  1. I disconnected my grids over the summer as well. No point in wearing them out when not needed. Probably gonna need them today though. Temp is 16° with wind chill of -7°. I need to have grid heaters in my coat!
  2. Crazy world we live in isn't it? Have to cover your arse everywhere these days. And with electronic fraud and hacking it's difficult to do especially if someone is coming after you for I'll reasons.
  3. And that's behind the T-case on the inside of the frame rails correct? Looks like an easy install and easy to get to for filter changes.
  4. Novice question here: Does coolant pass through the filter housing in some way or does the housing absorb heat through metal to metal contact? Might be a dumb question but I have never removed the housing from the side of the block so I don't know. Thanks.
  5. I would have to look for a battery equalizer/charger then correct? I'm interested because I have lots of batteries. 2 in the truck, 2 in the camper, 1 in the grain truck, 2 riding mowers and 6 tractors and a combine. That's alot of batteries to replace, they aren't cheap.
  6. I appreciate it mike, not many people think.like that anymore. I actually had a similar thought when you said you were shoveling off a roof. I'm not afraid of heights but I know I don't heal like I used to either.
  7. This is a process that still eludes me. I understand it to a point but not fully. I have looked a "special" battery chargers that claim to rejuvenate batteries but not sure if that is what's needed to do the job. I have tested both of my batteries before winter set in and they tested good. I then charged them separately to a full charge. Is this near what you describe? Forgive the ignorance on this.
  8. Oh yeah, I'm not going to over do it. His driveway is only 2 car lengths long and about 15' wide. His snow blower is self propelled so it should be easy and only take about 10-15 minutes. He is one of those guys that lives in a sub division, not a real big yard but has a 42" riding mower, snowblower for his little driveway and so on. I chuckle about is sometimes.
  9. While reading this my coffee is next to me. Got a call from dad last night. So I'll be heading to his place today to check out his snow blower. He says it won't start. Thinking he just wants me to clear the snow but either way he needs help so I'll be there. Was considering clearing our drive today but now temps are supposed to go above freezing tomorrow and calling for rain so maybe mother nature will take care of it for me. We have some cold weather coming next week. Temps in the single digits so I'll be doing what I have to in order to.prepare like getting my cord out to plug in the Cummins. I have plenty of wood in the basement for the furnace so I should be good there. I'll probably fire up my generator and let it run for a few to charge the battery just in case.
  10. I've heard cannabis helps for alot of things. My wife smokes a little to help with a digestive issue she has. It helps her alot. My parents have had several surgeries and been through a bad car accident in the past, they have tried edibles and say that they help. They just don't say much about it like they don't want anyone to know. They're older so they still think of it as bad. My drawback is I have a CDL so am subject to random drug tests, can't have any of that I'm my system. So I rely on ibuprofen and such.
  11. I had that issue last night when trying to go to sleep. Lower back, hips and legs were just aching for some reason. Didn't do much yesterday because of the weather. Helped the wife with a few things in the house. That was it for the most part. I don't like this getting old crap at all.
  12. @Mopar1973Man, your not planning on sending this next storm this way again are you. It's still snowing from that last one. As far as vitamins, I just had blood work done 2 maybe 3 times. I forget. The first was a wellness check for my regular doctor. They said everything came back good on that one. My most recent was checking for signs of gout since my left foot has decided to swell and I have shooting pains through it now. The knee (right leg) is doing well since the surgery. Been having a little pain the past 12 hours for some reason. Might have over done something cutting firewood on Saturday not sure.
  13. I don't blame ya. Luckily the fire didn't reach you.
  14. @JAG1 that's not a good situation at all. In our area forest fires aren't really a threat. I couldn't imagine dealing with that. Very scary.
  15. Yeah, I don't mind it. Only bad side is it doesn't freeze enough to kill off some of the insect population.
  16. The past few winters have been pretty mild really. This is only the second measurable snowfall of the year.
  17. Mike, the winter weather you sent my way arrived late last night. Not as bad as they predicted though.
  18. Beautiful scenery! Is that close to you home?
  19. Maybe put in a splitter so you rust proof both sides of the frame?
  20. Hopefully the ECM Dr. Can figure out what's wrong and fix it or if an outside issue at least point you in the right direction.
  21. I was just kind of curious why different companies have such a variance in price. Thought some of it could be due to different processes involved. When it's time I will most likely use DAP since I see many here have used them and been satisfied with their purchase. Also I believe they're a vendor and/or sponsor here as well and price point to add to the list. If I were going full on performance high horse power twin turbo coal rolling tire shredding diesel dominator then maybe there would be a reason for dropping big $$ on injectors but mine is a daily driver, wood hauling, camper pulling and farm truck. I don't need or want all that stuff.
  22. Is there a manufacturer name and part # on the original? If so, track one down.
  23. It sneaks up on you. Especially in the winter months. And now with all the options on television your butt seems to grow roots in the couch. Lol
  24. In my down time lately I've been reading alot about injectors for the VP44 24 valve. Trying to learn and read reviews check prices and the like. I have looked through DAP and some others. Some look kind of "shady" or maybe that isn't the term but for whatever reason I didn't trust what they were saying. One on the other hand one seems to make some sense, Dynamite Diesel. All I know about this company is what I saw and read on their site and reviews of their products. I was just wondering if anyone has used their injectors? I did notice however that their prices are nearly double compared to DAP so I'm also curious as to whether or not it's worth it. .I'm not trying to start anything here between companies by any means nor bash either company. Just wondering how or why the price of the injectors can vary so much. I'll be in the market for injectors come this summer so thought I'd start doing some homework and came across this issue so thought I'd put it up here and ask others opinions. I'll most likely purchase from DAP when the time comes but my curiosity got me on this.
