Installing Isspro FP gauge in stock 01
How long have been running those pressures?. I'm worried about one of my trucks running 24-25 p.s.i. The gauge is not Isspro it's an unreliable gauge I had a shop install. My other truck has The Isspro and it tests correct.

Carbon footprint
That's a good summation of what nonsense the eco baffoon has presented. To me it is amazing what these people think we will believe just because they said it. They bandy around all sorts of political rhetoric and drives me nuts they can't see fact from fiction. If they could speak a level unbiased presentation, sincere manner would be great.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
What I like is you see first hand the weak points of the 47re and know what to do. Do you have any employees or is all work hands on by you?

Which Torque Convertor To Get
It is my assumption that rebuilding an automatic trans is complex enough to cause making a mistake very easy. The individual must be essentially doing it all the time and knowledgeable about necessary upgrades in a way that the rebuilder knows by experience from always tearing them down, how important they are. Making sure the rebuilder goes to Chick-Fil-A for lunch might be a good start in your investigation

Coffee And Morning Thoughts for the day.......
Living near the big city as I do everything gets picked over pretty quickly. You have to take what you can get. I finally found a very nice all original 2001 Laramie in nice shape. I had to pay 16,500 to get it.I'm glad tho as I needed it for work. It is being good to me so far even tho it had 190k on the clock when bought.

I hope IBMobile calls you too. He needs a new trans. Not just a rebuild. For his 5th wheel he needs it really built, but he's afraid of the shipping. How much from Escondido, Ca.?

advice on rv or 5th wheel
Beautiful buildings. What is some of the stories about them. Were they damaged beyond repair from WWII? Some abandoned from earlier wars? It's so interesting. the work that went into those... look how intricate that window must have been in the first picture showing ruins. Amazing stuff. Are you allowed to metal detect those places for valuables? An American would ask that.... Right? No respect

Mopar1973Man will now has a shop open for business
Just go word of mouth Mike, you don't want to advertise all your time away. I would probably make it a rule that if they need it in a hurry not to do the job because of the runs you have to make 3x's a week.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
Yep, I unfortunately did not do the 'Pan Off Upgrades' (good way to call it) and my 01 misbehaved once yesterday with what I think is called 'shuttle shift'? Is when it is supposed to shift but hesitates for an instant and then grabs a little hard when it does. I think it's hard on it and wish that I had gotten the Heavy duty Borg Warner Governor Pressure solenoides for each truck. What a dummy I am for wanting to get done with everything too fast. About lining up the, pan, gasket and bolt holes..... I'm not as skilled as many, found it difficult without the wife's help by slowly raising in place with the floor jack. So using same three long bolts to help guide everything. I made three 'Bobby Pin' like wire clips to hold the gasket in place first. The wire clips hold the gasket by grabbing the threads of the bolts. Just like a large bobby pin, slide over the threads to hold the gasket. After getting a few pan bolts in by hand you can easily slide the pins out of the way and continue on. This is recommended for older diesel folks like me, but don't forget and leave a pin in there. Might help someone like me who is getting a bit older and Mopar Man go,'' Oh gawd'' to ya.... don't let that discourage you he's the fastest VP44 slinger in the west.

Dog tracking
Yep I like my other truck that is normal not lifted or leveled. It drives really nice and the wife rather go to diner in it more than her newer Subaru even. There was a guy in the tire shop the other day trying to afford some 35's. They were big and honkin at us all while we all stared at them.... he was cussin' cause they were so expensive. Here I was parked next to him and he heard my quote and said, Dam, mine are expensive aren't they. I said yep they are fun and cool and everything but hard on the pocket book and the running gear. He says what!? yep hard on the running gear because your placing extra leverage against the transmission/ everything. Engine load is higher too. I was surprised he didn't want to kick my ash right there, but he was cool about it. Sorry about pushing original topic aside.

Make sure Mike, the lift is in good shape and has not been abused. It looks good. All sheetrocked to help hold heat in.

Dog tracking
When I did my level kit I had to get an adjustable track bar because the axle and wheels were sticking out an inch or so further on the drivers side that the passenger side. After the track bar was properly adjusted it got everything even again. Then had to keep adjusting the steering wheel till I got it back to the 12 o'clock position going straight down the road. I would never do the level kit again because with loads I have to have air bags now. I wasn't worth doing in my humble opinion.

in-tank lift pump
The 02 without the in tank pump all I did was cut out the screens with a razor knife and drill some holes to swiss cheese it. I believe I gradually and carefully ground out the holes rather than drill them because the plastic is pretty fragile and you need the housing intact for the sending unit and draw straw. Having never seen what an intank pump looked like until I bought an 01 with that dealership modification, the basket bottom was different and the screen was attatched to the lift pump it was halfway clogged with dirt and sediment. 190,000 miles when purchased it was dirt and sediment not rust particles. The newer 1/2'' draw straw conversion kit from intank L/P was different in that everything snapped in place. Eric had developed it even further from the original Draw Straw set up. It goes draw straw--- primary frame mount filter--- frame mount lift pump--- factory filter---fuel pressure 'T' and needle valve--- long sweep 90 degree elbow going into the VP44. There are no banjo bolts in the kit. Even using the factory filter the kit allows you to remove them. It's a good kit Some guys have the Air Dog lift pump that comes mounted together with two filters, on a manifold block.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
Dynamic, Your good advice is what all of us really need. I know we all appreciate, more than you know, someone that cares enough to help with the 47 and 48 re Trans. Now I have serviced both my trucks trans. They run much smoother, more consistent, but the sense of accomplishment in knowing its done right is a good feeling. I cannot find one inkling of a leak either.

preparing for plowing
Dripleys feathers are turning extremely vibrant colors early this year. On more sincere note; I do think it is going to be a rough ride this winter. We have been seeing September like weather conditions most of August. Very unusual.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
Yes Jon, but one of my problems is that by choice I have only one Pacific Pride card plastic type money. Lol, so by check is how I pay all construction bills and others. So I can send a check early, wait till it clears, when you know it's okay then order the parts me?? I think just a big hasell for you, really. I will not do it unless worthwhile to you Jon..... or Purchase order thru Mopar1973 Man and he can make his cut and run them checks/ ride bicycle to the drive up teller.... LOL. I need a Heavy duty upgraded Governor Pressure solenoid, One upgraded pressure Transducer. Also need a pan gasket and anything else you know is beneficial for an 02 long hauler with an RV.

47re Trans Service Tips and Tricks
I hear what you saying..... my mileage is the same. Thank you for this. I just had a very similar experience with a fire sprinkler system company. Kept promising me they would get there in about two weeks. waited 3 weeks to find out they weren't coming. Called the county twice to verify if they applied for the required permit as they said they had, but no application was filed. It hurts because insulators and drywallers all trying to keep their schedules open as I need them, Now have to wait even longer to get them all. Its rotten when people can do this sort of thing too you, me and others. Cascade won't be getting my business. Dynamic, Thank you.

Make sure your prepared by anything you can do..... I'm seeing indications that it's going to be one of our hardest winters in the U.S. Maybe the worse ever

Elec connectors getting them apart without breaking
That's a good modification to do. W-T was amazed the factory could have done those grounds so wrong in the first place.

in-tank lift pump
MY 02 had the side and bottom screens w/o the in tank pump. My 01 had only bottom screen for the in tank lift pump. Basically the bottom of my baskets are gone. One was full of garbage the 02 was not with just 29 k on the clock. Goes to show why you need to protect the lift pump with a pre filter.
