  1. What is the size of the pick up tube in the tank? I'm probably going to have to drain the tank to install a draw straw since it was just filled up. Ugh I assume you want to install them with the tank empty since the bottom if the tank will rise slightly due to the decease in fuel weight correct?
  2. Let's talk gallons per hour, the Fass DDRP I believe is rated at 100gph, there are 2 Raptor pumps, one is rated at 100gph and then 150gph. Which would be the best rout? The Raptor 150 I know has an adjustment for pressure, I believe the 100 does as well. Raptors also claim a lifetime warranty on their website. Are the Raptor pumps superior to the fass? I like the fact that there is a pressure adjustment externally. Which pump will be better suited for my truck. I plan on some light mods later but not much. Is 150gph to much for a stock truck? @JAG1, when I replace the pump I will be doing the relay mod to use battery power for the pump.
  3. I checked for voltage at the plug for the lift pump. Had 12v there so the lift pump has failed suddenly. (Somewhat, really need to get gauges!)
  4. Good point @JAG1, just sucks things like this only seem to happen when it's cold out. Lol The pump that's in it must have just given up suddenly. I checked pressure at idle about 2 weeks ago. It idled at 17psi. Now it's not even turning on. Gonna check for power at the plug in a bit. Waiting for my son to come over to BP the starter while I'm under the truck. 25 seconds isnt enough to get my butt under there to check. Lol
  5. I would say it would be a food one for errands and such but Beast probably gets better milage.
  6. That is what I'd like to do is the 1/2" line kit but, as for now its cold here. My truck don't fit in my garage so I think I'll just replace the pump and leave the lines. When it warms up I'd like to do a draw straw with 1/2" lines. Will a Raptor 150 be ok on a stock truck? Is there a such a thing as to much fuel to the VP? I'm looking at the Raptor 150 at DAP as it also comes with the 1/2" line from filter to VP. It says it mount on the factory bracket on the motor. (Fine for now, change it later to frame mount) Also, in regards to the possibility of the in tank screens being full of goo, should I maybe blow a little compressed air through the line into the tank to clear it?
  7. @Tractorman, the actual milage now is about 163,500. I belive the injection pump may have been replaced at some point just by looking at it. Hard to explain but it looks "newer" than it should if that makes sense.
  8. @IBMobile I knew that but it still irritates me. Lol
  9. Raptor has a factory replacement? I'll have to look. I was intending on doing the LP relay mod. Just seems to make sense to me. Don't know why the factory didn't do that in the first place.
  10. Hey, it's a beater with a heater right? Can't beat the price!
  11. Again, the only thing I add is the 2 cycle oil. I have learned this here on the forum and have stuck to it. I retrieved my truck today. Noticed when I turned the key forward I did NOT hear the lift pump come on. I started it long enough to creep it up on the trailer then shut it down. I'll check for power at the pump to be sure it isn't an ecm issue but if there is 12v there I'll be ordering a new LP from dap. I'd like to get an air dog but just not in the budget at this point so it will be a Fass DDRP which it what just failed. It's been on there since I got the truck (30k miles/2 years ago) but don't know for sure how long it's been in service. Once the LP is replaced I'll give her a try and see what happens. I'm sure the injection pump has sustained some wear or damage but if it will keep her on the road for a while til I can save for the IP that would be great. If not then I guess I'll pop for the pump. No way around it.
  12. That's awesome! Hopefully he learned a lesson that day. I'm so tired of these younger generations being such sissies They cry at a minor dig on them. God forbid you insult them in any way or call them by the wrong pronoun. Holy crap! Most of these young "men" don't know what it means to be a man, a father or a good employee. Crazy
  13. I agree completely. It's not all of the younger ones but a vast majority. They don't want to take the time to deal with anyone face to face or take the time to know their job or products they are selling. No pride in their work either.
  14. Won't find detail like this anywhere else. Thanks for taking the time Mike!
  15. I agree. I still have yet to hear any more from anyone on this issue.
  16. The only thing I've added was 2 cycle oil since I've had it. When I got the truck it had 138k on the clock. No telling what was or wasn't done before I got it.
  17. So on my way to work this morning I noticed my pedal was for the most part dead. No acceleration and the engine was "missing" for lack of a better term. Made it to work, truck idled smooth like any other day but if revved a few times it would begin to miss again. Had the OBD scanner in the truck so plugged in and saw the P0216 code. That was the only code present. I know this is the VP death code but before I drop big $$$ on a pump, is there anything else I need to look at? I want to properly diagnose this and not just throw money at it. Can't afford that rout right now. Thanks in advance......
  18. Thanks @IBMobile, I may have some stainless screen in the garage. I'm sure that would work just as well. I also want to use some of that same screen for a bug sreen behind the grill come summer time.
  19. So I sent the first radiator back to the vendor, received my full refund. Then ordered from DAP. Unfortunately the one I received from them was damaged during shipping I assume. The box had NO staples on one side, they had been removed and tape applied to close the box. Then after removing the radiator from the box I found that the top of the core was bent! I contacted DAP and they in turn contacted their supplier. This is what I was told via text message: They are submitting a claim with the shipping company and they will probably be swinging by to pick it up. If they do they will send out a replacement to you as well. Thanks I'm not sure how to take that. I don't like the word "IF" in the action being taken. I shall see what happens. Let me be clear, I do not blame DAP for this, it was clearly mishandled by the shipping company. I just hope I receive a good replacement some what quickly. I have been trying to get a replacement now for a while with issue after issue it seems. Just for kicks, see the pics below.
  20. I pulled my wiper arms off just to repaint them. They looked horrible. I took my time, wasn't a difficult task just be patient. Now I'll be removing them again to install screens. @IBMobile, what type of screen did you use? I like that idea! Also, what glue? Thanks!
  21. I agree. Still planning on making a filter for under the plastic cowl in front of the windshield.
  22. Only 12° difference. I think it should be a bigger margin than that. I belive maybe in the 30° range for good heat exchange from core to air.
  23. I did that not long ago when I changed the t-stat. A year or so ago I removed the hvac box, clean it, replaced the heater core and a/c coil in there and inspected the foam seals. Didn't change alot other than no more coolant on the passenger floor. Lol
  24. I have a similar issue as well. I'll be watching this one to see the outcome. I just haven't dug into mine much yet since I need to replace my radiator. I'll do a system flush then. Already have a new 190° t-stat and new heater core.
  25. @Sycostang67, I assume all is well now? Did they tell you what caused the issue? Glad to hear she's back on the road.
