  1. Yes it seems they are. In my case, running factory size tires, no major mods at all, I believe someone was in the computer and didn't know what they were doing.
  2. Mine had similar sediment as well. There was no pre pump filter. After doing some reading and investigation under the truck I found the fuel system was hacked together. I honestly don't know how it pulled fuel. The lines were if different sizes and just clamped tight together. I added a screen filer to catch bigger stuff pre pump. Fixed the lines so they seal and don't suck in air. Pressure was slightly better by 1-2psi so I feel in was needed. That's also when I decided a future big line upgrade should be done to promote better, more consistent fuel delivery.
  3. ***Final Update*** I had my buddy hook up to it again with his snap-on scanner. He found that the rear axle setting was on 9.5", the options were 9.5 and Dana. He set that to Dana since the truck has a Dana 80 rear and Dana 60 front axles. Tire size was checked again to be sure it stayed set on my tire size. By changing the axle setting it had changed the size again so he reset that to the proper size. All is good so far. I haven't driven it much, about 10 miles since this but as of now, no abs light and the speedo is now spot on compared to my Garmin gps. Glad that annoying light is off. Just wanted to post final results so it may help someone else in the future.
  4. So, his batteries are shot, starter? Hopefully it's an easy fix for ya so you can get your own truck up and running again.
  5. The meter I used auto ranges. I have another meter I will try. I also want to check voltage to the grid heaters to verify the relays are working properly. I don't like to wait for problems to pop up in cold weather. Rather test and repair before there is an issue.
  6. Yes it was running. I don't have a high end meter but I've used this one before when I did the WT ground mod and had a decent reading then. Thought maybe I forgot something this time. I'll have to try again I guess. I figured I should see setting, not all zeros.
  7. Finally was able to check for ac noise today. DVM black lead to passenger side batt. Neg. And red DVM lead on charge post of alt. I got .000
  8. Looks like there might be a poppet spring under the solenoid. Actually, looking at it again if you do not remove the oil relief plate the spring shouldn't come out.
  9. This may be extreme but could you loosen the body mounts on that side and jack it up? How much more room is needed to remove it?
  10. I will have to upgrade in steps as money permits. That being said, with a fass ddrp and 1/2" lines through the oem filter will this be a stable system? I don't know where my fuel pressure sits right now other than some testing in the drive way with a gauge. I will add gauges next year along with the fuel system upgrade. It's been a crazy year with this covid stuff so my income this year has been all over the place. Just going to work with what I have through winter and hope next year is better.
  11. Thanks @LorenS, that's a nice clean set up. What size lines did you use?
  12. The only requirements I'm aware of are that the relief valve on the vp44 is set at or about 14 psi to vent any pressure above that setting which then returns to the tank to carry heat generated by the vp44 away from the pump itself and also warm the fuel in the tank I would imagine. Anything dipping below 14psi and your barely supplying enough fuel to satisfy the vp44 let alone cool it down. That is my understanding of it at least. If I am wrong someone correct me. Now based on that if one were to upgrade to a big line set up, say from oem to 1/2" but running at the same pressure the volume would increase significantly but hopefully not so much so that your actually over supplying the vp44 which would put it at a constant relief valve open situation and in turn basically pressurizing the return lines I would think. Again, if I'm wrong, please correct me.
  13. Does the addition of 2cycle oil add enough lubricity to make up the difference stated above? Also, you run a double filter. Mine is a more factory setup with a fass ddrp. Technicality it should be moved to the frame to act more as a pusher pump rather than a suction pump. Will it function correctly if I move it to the frame and place some sort of filter between the tank and the lift pump and the still use the factory filter on the engine? I guess my concern would be a filter adding to much of a restriction between the tank and pump. Seems it would kind of cancel out the benefits of moving it to the frame. Is this thinking on track or way off?
  14. Ok, thank you. I'll try to check it later. We have a storm coming in now, 50mph winds gusting to 70mph and a line of strong storms
  15. Interesting....... I now want to check my ac noise again. Refresh memory please, the DVM gets hooked to the charge lead from alt to engine ground correct? It's been minute since I did this, I searched but couldn't locate it.
  16. If someone really want to be a garage building monster I will donate the land in which to build it on. I have plenty or room in my yard for one. I need to be the garage cleaning monster you mention. Mine is a disaster right now. To much stuff in there. I need to move the riding mowers to the pole barn for the winter so I have some room to work on things. Haven't been able to get much done the past 4 days, been home from work with a torn meniscus, trying to nurse that back to health to return to work. I have an uncle now in the hospital with covid so now I am concerned about him as well. And today my youngest son (30 yrs old) is getting married. Been laid up but still have things going on everywhere. Geesh
  17. Once the engine is running I thought I read somewhere that the grids alternate back and forth between the two? I could be wrong or what I read was incorrect.
  18. I forgot to report back but so far, after 1 night sitting at work she seemed to fire up just fine. Grid heaters are hooked up again and the new breaker has not tripped once yet. So far so good.
  19. I certainly hope you get things figured out @JAG1, getting old isn't for sissies. It's a painful process. All the fun and dumb things we did when we were young come back to haunt us.
  20. Just a bit of my personal experience, for sore muscles I use tiger balm. That stuff is amazing.
  21. I bet they are mike. I have the same issues minus the lift (wish I had one). I seem to be the family machanic, whenever something's breaks I'm the first call. Went to the hospital, diagnosis so far is a torn meniscus in my right knee. Ugh
  22. Prayer sent. I feel your pain. I to have lately been dealing with a wicked pain in my right knee. I also visit a chiropractor regularly to keep the sciatica in check the best I can. Pain like that really puts a person down. I'll be heading to the hospital myself here shortly to have my knee checked out. Getting to where I can't work. Get well JAG1, prayers.
