Turbo choice.
Gauges? If you do a boost elbow you'll probably want to be able to keep an eye on the boost pressure. Good idea to have them anyway. I still need to get some gauges on mine as well before I do any mods.

Anyone paint or dress up their Cummins? Let's see some pics!
Copper and black go well together, that's one of the main reasons I bought my bike. Love the color scheme.

That kind of clears something up for me. I was wondering if one should primer before engine paint. Wasn't sure if the primer is heat resistant or if it would blister due to the heat.

Usually I'm the only one under the hood but I would.like to have things clean maybe even painted up a bit. Also it makes it easier sometimes to spot oil leaks and such.

I've been thinking about cleaning up and painting under the hood. I've googled some pics of Cummins engines painted up and looking sharp. Just wondering if anyone on here has done it. So, if you've detailed and cleaned up your Cummins or painted it up to make her pretty post a pic. I'd like to see them just for some ideas.

Heater core replacement coming soon. Anything else?
Not looking forward to the job but I am looking forward to having good heat this winter. I'll do some more work on the a/c later. Have to replace the orfice tube, drier and check some o-rings. It has a very slow leak.

Heater core replacement coming soon. Anything else?
So a while back I discovered my heater core was leaking and probably plugged since the heat output last winter was not the best. I ordered and received the new heater core and evap core from rock Auto, figured I'd replace both since I would have the box out already. I plan on replacing both, cleaning everything up and checking all the foam gaskets and whatnot while in there as well. Thought about the "heater treater" part but I was not having the issue that it repairs. Wanted to replace the dash cover as well but it's not in the budget at the moment so it will have to wait. Is there anything else I will need to consider while I have it all apart? I've read @Mopar1973Man's write up on removal of the HVAC box without completely removing the dash from the cab. I will be following that instruction for the repair. Thanks in advance for any input.

Wow

Fell on its face...
Sounds like you lucked out. May be just the quad the way it's acting. Better than ecm and the vp. At least it was able to make it home, that's always a plus.

Best batteries for our trucks
@Mopar1973Man, is there a write up by chance on equalize charging and desulfurizatio( may have the term wrong) of batteries? Mine were in the truck when I bought it (date stickers shows 11/14) , recently topped off the cells. No dry plates showing but water level just covered them. Recharged for an hour each at 6a then hooked them back up. Both are 1000cca and tested good afterwards.

I live near a small town and the republican party now rented an emty store to represent our county in ohio. I thought it was cool that they reach out to the more rural areas.

I want to finish the WT Wiring mod but...
That's why I am blaming the breaker quality. The factory 140 fuse never blew.

I want to finish the WT Wiring mod but...
Is there a way to measure the amperage with out having a DC loop amp meter?

I want to finish the WT Wiring mod but...
I did this mod a while back. I think I got a bad breaker. It kept tripping for unknown reasons. The grid heaters were even disconnected. I did buy a cheaper one. I think $10 from Amazon, probably chinese junk. Is there a better one out there to look for? Any trouble with the one in the link above @IBMobile ?

Side window rain guards
Do the in channel type cause any binding? Make the window seem tight at all?

Alternator Question
What @Mopar1973Man man said. You will get "cleaner" voltage and it will protect the batteries and pcm all at the same time if you do the entire mod as laid out in the write up. Just search "W-T ground mod" you should find it.
