  1. Great article! Very detailed and helpful.
  2. Front shocks were replaced last week, KYB Monomax. I'll adjust the steering box sunday, Tires have not been balanced since I bought the truck.
  3. Never had it in an alignment shop. Truck tracks straight down the road, front tires are wearing evenly, they were new when bought, about 30k on them pressures correct. Truck has 166k on it. I belive the steering box is original. Death wobble first happened over a year ago. It's only happened 3 times total. Just don't want it to be a regular thing.
  4. I ha e done some reading as well @Tractorman, just a little info. The truck has the stock wheels and stock size tires. (235/85/16 l believe). Track bar was replaced last fall, left outer tie rod 2 months ago, and new front shocks a week ago. Then today i find the play in the steering box. Could it be the end all cure? I dont know but i belive it could be a contributing trigger for it.
  5. So, I've stated before in another thread that I have experienced occasional death wobble. It's very annoying. If I hit a bump just right everything goes haywire Anyway, I got under the front end today while my son was turning g the steering wheel, there is some play within the steering gear box itself. Could this cause the wobbles? I know how to adjust the box, I'll get to that tomorrow. Just wondering if this could be the cause of my problems. I have replaced so far, both front shocks, left outer tie rod end. The rest of the tie rods seem to be tight, ball joints good to.
  6. Good idea @IBMobile, I will check that tomorrow. I did take her for a ride into town, about 6 miles each way. Seems to run great, even though the truck is not loaded she pulled nice and hard. Smokes a little when you lay into it but not terrible. Shout out to @pepsi71ocean and @Mopar1973Man for the articles and videos. They helped a ton! Pretty sure the injectors I pulled out were original to the truck. The tips were pretty filthy, carbonized and showed signs of heat discoloration. That all may be normal for 166k on injectors. I will have to get my scan tool back from my son to check idle rpm and engine load at idle now.
  7. Injectors are in. Went for a short test drive and wow, what a difference! I decided not to paint anything today, to cold to paint. Install was about 3 hours give or take. Just took my time and seemed to go well.
  8. I was thinking more like red or red, lol
  9. Quick question, is there a coating of some kind on the valve cover? I am thinking of painting it while it's off. Is there a "fast" way to paint it? Thanks
  10. Oh, yeah! I did watch it, all 3 parts. Very good! I'll re watch those as well. I've done only 1 set diesel injectors on a ford tractor but that's all the diesel mechanical experience I have so far.
  11. I was thinking something very close to that. Probably not isspro gauges though. They're great but a bit spendy. For now just need something to monitor things. I want to start on the injectors tomorrow morning. Any last minute pointers? Any new info I should know? I have read mopar1973man's article on changing them once already. Probably reread it again in the morning over coffee.
  12. That's what I was planning before I started thinking more about a quad. I may just stay on track and start getting gauges once the injectors are in. Baby steps...... The injectors showed up today already! Had to go buy an in/lbs torque wrench and crowsfoot wrenches to do the job tomorrow.
  13. Didn't know that @Mopar1973Man, I thought you had to have a display of some sort up. Hmm, what to do what to do.....lol
  14. If I had a decent place to mount it a small tablet would be great. Like maybe a 7" screen. It'd be easy to see and read at a glance. How does the adrenaline hook up to the phone? Via Bluetooth or USB cord?
  15. @Threadzy, I'm already considering an adrenaline. I want to do gauges to but in weighing options I would get gauges on the adrenaline as well as all the tuning features. Not to mention it would really help take advantage of the new injectors. I have to admit, I am intimidated by how complicated they seem to be. I have never had one but I do read some of the posts about them and it all seems to be over my head. It would be nice to be able to change tunes when going from daily driving to towing or if I just want the extra power for some reason (or no reason for that matter) and maybe an mpg tune with today's fuel prices.
  16. @Mopar1973Man, ohio is only a couple inches away from you on the map.
  17. I finally pulled the trigger. My injectors are stock original as far as I know with 165k on them. Been noticing the idle creeping up a bit more lately, 0% engine load at idle and doesn't feel as crisp as it used to. So, called @dieselautopowerand talked to Jacob, explained what I have, how I use the truck and future plans. After a great conversation placed an order for a set of 7x0.009 VCO injectors. Looking forward to installing them to see the difference.
  18. @Max Tune, if your GPS ever goes cray and you end up on ohio......
  19. The added weight of the rv may result in some tweaks just to keep the power where you want it. Did you get any sort of mpg reading while towing the big text? Kinda curious to see how this works out. I may have to spring for an adrenaline after all.....
  20. Well, front wheel is coming off again. Moved the bike last weekend to find the front tire flat. When I changed tires I had to reuse the old tube since I gouged the new one trying to install it. Must have done the same to this one. I'll pull it off soon and this time it's just going to a shop. I'll have them install a new tube. I don't want to find a flat while we're in Florida next month. Before I try tires again I think I'd like to have a much better mount/dismount system. Tire spoons just don't work well for me. Looked at a tire machine of sorts. It's all manual but it does hold the wheel much better and has protection on the parts that could scratch crome or gouge tubes.
  21. Oh ok, misunderstood your post. Hopefully it don't leak for ya. I don't get why it would push coolant out in the winter though. I'm not real familiar with the Milwaukee 8 motor, they use regular antifreeze?
  22. If it pushed the coolant out will you be able to get that fixed in order to ride this season?
  23. I moved mine out of the garage, front tire was flat. I believe I pinched the tube while putting the tire on. Dam gonna take it off and run it to a shop this time. I don't have the time to do it again.
  24. Welcome! Nice truck! Looks like you've done a couple mods. Lol
  25. Sounds like it's gonna be a great trip.
