  1. In oregon we used to cool off fast at night in the summer. We aren't seeing any of that lately for the past few years. It's like the jet contrails are trapping the heat in overnight. I see so many contrails now literally almost covering the entire sky when the suns' angle is just right. This summer has been wonderful in Oregon as well. I thank God for that because I suffer excessively on hot days now that I'm just a wee older. I tell ya tho I can eat a danish the size of a diner plate very easily. IBMobile gives me a morsel at camp. I think he gobbles them down when everyone is asleep.
  2. Thanks for the nice comments Dave110.
  3. Yeah it is true I think I remember the north pole has moved some 200 miles from its normal position. Man I hope that means we get the northern lites down further south. That would be cool. I wanted to mention about global warming.... the fact that just outside our atmosphere the temperature is -245 degrees F. in space.... Isn't that a major factor in helping keeping us cool. ?
  4. Your lucky yours is dry. my unsplit rounds are sitting in rain today, but we are supposed to have another warm dry spell so not too worried. Redneck rain gauge shows we got an inch of rain in the last 24 hrs. Very cool as most years rains don't come back till another 3-6 weeks. Get your firewood done soon..... I'm thinking we are about due for a good winter this time around.
  5. Now we are talkin' some pretty good roof coating here. I would like to know, in order to make double sure it's the right type of product, what you use to clean it off with. True polyurethane does not come off your hands easily. Once you touch it your sorry you did. Then when dry, the stuff is like a structural glue.... you need an air chisel to get it off. That is if the chisel can get through it. It will often just bounce and the poly laughs at the chisel. Once polyurethane is applied it cures chemically and water will actually accelerate cure times. So if you get overnight condensation it will not hurt your application. I've used polyurethane caulking many times with great results and the coating should be the same, it is merely thinned down for easy application as a coating. Anything claiming to be elastomeric paint is simply a water base acrylic or latex with an additive to increase it's ability to stretch. It lays on the surface and will not chemically bond like polyurethane will. Although with enough preparation and given perhaps a more compatible surface, there are cases where the water base products have shown some degree of success. I would not rely on it for the conditions an Rv is placed under. Wind, rain , heat and hail. A good test for a product if your unsure, is to apply a small spot on the roof, letting it cure and see how easily it peels off. If it peels easily it is most likely something to take back to the store. Once peeled off you can then test its stretching ability by seeing if it tears more readily. Polyurethane is like a strong rubber band and won't tear or break till a long stretch is applied. Far better than any latex, by doing this you will notice the amazing difference.
  6. I'm getting away soon, going to meet IBMobile in mountain valley where the cell phone don't work Got to get away.
  7. Me too..... I'm telling everyone no more work until I get a long rest. One phone call today said, 'whens that? in a week or so''? I said no not till next year. It's awful to live so tired you get no life and you jus start to feel good on Sunday and it starts all over again. I feel sorry for retirees the dang prices are crazy for building or remodeling.
  8. Had to light a fire this morning..... got the wood stove going for the first time since last spring. Now for watching that redneck southern drawl Dr. Vernan Mc Gee. He is really cool.
  9. They look like Dripley when something goes wrong with his truck or sees a beautiful chick walking by.
  10. See how he photos the car in front of a very stately home? That would have sent up a warning signal right there Nick. Hey you know when we sold my daughters Jeep for an honest price and told them everything it needed...... the buyer said he was been looking for months only because sellers were trying to scam by hiding problems and holding to dishonest prices . So be careful out there. At my age you get so you can tell the real from the phoney Baloney. Not always but most of the time.
  11. Republicans/ Democrats means nothing there are all walks of people in everything. Many of my clients who are democrat also voted for Trump this last time around. I also want to say the most prominent Democrat of of them all cannot spell well at times. I try not to make him feel bad..... I just say, hey bud you can't spell it like that way.... here have more coffee and show him how to spell it. I try to be helpful rather than pointing out faults, My company has been working for him for 21 years. He is the most wonderful crabbiest customer I have.... wrote me a 7k tip and takes me and the wife out to diner all the time.
  12. There are those that want to evangelize to our little children introducing a future of confusion, instability and lawlessness (I did not write that to make you mad btw). The Bible actually talks about the future climate change and complete pollution of the world, written centuries before the industrial revolution, centuries before the internal combustion engine and centuries before any concern over population explosion. It also talks about lawlessness, and hate/ contention growing around the world. Keep in mind this all written when there was plenty of land to go around.
  13. Ah yes.... what the Bible talks about, 'the natural way of Man' He ment woman equally as well, teaching us how to live peacefully among each and everyone. He knew his teaching is needed as we are all wired for wrong doing, a propensity for wavering about in unstable selfish desires. We are all like that and no one deserves the right to be hammered by others until you do harm to someone.
  14. I think your personal life should be kept to yourself, that discrimination exists in each and everyone of us... otherwise why did the Bible say not to be judgemental to each and everyone of us. There is a storm of contention and judgement brewing toward others that believe different, a form of bullying, it only leads to discord and unrest. The problem comes down to the table when Gods precepts are no longer being taught in schools. They were written to help us remain mentally stable, to remain a peaceful world, having a peaceful sense of community toward each other. Chickens are different as everyone of them need to be cooked....
  15. Please you guys do not believe any labels, hype or news broadcast advertising. Use only a polyeurathane. You will see twenty years out of it. I'm serious it's very durable like a cummins vs a Yugo. Like night and day the roofers use it on high rise buildings and is compatible with EPDM. Believe me they don't go to the local Henry handy man hardware store to get it. You can go to any Paint store and get good elastomeric paint, It's common and less expensive that relabeled but, it won't be as durable a a Polyurathane base coating. Anything labeled 'RV' on it is suspect
  16. Like Dave110 says, you need to get the Timbo if you are wanting to keep and build a good truck. It's less than half the cost of the OEM and more reliable. Do you still have the intank pump hooked up down in the tank with the AirDog pulling fuel thru it? Even screens in the tank can clog slow down the flow.
  17. We are currently doing a waterproof deck so it doubles as a patio cover underneath. Its a water based product called 'Gaco' that you apply to the new plywood. Taking a total of 4 coats and seam taping all the joints and flashing. I would not want to rely on this simple elastomeric Latex paint for a coating over EPDM on an RV. However, I do think that more expensive Polyurethane products might be worth a trial test run by doing a small spot on your RV to see if it peels after it cures. If you need a chisel to remove it and stays flexible it might be just the thing to add a coating more durable than the original EPDM roof. I think it worth a try as anything latex or water base is never used underwater.
  18. Thank you to both of you for helping. W-T is pretty good guy around here. We don't want to lose his participation and valuable info. It's helped many of us so much.... we can be proud of our trucks, getting them to go beyond the normal level of reliability . That's what this site and Mopar1973Man is all about. I have to admit though sometimes he gets on a big power trip.... horsepower trip that is
  19. Okay boss what then do I ask for at the marijuana store so I don't have to smoke nor get stoned? What's the best way? I don't want my ambition destroyed and become a hippy the summer heat is bad enough, lol.
  20. Yes that is the way I understood it.... that a stronger internal build for greater towing capability and reliability makes sense for reinforcing the transmission housing as well. I am sorry Jon to have infered anything else 'Boss'. I stand corrected..... Until Dripley starts his relentless pecking. LOL
  21. Jon says the Georend trans pan adds strength to the trans case which it needs after his mods are done.
  22. Go with Jon's advice, I know you'll be happy. Are you getting the Georend Pan as well?
  23. Evan, it's a bit better to tap with a 'T' because your a little further away from the VP44's hammer effect Right? I'm asking. Plus you shouldn't have a hard 90 degree at the VP, but a 'long sweep 90' for less cavitation problems. Vulcan has those in half inch.
  24. When you pull the pump set the new and old side by side on the bench and you can turn the shaft to match the position of the key when the VP came out. If your doing it right you turned over the engine till the key was at the top before removal, but it might be at 11:30 or 12:30 so you want to get it as close as you can on the bench before install. See if the keyway comes out and glue it, but look with a magnifying glass for the arrow stamped on the keyway.... it has to be the right way before you glue it in. This is very important.
