on the relay to be able to tell if its the protective type. As far as I know no one ever knew about this until IBM wrote about it.

Soliciting Recommendations for an ECM source or Rebuilder
I understand there are two kinds of relays Dave. They are all used on our aftermarket lift pumps but some have a protective diode built in and some do not. I think that is correct.

trreed's upgrade thread
So how do you have the fuel tank level sending unit mounted without the basket? Or am I missing something?

Soliciting Recommendations for an ECM source or Rebuilder
My trucks have lift pump relays but I don't have protection relays on either truck, should I put in say, a 5 amp fuse for temporary protection?

trreed's upgrade thread
Alex/ Diesfuture, Real quick because off topic.... do you have a link? BBHD, want to hear what you find is causing the air/ cavatation

trreed's upgrade thread

When it rains it pours
I had no idea your engine was getting ready for a beauty pageant. lol It's a winner

Soliciting Recommendations for an ECM source or Rebuilder
I wonder if it is due to the lift pump failing/ drawing too many amps and then grid heater beginning to fail with same results??
