  1. Just keep doing the best you can, in spite of your ailments, as the US government becomes increasingly counterfeit in printing money and making hard working people pay for it later on with real labor. I perceive we have not abolished slavery at all when you see how much they borrow and spend. Portland Oregon has a counterfeit government that won't keep the streets clean and crime free, won't do any hard work, yet they get fat retirements and at the same time dwindle the value of our 401 K accounts by spending and spending. Portland fire chief retired with 45k a month income yet can't order the use of a simple fire hose to stop the rioting and vandals. A possible civil war! Let the media fight that one out among themselves. They are the ones claiming it but, if we don't stop the crime we are going to see the wild west return. So with the police forces ineffective as they are, allowing an inch and the criminals taking a mile, why not hire undercover vets to watch the safety of our citizens. Special training licensed to go undercover everywhere they go?
  2. Think of the poor mechanics that have to replace it free under warranty, I wish these companies would learn to buck this trend of going 2nd rate and build a good reputation. No loyalty to the customers anymore, it's really sad.
  3. As long as you don't pick up the fuel supply from anywhere near the hot returning fuel .
  4. weird never heard that. My 92 which I sold had an aftermarket tank level float off of an old American car. the original Dodge Plastic float disintegrated in the fuel so I adapted the copper float to the sender arm and been in there at least 20 years. I know the new owner and he's had no problem. My 02 has had the copper tube (very short piece) in there since 2006. I just researched your info MoparMan, yes It is true, I had to see it for myself. Thank you for that.
  5. I increased the return line size to fit the fill vent by stepping up the size of rubber hose. I sleeved over the smaller return line with a piece of larger hose and copper tubing inside to clamp the 2 together. Be better to use barbed brass that will increase the hose size but I never have seen a barbed straight that increases hose size. Probably is somewhere.
  6. I accidentally put the chain oil into the empty fuel tank yesterday. Man, what a senior moment... hate this getting old thinking I can get more done if I hurry. Dumped that out added straight gas and rinsed it out, put the mixed with 2 stroke in there with chain oil in the right place. Wow she fired right up and is running smoother than ever. Must have cleared some dirt in the tank or something. I got about half of it cut and the heat was coming on and quit. I have a chair in the woodshed for when I run out of steam. Works perfect.
  7. So you limit the amount of time you work by how long the tank lasts?
  8. I worked on it this morning from 7:30 to 1:30 (cooler) getting it stacked and sorted since some are too long to go into the wood stove I need to cut 2 -5 inches off on about half the load. Person I bought it from did not know what wood it is so when I started cutting I found it to be so hard the chainsaw won't cut very well. After sharpening the blade 3 times I got about halfway thru the longer ones but, man what a dang hard wood and so dry. A good deal for 140 bucks delivered. Lesson learned... cut Oak when its green and softer. Cleaning up all the sawdust/ small chips is handy to put in paper bags so you can start a fire with the bag, makes it easy to get the fire going. @IBMobile she likes to pretend you built her a cabin in the woods. If you run out of wood she'll be looking at mountain home plans real fast.
  9. Well it's that time again for firewood. We still have a couple/ three warm months to help it season and dry so it's a good time to be thinking about getting that going. Jag1's Almanac only says it's going to be cold this winter with rain, snow wind. How perceptive!
  10. Copper prices are going up, now I see why
  11. Same here and it ain't the end of the world neither. It was all a plannedemic to bilk the American people.
  12. They screwed up the economic balance in this country with covid policies, free money, no evictions etc. Now look at the aftermath. If the Dems would do nothing at all would be best. The death rate per capita is no worse than a flu season and so we end up with panic inflation and landlords stuck with having to up the rents. Every time the vax doesn't work they call it a variant. My research says they never isolated the covid virus to identify it in the first place because it's so small it's impossible. to separate it from other virus. impossible to centrifuge it out. One report removed from Youtube said they never identified any novel virus at all. Novel virus meaning no one is immune and so is going to take over the planet. Pallet loads of money spent. Sorry, I did not mean to sound like complaining all the way thru.
  13. I guess it depends on the year and how it does or doesn't apply according to the way it's written. Usually written to get your money is the deal. I think if you have an older truck, before emissions, you can get away with doing what you like but, don't quote me on that.
  14. I see... sounds pretty good if you get it done. I would not want to get caught. They have a way of really hurting you financially. Why not build a great second gen that doesn't have all the junk on it? Build a legal truck everyone would like to have, right?
  15. I am 'dumb bell', AKA a 'ding-a-ling' due to age ...what is a glider type setup? And why are there lots of Powerstrokes dead from emissions? What happens to them?
  16. Nice! On mine I ran steel tubing front to back underneath to help support the cut bed frame and for the access Door I used 1/4 inch diamond plate since the bed is corrugated to 1/4'' thick. It's like night and day difference having access. Made me feel like I was beating the system telling Chrysler to take a flyin' leap when I did mine. We ought to come up with a kit
  17. I connected mine to the filler neck vent 'T'. I simply stepped up the rubber return line hose bigger to adapt the the fill vent nipple. I was worried at first how well or how fast I would be able to fill with a blocked vent but, it's fine if you don't use a commercial nozzle used on the big rigs or you can just fill on the slowest notch. My other truck with a flatbed however has the fill neck coming out the flatbed side rail, so is too level for good flow down into the tank. The return is also connected there and so I have to fill slowly but it's not annoyingly slow. One day the government weights and measures man was there verifying the amount of fuel flow at the diesel pump. He told me the slower you fill the more fuel you actually get. So it's best to fill slowly. I have seen where the private fuel card lock places are turning up the speed / volume of the fuel flow. Maybe it's to help with their profit, I'm not sure. I solve that issue by using my folding pocket utility knife to hold the handle on in the slow position I need for my flatbed slow fill. I makes the pump squeak, you can hear it but, I am not the one who turned up the pumps speed so drastically.
  18. Actually met a lot of nice people down there from Cali. I was happy to be around most all of them I met over the years at that camp. We are looking for a new place to go now though.
  19. I think I caught something from MoparMan at camp my hair is turning purple, have an obsessive desire for WiFi and chili cheese Freetos.
  20. I bought a truck from a dealer that kept telling me how great their mechanic is. After buying the truck the front breaks had trouble. I got in there and found he could not figure how to insert the brake pad shims to the caliper. They were smashed and hit with a hammer to try and get them to stay. I took a moment to figure it out, not difficult and after new pads, one new rotor and new stainless shims they work perfect. Everyday for a month I was going down a steep grade. must be about 15/16% with a house across the street at the end of the stop sign. It's a wonder I did not get go thru that house.
  21. I would call the state insurance board not sure that's the name but, there is a Gov't agency that will like to hear about your story. I would call them and file all the forms to start any legal action. I would be calling the insurance co. to let them know but, don't just talk to any lower company people hired to brush off claimants, talk to there boss and then the bosses boss. Let them know how unrelenting you are about this injustice. The second thing is to call the builders board and find out what contractors liability insurance they have and talk with them about the company employee hit you with the company truck. Don't let crooks off the hook. Another story, My good friend does concrete flatwork and showed a video of the mail man running the stop sign and hitting my bud's tuck. The mail man with terrible integrity denied it until he found out about the video taken from a front porch cam. It happened in front of the work he is doing and his client had one of those doorbell cams that caught the whole thing. Well it turns out the post office is self insured for everything and said that they will not accept any video from any source. This story pisses me off too! What the heck did my dad give his life for? A country of weak spine crooks that cannot stand up for what is right? This stuff pisses me off.
  22. He has to go by way of my place in NW Oregon first to change injectors and one power steering pump on both my 2nd gens.
  23. We will be crossing paths hopefully and I will get to see it and meet up . Maybe it will get some others interested too.
  24. It's cool having tilt forward fenders and hood. It's the best . Are you planning on driving out west to Michael Nelson's place in Idaho when this truck is done? I would drive East to go see it for sure. Mopar Man lets visitors camp on his property.
  25. I also hope you woke up and got zapped with some wisdom that changed your mind.
