  1. I'll be returning to work Monday night. Been off since November 22nd. It's been a while. I'm both looking forward to it but at the same time I'm not. It doesn't help that we are expecting snow that day and into Tuesday. I drive a car hauler semi, we have to load and unload those vehicles ourselves. I'll need to clear the decks of snow on the truck, clear windshields of snow and so on just to load them. Been doing this for almost 2 years now, I don't mind the job. Actually like it in nice weather. The winter is when I sort of dread it. But on the bright side, not much more winter weather to go for this year. Hopefully in another month we will be on the upswing of temps and things will be easier. This is the truck I drive... 7 brand new Jeep Gladiators on this load.
  2. I have run into what @Tractorman described as power steering stall while backing in a camper a time or two. Most notable time was while backing in a 5th wheel for my son. It was a bit of a tight spot so a few pull up corrections were needed to get it where he wanted it since it was going to be a permanent site for them. While releasing the clutch and trying to cut the wheel I would seem to loose the power assist. Outside of a situation like that I don't normally have any issues with it.
  3. Yeah, doesn't sound like it was flashed correctly to trigger the high idle.
  4. It's been pretty mild here as well up until the past couple weeks. It hasn't been above 32° in two weeks. What snow has fallen is still on the ground. This all started because I was bored. Lol My son brought this blower over here with intentions of selling it. He had it posted for a while with no interest, I was outside one day and got to looking at it and thought I could make it work on my tractor. Turned into a project to keep me busy for a bit. End result if it works out well will be I will sell my wheel horse tractor. It's a good little tractor with a 32" snowblower and a 36" mower deck. Which would be fine for a smaller yard. We have about 3 acres we mow. The wife has her rider also. So I'm thinking I can thin things out a bit. One more machine I won't have to maintain. Been trying to get rid of things the past year to clean things up and minimize some what. It take alot if time and money to maintain so much machinery.
  5. Got the mounting brackets welded up today. My weld aren't pretty but they'll hold. Have to figure out the pulley placement next time I'm out there. Scavenged a couple of idler pulleys from some old wheel horse parts I have. No pics today but I'll get some tomorrow.
  6. Right, you only throw full beers to people you like. Lol
  7. They're saying we may get another 1-3 inches on Saturday. Got about an inch yesterday to. Be glad when spring gets here
  8. So I was in the garage today, bored. Had a 44" John Deere snow blower sitting around for a while. (Long story) and decided to see if I could adapt it somehow to my Kubota B5100 lawn tractor. Tractor has a vertical PTO pulley and clutch up front and the blower has a horizontal belt drive so didn't see why this couldn't happen. I began to fab up a mount on the tractor to connect the quick connect hitch for the blower. So far so good. Have to fab a couple mounts for the idler pulleys to transition from horizontal to vertical to drive the blower. Then work out the lift system using the 3 point in the rear for now. Once I have the brackets and such mocked up and welded I'll clean them up some. The pics below are just rough mock ups right now. I think it'll work though. Just thought I'd share. And yes,.I know. The garage is a crazy mess.
  9. I figured it would smoke some without a tuner. The extra boost with the elbow should help some with that I believe.
  10. Honestly, at first there most likely won't be a tuner. They're expensive and I don't have that in my budget yet. Would I like one? Yes. But I will have to go in steps. With a hair over 150k on the injectors and the readings from the scanner they need replaced. Don't want to replace with stock just to change them again later. So I was thinking get +50 or +75's and possibly a boost elbow to push some extra air to help with the smoke til I can afford a tuner. When it's time for a tuner, I've been thinking about a quad zxt mainly for price point. I know everyone seems to favor the quadzilla but I'll be honest, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with the technical level of that one. I've read some of the post concerning the quadzilla and some of the jargon is a foreign language to me.
  11. Thank you both for the info. My plan is to have a system similar to yours @Mopar1973Man with the exception of the air dog (for now at least). I'll use the fass ddrp that's on the truck now and relocate it. With that set up I won't flow as much volume as with an AD but it will still improve with the increased line size (3/8" compared to stock). Also will be keeping the stock filter for the WIF light and heat aspect. From my reading/learning so far I think that will work for the injectors I'm planning on in the future ( either +50 or +75hp, haven't completely decided yet).
  12. And for those of use that don't know, what is asphaltine? I'm assuming like a tar substance of some sort? Just getting that from the name.
  13. I'm coming up on the 15k mark on the under hood filter so I'll just change them both at that point. I have here lately been using some farm fuel so there may be some debris in it from that. It that air dog filter a metal screen type? It looks like it in the pic.
  14. Based on this, how often should the small inline pre pump filter be changed? Once I get the fuel lines updated I will feel better about the amount of filtration and fuel volume for the vp44 but for now I'm still using the stock setup with a fass ddrp.
  15. Then I will seriously consider this route. Once I get back to work and get funds flowing again. I have the filter head just need the reducer fittings and the relocation kit. Probably go with 3/8" lines as said before. I'd like to do this upgrade and gauges all at once if possible.
  16. I can't say I've ever seen any from mopar either. I'm sure they probably had them back when the second gens were fairly new yet. Haven't laid eyes on one though.
  17. Do they come with one from the factory?
  18. Oh, I didn't buy it new. It was used when I got it. Born in 1970.
  19. I'll have to make some more for my grill. Have to make a good template first. Did the cardboard when it was already cold out so it was not the best but it worked. Also, do you run the 200° T-stat year round? Is it advisable to do so? Sure the climate here in the summer may be different from you location. Summer temps sometime tip 100 so not sure if that would be to much or not.
  20. @Mopar1973Man, isn't that the second time now that the shifter got stuck some how? What material did you used for your grill inserts? I made some of cardboard last winter but would.like to do something that will last much longer.
  21. Same here. I believe we are close in age @Mopar1973Man. Gas here may have been in that ball park. I don't remember. Lol I know at 16 years old I had a 1978 mustang with the 4 cylinder overhead cam and it seemed like a few dollars in gas went a long way back then.
  22. Hopefully you'll find some good dry wood to burn. I use only wood to heat our home as well and know how important it is to have good dry stuff especially when we get a cold snap like now. Temp outside at the moment is 8°, keeping it a nice cozy 68-70 inside. We mostly find ash around here, all dead fall stuff but I got lucky and found a dead standing oak of some sort that is nice and dry (23% average) that is burning great. I'll admit though, I have a tough time identifying tree species. I know ash and a couple others but if it's dry it burns.
  23. I haven't used mine alot but your saying it will keep the cab warm and ice off the windows overnight? I've never heard that. Maybe I should us it more. Lol I hope Mopar1973man gets some firewood. I've been there before, it sucks. I was out in -10° weather cutting and splitting anything I could find dry enough to burn. Not a good situation.
  24. I suppose your right there. I have to venture out again today for a little while. I'll probably plug her in again an hour or two before I plan on leaving. This morning is 6° out. A bit chilly.
