Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
It's OK. I'm still going to move forward with my plan for now. Next time around I may go a different route? Time will tell but for now I just want my truck back on the road. Lol

I recently placed my order for my lift pump. After all this conversation I'm kind of second guessing what pump I should have purchased.

@Max Tune, there was something else causing it back then.

I want to ask a side question, @Mopar1973Man man states his filters are 3um. I'm familiar with the "micron" rating. Is um an abbreviated term for micron or something different?

Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
I don't think it's a bad injection pump. It does seem a little over complicated to me but I'm no expert. From what I've read I think it could be a better pump if better materials were used in preparation for the ultra low sulfer diesel fuels of today. They were put into service when diesel had more lubrication. That's why we use the 2 cycle oil is to add that factor back into the fuel to compensate.

Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
This conversation has really turned out to be informative and interesting. I have already ordered my Raptor lift pump and will install it but as this discussion progresses I will be watching. I'd like to see more testing done on this and possibly a special write up showing all results mainly because this goes against everything I've ever read on the lift pump pressure requirements and so on. I'm am in no way saying it's wrong on either side. This is all new information and I appreciate @Tractormanfor bringing it to light. This could change alot of things in the cummins dodge realm.

Exactly, maybe when it's running reach in and wiggle some wires around. If she shuts down you'll at least have an area to look at.

Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
- Dirt to snow or snow to dirt.
That's really cool!!!!- Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
I believe I saw pics of how you notched one when installed. I was going to go that rout myself. I don't really do any hard laughing, normal driving and occasionally towing a fifth wheel camper or utility trailers. Sounds like a central location away from the basket would be best for my situation.- Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
Once I install the 1/2" line there will be a draw straw to pull from in the tank away from the sending unit basket. When installing the draw straw, is there an optimum place to put it?- Reve X Distance plus
Yeah, I can believe that. We had some red diesel left over here from summer farm work. I put some anti gel in it just in case we needed to use the diesel tractor over winter for something.- Dirt to snow or snow to dirt.

I will have a similar set up. Frame mounted pump with pre pump screen filter, keeping the oem filter for the heat benefit in the winter months. I just won't have the airdog system you have. At least not for now. Maybe next time. I don't remember what the filtration number was on the replacement filter in the oem housing. It was a wix, that's all I remember.- Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
That's not good. You still have a ways to go up where your at.- Dirt to snow or snow to dirt.
It does look like fun! I think I prefer a 4 wheeler though. We don't get enough snow here anymore to justify a "snow machine". A quad I could use in nearly any situation. Cool sled/bike!- Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
Time to go out and cut/split a bit more wood to prepare. Should have had this all done but got busy and it got pushed back.- Reve X Distance plus
Wow, that's alot of time invested but it did yield good information. Worth it.......- Reve X Distance plus
I typically use the same 2 fuel stops. So far no issues. I add the 2 cycle oil to help lube the vp. Other than that, I don't know a thing about where the fuel comes from. There is a refinery right in toledo so I assume it all comes from there. Don't know for sure the cetane numbers. The clerks at the stations would just have a blank look if asked. Lol- Another hard start/loss of prime
I had to replace my drain valve last year, it was dripping fuel slowly. I to ordered from rock auto, got the right part. Easy enough fix.- Another hard start/loss of prime
Here ya go @Mopar1973Man, no more shoulder walking under a truck. Just glide under and back out again, even side to side if needed.- Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
We're expecting some measurable snow fall here Wednesday through Friday but they aren't saying just how much yet. Might be a good time to be sick and stay home from work.- Squirrels Got Me Good
Soooo, what time will the ribs be ready? Sounds like your close. Maybe 1 wire somewhere just didnt get a good contact on the new plug setup? i have no idea what "sci recieve" would be. Sorry - Dirt to snow or snow to dirt.
