Anyone use any oil drain valves in place of the drain plug
I drive over sticks and grassland.... different things so I don't want the worry of a quick easy drain down there. I ordered new drain plugs from Genos for both my 2nd gens and like the bigger socket I can use. Your right about staying away from the oil change goof balls. I've been changing my own oil ever since I was 16 and still don't mind doing it.

Runs when cold - Major issues as warms
Even if you can just get a sample off the tank bottom that would tell you a lot. Many of these trucks that haven't had their fuel system upgraded have clogged screens down in the bottom of the fuel module. If you also have old fuel with a bit of algae/ water in the bottom it will run poor. Try to get the tank dropped, but if going into the job that far you should have the big line kit ready with a prefilter to install. That way you can cut out the screens and add the filter. Vulcan performance parts can set you up with a kit that has the fuel pressure gauge fittings too.

I could be wrong, of course, but I think its contaminated fuel. You could do damage by trying to emulsify water with the fuel trying to get it to run thru the system. All diesels need a water separating big filter before the lift pump so it can't mix into smaller droplets and have the smaller factory filter failing to filter them all. Do you have good fuel pressure?

Can't sleep bad ideas in my head
With all it's batteries..... enough to make it to JellyStone park pulling the camp trailer, you'll have a net payload of 20 pounds.

2019 clean air act
Yes. It is hard to fathom what is really going on in this country. If they didn't have a way to charge interest on the printed paper wouldn't we have runaway inflation and an extremely devalued Dollar? I just grew 29 ears....

Can't sleep bad ideas in my head
Much better to have to bullet proof a single Dodge than to try and marry two that can't/ may not get along with each other and then have to bullet proof them together. I know when young nothin stops you. I was that way where if something was tough, I got even more motivated. However, there is a time when enough of what you want will be too much and I think this is one of those times. Keep it simple.

2019 clean air act
Its high time the government had a recession until they pay their bills off....It high time they get laid off and have to live on all they saved, like we did so many times during recessions and get back under a budget the people can afford. If they stopped borrowing right now they would go bankrupt.

Consensus on "leveling" a truck
I think I read that the level kit is supposed to go in the front, not between bed and cab

Remembering our Lost Heroes Today....
I would have liked to hear those stories too. When I'm not tired I will tell of a client of mine that was in the battle of Ewa Jima. What happened to his platoon made him so mad that he took revenge in ways you never heard of. Good nite for now.

Installing batteries ...any cautions
Me not pecker head.... me detector head. I find the target and you peck'em out. Get rich quick. Hey it's like turning on the ignition key Right?! You get that sudden momentary lift pump nudge when you first turn on the key.

advice on rv or 5th wheel
So your getting a fifth wheel then? I like those a lot. Dripley has one, IBMobile has one. wil440, what did they do in the old days before mortar and cement to hold all those stones together? Some of those castles are huge too

Installing batteries ...any cautions
Dripley blew off all his feathers doing electrical himself. There was even a local paper that caught the storey. Anyone have that link?

Hey will440, where do you stash the metal detector, you know, dirt fishing gear ? Or you don't have one yet !

I'm still learning what to think about all this.... you know you read a lot of things, but the Mopar Forum helps enormously in formulating solid thinking . Thank you for your patience with this.

I don't know anything about it as it is just something that I read. I also ask how anyone could possibly find out that this is true without always towing heavy under lock up and then tear down the trans due to premature wear. I would still only be a clue. The post went on to say that its wise to use lock up only on slowing not accelerating.

Vp44 rear bracket bolt broke in block
- Vp44 rear bracket bolt broke in block
I read about someone running without the bracket on A VP44 truck. He had problems, don't remember what they were, but had to find a bracket and get it installed. That would be best anyway.- Quad door window latch broke
Auto glass shops use something to glue the rear view mirrors on. I think they clean with acetone first being careful to not get too much outside the mate surface.- A little bit of what I do for work...
Look like chicken peck marks..... I have to say Dripley they are very consistent and even. I have to ask.....How do you drill out steel at that wide of a bore?- 47re
I read a discussion on TDR that using the lock switch without increasing line pressure wears it out faster if you are towing heavy..... that without increased pressure your still getting slippage with a side effect of greater than normal wear, since its actually designed to slip. Oh well....what can I say except bolts go back in easier when the parts line up. - Vp44 rear bracket bolt broke in block
