Replacement Battery Recommendation
Nice, very nice truck Dieselfuture! I likes that alot. Anyone that attract bears like that could easily be part of our camp group with IBMobile and them guys. I think it's a requirement in order to join up. You'd fit right in......

Replacement Battery Recommendation
X2 how do you do the equalize Mike? special setting? I think I've seen Diselfuture's tiny little boat with them big heavy batteries. He's only got two inches of freeboard when sittin' in the water. Someone may have a picture of it.

Thanks for sharing Mike. I hope everything slows down just the right amount for you during this winter. You know your taking chances out there without getting enough rest, so think about your time too Boss.

Replacement Battery Recommendation
To help make wet cells last longer..... I know to equalize is good thing, but one charger I have says it will pump a higher voltage into the battery for the correct duration. Another charger says it sends 'pulses into the battery' to equalize the cells. What is the correct equalize procedure? Or is it just simply, every once in awhile place the batteries on a charger to fully charge them up to final stages? T.I.A.

After report on VP install
I've hung on to my core when the core charge was a lot less. So I may make some money on it someday . I like having one around that's not all beat up from being rebuilt 50 times I think someday it will be handy that I hung onto it having 2 VP trucks.

After report on VP install
So if your not carrying an extra VP on long distance runs it costs you an extra two night hotel bill in addition to the down time off the job or whatever.

2002 Dodge Ram 3500 dead pedal
Yep these trucks need a fully clean electrical system. All bright, tight clean grounds and battery posts, but that is not all...... they need low AC voltage ripple levels. Otherwise it is a slow death to the PCU on the injection pump. Also the alternator grounds thru the mounting bracket, so the bracket and bolts need to be cleaned of rust and corrosion. Some of us have run a dedicated ground for the alternator housing ground. Go to the articles section and read the articles pertaining to the electrical on the second gens. It will open your eyes on how to further bullet proof these trucks.

When you make the call to find out if theres
If that was your driveway at least you got stuck in the right place. BTW save me a camp spot cause after IBMobile sees that, he and his friends will be up there and won't leave any room. When I try pulling in they all say nope that spot's for target practice

When you make the call to find out if theres
So were you stuck there in that photograph? How did you get out to get it fixed? did you pull it with the horse like the Ford commercial?

No power until 2K RPMS
Sounds like it will be a great truck when running. How about fuel related.......have you checked for clogged screens in the bottom of the tank module? Run it with the fuel cap loose and see if the tank vent is clogged, it may be overcoming the tank vacuum at the higher rpms. I only experienced this on two trucks before when mine was visibly clogged and another fellow camper had fuel suction problems. Never seen it since those 2 times. Ah never mind........ I see it's holding good fuel pressure.

No power until 2K RPMS
Best chance is Dripley and those guys are more right about what is wrong, but I have to say the few things that come to mind in this situation. Are you still on the old factory APPS or have you already changed over to the Timbo APPS? How many miles on the injectors? Is your turbo in good shape? No excessive play in the bearings causing rubbing or drag to the spin fins? Do you have a clogged Cat in the exhaust?

NO WTS, No Lift Pump, All Crank No Start Please Help
Yes, so many things in the way I always felt I would mess something up doing it from the top. You don't want to stress wiring harness and other things above.

Factory alarm question
Good idea I saw a few times how bad Seattle was getting and decided to avoid that area ever since. That was about 10 yrs ago so it must be awful these days.

NO WTS, No Lift Pump, All Crank No Start Please Help
I've done about 3 or 4 starter change outs and always did everything from below. When your my age the feeling in my hands is better than my eyes. Anyhow, I'm very glad you got it fixed. Not giving up will often reward you. That is how you become successful in this world of uphill climbs.

NO WTS, No Lift Pump, All Crank No Start Please Help
Mike, he does say that he changed out the ECM from a working fine truck and still has the same symptoms. Could the ground just above the starter, if bad, cause these ailments? You are the luckiest guy on the planet to live so close to Mopar1973Man. He is in New Meadows. Sounds like you need a new injection pump, but Mike knows how to check for that in his own shop just down the road from you (you is luckey) He will also show up at your place to look it over.

Coach me on which laptop to buy..... My new HP is garbage
Okay, sounds good..... What is a 'Chromebook' it's a smaller laptop looking thing for only around 250 bucks. Is that a laptop computer or is it something else? It has a keyboard.

Coach me on which laptop to buy..... My new HP is garbage
A year ago I bought a new HP Envy laptop. On sale for 800 bucks. What a Piece of ****.The hinge is bound up and popping out the screen when opening. It creeks and cracks in sound like ready to break something. Went on the net and found this a common problem and HP is a turd about customer service.... an absolute human waist of a time to get them to do right by you. You guys, can you help me choose something cheap like a chrome book or something? I just use it for forums and searches nothing heavy. I'm pissed cause Best Buy sales knew about this common problem yet let me be convinced I'm buying the best. It was a lie. I'm not spending much as I have been experiencing a lot of garbage with 2 brand new appliances, new installed furnace and other things delivered on a new home I'm finishing up. My opinion is things aren't built any longer..... so better to hang onto old stuff fix it if you have to make your own parts and keep your money in your bank as I've seen a lot of fake shiney covered up junk lately. Sorry about the rant its just the last few days really have got to me. Thank you much for listening.....

New Winch
Hey you guys, guess What?..... Dripley started up a slew of all female retirement homes and calls each one ' The Chic Chalet'.

Stolen Catalytic Converter
Why would they go to the trouble to steal that? Probably due to the platinum inside and the good cordless sawzalls now a days, Is that right? I don't know about everyone else..... I see more and more things like this in the world around us..... thus we'll see this more often in the future. I'm glad the straight pipe will be good for the truck anyhow.

Headlights - 2nd Best
I hear that even tho I'm old. Sometimes I have to slow down since I cannot see when they are approaching, esp. on these small country roads I frequently run. I get the idea that why so many pedestrians are hit in the dark. They should be outlawed, but send the fines to IBMobiles fishing fund. That would accomplish a great deal.

Trouble with my Ram
Almost everyone here that are regular visitors to this site have learned to change out their VP44. It is the easiest of all the pumps to change. That's a BIG plus for keeping these second gens, not to mention many other benefits you cannot find on newer rigs.
