Factory Heated Seat Replacement
That's cool. Love hearing stuff like that . My 01 had a shorted wire going to the heat pad. Had to carefully cut the foam away. I guessed that the wire gauge is too small for the amps so I cut out the shorted wire going to the pad and soldered in new heavier gauge wire with shrink tube over the joints.

How hot are you?
Update; Got permission to go up to the highest hill near me and saw the smoke heading not toward us but, heading NW, which is heading toward some very expensive homes/estates along there. That is the direction of the evacuation orders too. So for now, with the winds dying down I would say we, at least, are okay for now. The fire started to the entrance of a state park, probably a cigarette butt or something. I hope IBMobile doesn't kick me out of the camp club for waxing religious, I still need to chisel him a bunch more. He barely says his diner blessing, that turkey!

How hot are you?
72 degrees at 5 am this morning! They have us under level 1 evacuation orders which means get ready to evacuate. The fire is about 10/12 miles east of us. Winds seems to be getting less blustery with sort of a steady wind. With the twilight I can see smoke/ haze on the horizon. Have faith, we never seen so much dry tinder like this except the last couple years, Oregon was always green even late summer. Not anymore. I think this world drought we are seeing is not from gas and diesel vehicles, it's from the polluting of our children's minds and heart. The paradigm in our world today of a Godless and progressive world, a spiritual drought as it were, neglecting Gods love, not letting him forgive us by admitting our faults and learning to be forgiving toward others. I don't care what you think... time will prove God is right not you nor I.

How hot are you?
Glad to hear. We all can't take the heat much longer. This so called fire storm has now been down graded to a normal September east wind. No 'Fire Storm' like that of 2020 and not many getting their power shut off. This is good as I was on alert filling everything possible with water and placing it in the JD tractor trailer to haul to a fire. Even the temps aren't bad at 85 degrees at 1pm. @Tractorman, if only you could get them to shut down that wind bag in DC !

Thank you, I think they are tending toward lowering the wind speed and temps in the forecast I'm hoping anyway.

How hot are you?
Well summer is going out with an extreme fire danger episode in my area. Going to have 40 knot east winds and possible 100 degree temps. We are irrigating 24/7 again, two tall sprinklers running in circles. Jugs of water filled including the RV since PGE sent an emergency alert that they may shut the power off so no well water if that happens. We shall see but, it is not supposed to be as bad as labor day 2020 when we had extreme fire weather. Back then the weather brought out the worse in people with arsonists attempting to see what damage they can cause. There were fires everywhere. Many people where saying they will shoot any and all arsonists/ looters. Say prayers for us and all my good neighbors all around. This forested land we all live in with 27 families all within this little dead end area. Only one way out. Thank you all for your prayers.

Fass 150 question I shouldn't be asking.
X2 here. Mine seperates it to the bottom as it should, has a drain. Only thing is, you have to add a skid plate to protect the drain and clear plastic bowl. Two or three times I have had to drain mine in 500 k miles. That's on 3 different Ram/ Cummins trucks. Water seperator type filter should be before the lift pump, designed for the suction side whatever that means, so the lift pump does not emulsify the water into the fuel like and egg beater. Plus traps sediment to protect the lift pump. My pre filters to both trucks I have are 30 micron and the secondary filters are the factory filters either Wix, Baldwin or Mopar filters with a tight Micron. don't know what level micron. My set up is used on many Diesels and has proven itself over many years. Other guys don't like the vulnerable drain and just use a canister type pre filter and the secondary filter after the lift pump.

Yep, I really shouldn't post such things on a forum with all the nut and bolts Cummins brains on here! Where else can I go that I would find such great thinkers of our time? Certainly not the College forums... heaven forbid!

Best not to trust anyone too much, try to figure things out on your own because we have that stupid 'quiet quitting' bull chit going on everywhere like a passive aggressive mental case. I am very disappointed about the way these pernicious ways are taking over this country.

F'ing Ford Ranger
2 Peter Chapter 2 verses 1-10 hits it exactly on the nail head. I know you guys don't want to hear it but its uncanningly weird that it was written over 2000 yrs ago and parallels so much of whats happening today. Don't throw wrench at me okay?.

F'ing Ford Ranger
Lets go Branden must drive a ford, did you hear what he called Americans in his speech? I think he should resign as the man is clearly evil and I'm now convinced he is guilty of many treasonous acts. We already have the wild west in the cities, why instigate more. The guy is completely sick.

I see no dents in it from flying wrenches, it must be good.

How hot are you?
Indications fall is on its way, thankfully, as it is 67 degrees at 11pm instead of 75 or 85 like it was each evening all August long. Too hot it was.

What doing tonight? Spark plugs on 5.9L Cummins
That and asking for the new Tesla style injectors to go with it.

Sorry about the frustration Mike. I know things like that go beyond anyone's patience. Sometimes it's best to step away from it for a day or so.

F'ing Ford Ranger
I can imagine breaking all time sales records if sensible mechanically inclined guys like those on this forum were to design and build a truck the way it needs to be. Just a dream but, cool to think about.

F'ing Ford Ranger
Do you think Ford deliberately engineers these important servicing areas so as to make it tough? I wonder since a DIYer could spread some fast running news about how great it is to work on a particular vehicle. People would go out looking to buy them with news like that. How can they be so far removed from owners needs?

How hot are you?
@Threadzy, That's going to be great eatin' for sure. We were very warm last nite up till midnight. Our daytime high yesterday reached 97 in my area. That's hot for late August. Now this morning you can feel marine air pushing in from the coast. It's very weak so it may mean about 5 degrees cooler today. We have had an all time record heat for the month of August and it is unusual to not have much ocean air cooling like we used to get almost every nite around here.

F'ing Ford Ranger
I always thought it be nice to have one of those Rangers, a small truck to run around in but, now I don't think so. Ford does weird stuff. Me I'd think about cutting an access hole in the floor instead of lifting the cab.

@ThreadzyNice fish! Is that Sea Bass? I wouldn't know but, I bet it put up a sporting fight. Thank you for the links @wil440 that was a good taste of what things are like there. Most of our history started in the 1840's, far more recent by comparison. There was a couple indians in the 1850's that got caught stealing in Oregon city and were taken out to our area and hung and buried. No one knows exactly where but was somewhere out where we are. I don't think I want to find them. When we dug for the foundation to our house we found one lonely brick down about 2 feet. I was very strange.

How hot are you?
What amazing history so close to you wil440, interesting as all get out. Why are you wasting time working? LOL MoparMan, when the wood is on your own property you spend a lot more time cleaning up. Where as on forest service property you can cut and leave.

How hot are you?
Thanks Dan, interesting read. As many as 6,000 mature 3/400 year old trees to build one naval warship. Devastation to the UK's forests reached far beyond its borders importing from many other countries to maintain the worlds' most superior Navy.

We have forest around us mainly to keep the privacy which is important. In back of me there is about 1 or 2 thousand acres of timber land privately owned. I have permission to go on there anytime but can't cut firewood. Amazing place with no one else around. So quiet when no planes fly over. Anytime you drive into the woods the temps are always cooler. Sometimes as much as 10 degrees cooler than just 20 mins away. @wil440 Did most of your Oak trees get harvested from large ship building back in the days of square rigger sailing ships?
