  1. Any damage to the radiator? Looks to be ok in the pic. Still the shipping companies need to handle things alot more carefully!
  2. So far today with the knee sleeve on for support it's doing well. Still a bit sore if I put all my weight on it but I think in a week I'll be back to good. I need to start exorsizing or something. I'm sure it would help. Could stand to lose a few lbs as well.
  3. I know this should be a no-brainer, replace the bearing and race or just get a new hub. Not that easy. The trailer in question was built by myself starting with an old camper. I tore off the shell, reenforced the frame and installed a wooden deck. Its a 2 axle (axles are old dexter 3500lb axles with the Dexstar wheels) front axle has elec brakes. rear axle is just a plain hub. One of the rear hubs had a rough bearing. Once removed i find that the larger inner bearing is bad, the bearing race is pitted as well. UGH! I need this trailer to haul our motorcycles on an upcoming trip to Florida, about 2500 miles round trip. I contacted etrailer and have had no luck as of yet. Kind of hitting a wall here, we leave in 15 days. Anyone have an old camper sitting out back? LOL any thoughts? This is the hub. I believe they were a 4-9.44 hub meaning 4 bolt, 9.44 bolt circle. old school stuff. lol
  4. So at work on Tuesday in Illinois loading up 9 Kia's to deliver in Grand Rapids Michigan on Wednesday and as I am lifting my right leg to climb on to the trailer my left knee pops! Afterwards I could barely put any weight on it. I had to have a co-worker help me finish loading. Once loaded went to the hotel in Portage Indiana and soaked in a warm tub of water, got some sleep. Knee was slightly better in the morning but not good. Delivered the load Wednesday and drove back to Toledo Ohio. Went to see the doctor. Doc says I strained something in my knee. Put me off work for 1 week. Or I can go in but on light duty only. No driving, loading or climbing of trucks, lol Not overly concerned that this is going to drag out, I think I'll be fine after a week of down time. It's just annoying that doing something I've done hundreds of times now all of a sudden causes an issue and shuts me down for a week. Not to mention I am 15 days away from leaving for Florida on vacation. Life just frustrates me sometimes! Just when you think your on a roll you hit a snag. Just thought I'd share my most recent snag with everyone. Thanks for listening.
  5. Sound like fun! Have a safe trip and enjoy yourself.
  6. @Tractorman, I did kind of know that. Very good explanation though! I have driven the truck probably 50 miles since the adjustment. So far it self centers after a turn pretty well. Straight line feel is good to. I think I'm going to leave it right where it is. Steering feels a lot better.
  7. I found some play in the steering box over the weekend, adjusted that out and steering is much better. Was that the cause for the death wobble? Doubt it. But it certainly could have contributed to getting it started.
  8. I've never used the balance beads in a car or truck tire. I have however used them in the motorcycle, they seemed to work fine.
  9. Exactly...... Can't afford that right now.

Video adds a much needed visual for some (like myself). My first time changing 5.9 Cummins injectors and with this article and videos as well as an article by mopar1973man, all went smooth. Took my time and finished the job in about 3 hours. Truck is running great, no leaks. Thanks !!
  11. Great article! To begin bleeding the fuel system I cycled the lift pump by quickly cranking the motor to have the LP run for 20 seconds. Did this 5-6 times and was able to bleed cylinders 1,3 and 4. She fired on those three until all the other cylinders bled themselves while running. Truck is running great now!
  12. Before you installed the bosses it looks pretty weak even to the untrained eye. The way you did it makes much more sense. Guess the company don't care how long they last. Good job security for you though I suppose.
  13. I read a little bit about this. Haven't been able to get back to it yet. It's disgusting how they have torn this country apart. It's been going on for decades bit the last 18 months they've kicked it into overdrive! What scares me is how brainwashed some people are that actually defend the government actions. Sickening The world is changing and not for the better. We are literally racing towards an orwellian dystopian future. The government will control every aspect of our lives if they fully carry through with all of this. Unfortunately I don't know if it can even be reversed at this point. At least without a huge uprising. It may well be to far gone already. The United States of America as we know it is gone. It saddens me to near tears just thinking about it. I think about the world my grandchildren will grow up in. All because, to be honest, as a free people we failed. Not all of us fell for their BS but many did and now are so brainwashed into thinking that this is all nessasary for society to.move forward. Unbelievable! Those of us that saw through the lies were labeled conspiracy theorist or just plain crazy. I got responses like that from member of my own family and some friends as well. Now all of a sudden they remember what I've said over the years and take pause. Hmm...... I'll stop the rant for a bit to take my blood pressure pill now....lol

Another great article on changing 5.9 injectors! Video's are very helpful too!
  15. Great article! Very detailed and helpful.
  16. Front shocks were replaced last week, KYB Monomax. I'll adjust the steering box sunday, Tires have not been balanced since I bought the truck.
  17. Never had it in an alignment shop. Truck tracks straight down the road, front tires are wearing evenly, they were new when bought, about 30k on them pressures correct. Truck has 166k on it. I belive the steering box is original. Death wobble first happened over a year ago. It's only happened 3 times total. Just don't want it to be a regular thing.
  18. I ha e done some reading as well @Tractorman, just a little info. The truck has the stock wheels and stock size tires. (235/85/16 l believe). Track bar was replaced last fall, left outer tie rod 2 months ago, and new front shocks a week ago. Then today i find the play in the steering box. Could it be the end all cure? I dont know but i belive it could be a contributing trigger for it.
  19. So, I've stated before in another thread that I have experienced occasional death wobble. It's very annoying. If I hit a bump just right everything goes haywire Anyway, I got under the front end today while my son was turning g the steering wheel, there is some play within the steering gear box itself. Could this cause the wobbles? I know how to adjust the box, I'll get to that tomorrow. Just wondering if this could be the cause of my problems. I have replaced so far, both front shocks, left outer tie rod end. The rest of the tie rods seem to be tight, ball joints good to.
  20. Good idea @IBMobile, I will check that tomorrow. I did take her for a ride into town, about 6 miles each way. Seems to run great, even though the truck is not loaded she pulled nice and hard. Smokes a little when you lay into it but not terrible. Shout out to @pepsi71ocean and @Mopar1973Man for the articles and videos. They helped a ton! Pretty sure the injectors I pulled out were original to the truck. The tips were pretty filthy, carbonized and showed signs of heat discoloration. That all may be normal for 166k on injectors. I will have to get my scan tool back from my son to check idle rpm and engine load at idle now.
  21. Injectors are in. Went for a short test drive and wow, what a difference! I decided not to paint anything today, to cold to paint. Install was about 3 hours give or take. Just took my time and seemed to go well.
  22. I was thinking more like red or red, lol
  23. Quick question, is there a coating of some kind on the valve cover? I am thinking of painting it while it's off. Is there a "fast" way to paint it? Thanks
  24. Oh, yeah! I did watch it, all 3 parts. Very good! I'll re watch those as well. I've done only 1 set diesel injectors on a ford tractor but that's all the diesel mechanical experience I have so far.
