  1. Update**** It's been a while since I've said anything about how this had all progressed. Still fighting with workers comp, I have lawyers involved. I went to my own doctor and long story short, I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow (wednesday) and hopefully begin to heal and put this behind me. Once back to work the lawyer will look at any money I paid out of pocket plus time off and so forth so we can get them in court and try to resolve the Financials of this whole fiasco. In order to go to my doctor's ihave had to get back to work. I was off a total of 5 weeks initially, missed a few days for appointments and such and now looking at another 4 to 12 weeks recovery post surgery. Ugh! What a nightmare! I'm sure I left some details out but you kinda get the picture. Been a bit of a rough summer so far.
  2. Great article! Doesn't seem as tough as I thought it would be.
  3. Wow, a little toasty there. It's presently 80°F here and 50% humidity.
  4. @Mopar1973Man, that shouldn't be to difficult. Could be time consuming though. I've had that in the past on gas engines. Owner saw a leak and immediately grabbed tools to crank the bolts tight. They couldn't figure out how the leak got worse after they tightened them.
  5. I've never had the pleasure of doing that and wasn't trying to sound critical in anyway. I just know you well enough to know that you wouldn't want to leave it like that. Lol It was very informative though. I watched start to finish this morning while having coffee.
  6. @Mopar1973Man, I took the time to watch through all the videos above. I don't know if you've done final editing but in video #2 about 10 minutes in when your beginning to work on the fuel return adapter in the filler hose you cut away and when it comes back the video backs up a ways. Not trying to critique at all, great informative videos and well detailed. Great job! Wasn't sure if you were aware of the slight glitch.
  7. I've seen aluminum wheels fir sale, off of newer Dodge rams. They fetch pretty good prices around here. I figured paint is much cheaper.
  8. I don't blame you @LorenS, aluminum wheels would just get trashed in the winter anyway. Steel can be sand blasted and renewed pretty easily. I used the same paint kn the wheels as the truck tool box and bed rail protectors, mathes the nerf bars to. Kinda ties it all together.
  9. If I decide to keep the look I'll go back and maybe powerwash the wheels and repaint. This was a quick experiment for the most part. It's growing on me though.
  10. So today I was a little bored and wanted to check my rear tire pressure. With the chrome covers on this is impossible on the dual rear wheels. The covers are 4 hole and the wheels 7 hole so they don't line up and there is just no way to get in there with a gauge so...... I removed the chrome covers, painted the wheels black satin and reused the chrome centers. See pic below. What ya think? Rears before Rears after
  11. I believe @IBMobile is correct. In regards to emissions the vehicle has to meet emission laws for the year the vehicle was manufactured. In my case, i have a 2001 3500 Cummins NV4500. No factory emissions so really hard to go wrong unless I were to roll coal really bad and draw attention.
  12. You probably need a booster or 3.
  13. @wil440, I'm not going to start a debate about the vaccines, i dont judge anyone if they have taken 1, 2 or 5. Thats your choice and I fully respect that. I myself, being a bit of a conspiracy theorist, I just don't trust what they're doing. I seen and heard from various sources what the shots can and have done to people. I'm glad to hear that you are doing OK with it and I wish you a speedy recovery. I have not taken any shots for covid and so far I have been well. I do however live in a rural area, my contact with others is limited to work for the most part and then it's brief. My take on it is this: if you want it fine, it's your choice and yours alone. I don't agree with mandates at all. I don't want to be an experiment and that is basically what this is. It's a new "vaccine" so it has barely been tested if at all. We are the test. Hope I don't ruffle any feathers, not trying to. Just my opinion. Get well soon my freind.
  14. Looks like Geno's is having a summer sale on replacement dash pads for 2n gen Dodge trucks. Check out their site.
  15. Mine is factory 3:55 gearing and stock 235/85-16 tires. Haven't checked milage lately but last time I did I was at 17.5 mpg just going to work and back. 21 miles each way with mixed driving conditions. I figure that's as good as it'll get until I get a quad adrenaline.
  16. The W-T ground mod will save money in the long run. Easy to do as well. Just follow the articles.
  17. As far as converting your bumper pull trailer to a fifth wheel: Can it be done? I'm sure it probably could be. Will it be cost effective? I kinda think it may not be. Might be easier and safer to just sell one and buy the type of trailer you want. Or find an old fifth wheel camper and put the box from the trailer you have now onto that frame?
  18. I agree with the above. One question to @Mopar1973Man, is replacing the crossover tubes a must do with the 220k miles? Just curious?
  19. In the last couple videos that new gopro takes great video! Sound is very good also. Great investment!
  20. What are his steering issues? Wondering? Death wobble? Just preventative maintenance? Steering is very important with these 2nd gens, they seem to have a mind of their own for some, for others it's death wobble, maybe touch on some of the different common problems while you go through the steering?
  21. I have thought about a pacbrake in the future. Presently, I tow an 11k fifth wheel occasionally. Maybe 3-5 trips a year. Usually within 125 miles from home, I live in north west Ohio so its mostly flat here. Can't quite justify the expense yet. If I were to start towing the camper further and hills and mountains come into play then it would definitely be on the table.
  22. What's the cost of an exhaust brake compared to 17" wheel and upgrading to 3rd gen ? Curious.
