  1. Wonder why they didn't show any of the landings or final outcome in those shots. They looked so pro at everything. In our day we had James Bond now the kids are actually living it.
  2. That's very interesting information. Another one for the simplest way being the best.
  3. People that work with their hands seem to have a better grasp on reality for creative design, solving problems and tackling new territory, or uncharted ground. To have the freedom to do what you want and advance in any direction, for the most part, means starting your own business. Success means actually caring about those you do biz with and those around you. Doing work like it is for yourself on your own truck and remaining honest. To research a subject will tell you how far the charts go. Beyond that it's all discovery.I don't think a college degree would count for much unless you owned the biz so you can be well rewarded according to what you contribute. Just a few cents tossed.BTW, Only once in 36 yrs was I asked for my credentials. That was for a bank loan. The rest saw my work and word was I was straight shooten'. The rest is history
  4. Thankx for the pix . Nice to see jobs like that you are doing.I know those panels are all dual glazings. You guys ever do any bullet proof stuff?
  5. They ought to have a little cab heater that goes on when you plug in the engine heater. Be nice to find something small like that.
  6. I'd say plug in the block heater all night. Some guys put a piece of cardboard to partially block off the radiator, but, I can't say how much to block off.Make sure you use synthetic power steering fluid. I used Pennzoil synth since a lot of guys recommended it. Before that I had my power steering pump squeeling in cold temp starts. Use a turkey baster till it comes out clean. You'll notice a difference right a way.
  7. IMHO.... This post needs to be a Sticky:thumb1:
  8. That was just to wake you guys up .... It's just a boat name I saw years ago kinda like, "Cirrhosis of the River" or "Liquid asset". Anyhow, be nice to get a small heater going inside the truck. Not talkin' about a gun you guys....just a heater.
  9. Water is very cold this time of year. Really hope he makes it.......Prayers from Oregon.
  10. Thanks so much. Mine froze inside also. I worry about the electrical and gauges with that going on
  11. Can any of you guys tell me because of the winter cold, trucks been sittin' all week, if you have any condensation on the windshield inside? I think my cab lites still might be leaking, showing up as condensation. This would help me a bunch if you guys could check and see. Thanks a bunch....
  12. Yes you can write off the interest just as if you bought a second home. I'm pretty sure you can write off any maintenance costs too, but, don't quote me on that.
  13. Cool ideas.......Thanks.... My truck still looks fairly new except for the lenses. Maybe acid rain or UV causes the lenses to get dull, cause it starts at the top edge. But it looks like a factory coating that wears off... so I don't really know
  14. They make an adjustable front trac bar to center the front axle. I would say you need one to center the front because not so much the rear is out as the front not centered.
  15. Do you have a 2 inch leveling kit on it? Also is the wheel at 12 O' Clock on a straight hiway? Make sure the front wheels are the same distance out from the fender just above the wheels. In other words, the front axle is centered when the truck is unloaded. The alignment shop could mean out a quarter inch side to side and isn't centered .Just to throw in some ideas.... mine steers perfect btw. ' Knock on wood'
  16. my cord melted at the block heater end. I found the melted area after taking the cord off the element. It just unscrews and pull off. Look at the end there. Auto parts stores usually have the cords. Just bring yours in and match it up. That's what I did and the new cord was only about 10 bucks.
  17. What kind of fuel pressure are you seeing with your Walbro? Are you on a big line kit also? TIA
  18. When mine did this two times I needed a new lift pump. A big line kit will gain you about 2 psi pressure on a stock pump. The big line kit with a bigger draw straw will gain another 1 lb of pressure on the stock pump. The biggest advantage with the big line kit though, is the pressure won't drop even under wot. I know this by experience.Big line kit helps to afford another filter before the lift pump which helps it last longer if there are any dirty fuel purchases. The prefilter on mine dropped it from a steady 15 to a steady 14. Not too bad.
  19. Cool! Thanks to all for other ideas too.
  20. How did you guys deal with the loss of gloss from the weather? Anyone do something creative about this problem?
  21. Since they do sound like block heads I wish I had waited one more year I would of found out about the problems and said no thanks.
  22. Now I might be able to get the new tires, garage door fixed, new tractor water pump that's leaking, Timbo Apps new emergency brake pads, paint the house, finish framing the wood shed, body work done to the first gen get the 02 detailed. All things been let go for a long time.I know the gov't can't do that....
  23. I still carry an extra oem L/P in the tool box. I canned the quick connects so it would fit right on in place of the Raptor. I just don't trust electric stuff anymore
  24. O.K., from truck window then? What time's breakfast anyhow
  25. Happy New Year to everyone.Don't forget, days are gettin' longer so spring is right around the corner.
