  1. I also think the planet may be in trouble. In the New Testament when talking about end times it says, ''many will become concerned about the whole Earth''. It talks about that in terms of how we are to not worry but, rather increase our faith. Be at peace with everyone and ''Let not your hearts be troubled'' We can't change what God says will happen even talks about how the earth will become polluted. Please don't be annoyed at me for saying the things above. I never push it but, at times needs to be said to help maybe help some.
  2. Thank you Nick, you always have certain perspective. My neighbor charges his EV over night off his solar panels, it is a very small car he runs around for free to make errands. There may be an electric Bike in my future, that's about it but, I don't like the battery near or between my legs.
  3. Hey Mike wouldn't a Honda 2200 watt generator save this lady? All she needs is to cut a hole in the side for a gen compartment and the exhaust piped outside. This would keep the batteries charged, making the lifetime of the batteries last forever. Right? Too bad that lady has to swear like that... looses credibility with me. May have had time to fix the home charger instead of getting into a fix. At least the electrician should have been called right away and mentioned if he couldn't make it on time.
  4. Dieselfuture is one person that used to do that. The way he took care of his truck is a nice bunch of diligent work too. I know he didn't have any problems either. He absconded from the website or something anyway because we haven't seen him on for many months now.
  5. Gov't. needs the road taxes since they are so exhausted from such hard work and so little benefits.
  6. Mike can you tell me why the trees are dying along interstate 5 and not dying along the lonely back roads? Something I observed on my last camp trip.
  7. Not to mention how soon the batteries need replacing and cost involved. Technology to recycle the old is still a huge problem. Generally speaking there is a direct correlation between price tag, amount of money flow and the amount of environmental impact in any given market. This indicator is true around the globe. When GDP is totaled each year it gives an indication of how much air, water, soil, is affected on average by each individual for that economy or market. Look how little we spend keeping our second gens going. The older they get the cooler they are IMHO.
  8. I too, am hoping for a Happy Thanksgiving for everyone and their families.
  9. The tire shop employee was in the seat when the truck lurched forward into the brick wall. Both rear wheels were laying rubber when he finally got the clutch engaged. It damaged only the brick and not the storefront window. They did not want to have me pay for the brickwork. They were more than nice about it. if the truck had pinned someone walking by it could have crippled even killed them.
  10. I had the safety switch eliminated on my 1st gen. It caused some near misses one of which my truck almost drove thru the shop rear wall. It pushed the table saw into the work bench and the work bench started to go thru the wall before I stopped it. Worse because it drove over a bucket of old engine oil laying there, a big mess. Sometimes you just forget....stupid me, I hit the key to start when standing outside the truck. Truck door hit the shop and pinched my legs hard. I was bruised for awhile. Lucky I stayed with the truck till I got it shut down. Second time I told the tire shop to make sure the clutch is pushed in when starting but, he forgot and it hit the front wall with a big glass window before he got it stopped. Truthfully, I would never go without a clutch safety switch JMHO.
  11. Welcome to the website, I learned to never try and stomp it with you guys when the light turns green. LOL
  12. Snap On diagnostics screen can show a dead spot. Had this happen when cold just like you and when it showed, we changed out to the Timbo APPS right then no more problems until year later when the VP gave me one hard start when already warmed up. Drove another couple thousand miles and got the VP changed. Should be carrying a Timbo APPS under the seat as they are the most reliable for the long haul.
  13. Thanks so much John. If not many are interested I can rent the smaller group site. I don't want to lose the open window to reserve it for late May if we wait too long. If it is just a few of us we can go for regular campsites. I will spring for Mike Nelson's 3 nites and yours since your going to check it out. What a nice offer, thank you John. I am also very interested in Strawberry Mountain campground since it looks really good but, others have warned about the last mile of road, so I am staying with Magone Lake for now. This can turn into some real fun. I wish IBMobile would move out of the bricks, become a Redneck and move into the sticks. Then he'd be close enough to show up. LOL
  14. How many are interested in going to Magone Lake, Oregon? There is Hiking, Biking, Fishing and yes ATVs ! I must verify about ATV's since only one website said they are allowed. Group camp will be paid for, so no camping fees Want to go in May as there is time available to reserve the largest group area. If interested I am thinking three nights would be good but, give me an idea what your thoughts are on that. I picked this area for several reasons, one is the general location to everyone that enjoys camping plus the amenities. This is your chance to meet Michael Nelson since he will be there. If enough interest develops we would have a diesel round up each year in other interesting locations of your choice.
  15. Yes it's over. Im waiting for more comments for places to go otherwise I will just pick a place and time.
  16. So did I make on the turd list then? I have apologized, you know. I did not know others made you sensitive about your hair. I though it was to get reactions bud and when I say crew cut that was kidding. I don't understand when you say to make fun of friends with friends. I guess I went too far and I am sorry. I know I asked you to stop swearing on the phone only to help you Mike.
  17. @Mopar1973Man, I am sorry that you could not tell that I have been joking around, I was not trying to be a negatron. Remember years ago you told me it's okay to make jokes about and with friends. The crew cut thing was to joke about the wig only not you boss.Same with the transvestite comment... it was meant for a smile or laugh since everyone knows it not true. I am very sorry I came across so very wrong and won't do that anymore. Peace.
  18. You are a good Man Mike to help so many Diesel enthusiasts but, You need a hair cut real bad. I think a crew cut would be in order. BTW, I been real lax about posting up some camping pics. I will do that hopefully by the weekend. I even got Tractorman and MoparMan on hikes we took. Man we had fun and IBMobile's grandson is a good kid, we did about an eight miler. Dan is a very lucky Grampa.
  19. Nice straight tight looking camper @Hutch24v Yes I made up that part about the flowered apron Hey you guys, guess what? we have a transvestite running our website
  20. Your welcome. I should of got a pic of you doin' our dishes wearing the apron with the flowers
  21. Forgot to say that it's good to have shut off ball valves on the fuel line before and after the prefilter. I helps prevent priming loss, fuel drain back. Also use them to shut off fuel in bad neighborhoods to prevent theft. I think there may be a way to put a lock on any of the two shut off valves. Haven't figured how. Mike knows a good way for security. I wouldn't want a truck like yours to get taken since it is an eye catcher.
  22. Not according to my camping bill from last spring
  23. Only you don't want those screens in the bottom if they are there. Remove those and provide a nice water separating prefilter before the lift pump then a high micron factory filter before the injection pump. In my opinion the 12 valve high micron factory filters under near the intake are way too dinky. Forgive me if I am repeating what you probably already know... need emoticon that has the whole crowd rolling their eyes at me.
  24. I did that once but, what I thought I looked like and what I saw was two very different things. Man, I'm uuuuglyyy on the screen. It was awful, couldn't wait to get off.
  25. My 92 that I had for 23 years never had an in tank pump, ran off the cam, mounted on the side of the block. Later on I changed the original mechanical pump, lasted 250 k, so I thought it time to change. Never had the newer version go more than 100k miles. When comparing new to old, bought from Cummins, the newer was built cheaply. I would go for one on the frame with a prefilter.
