  1. I know winter is a little ways off yet but didn't want to do this last minute. I decided to try and patch up my driver's side floor board today. It's temporary, should last a year or two until I get some other things done. Then I'll tackle the floors, rockers if needed and so on. I also learned today that a flux core welder from harbor freight is NOT the best tool for the job. I have the home made patch panel in there good enough until I can get to a buddy's house who has a mig. These are the after pics.
  2. I've never used spotify, used pandora a little. Mainly on my phone when I cut grass with a bluetooth headset. Swapped it out for prime music since I became a member. I saw one when I was looking around that had a retractable touch screen. Made it as big as a double din but fit in a single din slot. Screen came out and flipped up. Kinda neat. As far as the camp site, I was just messin with ya. Maybe someday. Be kinda weird a stranger from the internet showing up in the driveway wouldn't it? I wouldn't impose like that at least until I knew you a bit better. Lol

  4. @Mopar1973Man, I mentioned this in another thread but you may have missed it. I know your a big advocate for the quad adrenaline but what are you thoughts on the quadzilla XZT+ module? Mainly if used in a mild truck, mostly stock with maybe +75/+100 injectors? Description says the tunes available do change timing and fuel maps. Just wondering what your opinion might be or anyone else that has used one here. I ask only because I think the adrenaline would be a bit over my head as far as setting it up, downloading tunes and so forth. The XZT+ seems to be more plug and play.
  5. @Mopar1973Man, how long is your camper? Weight of camper ready to go? Just curious, we've been considering a 5th wheel maybe a couple years down the road. We'll see though.

  9. If your concerned about the auto trans issue you could look for a manual trans truck...... With a Cummins....... And 4x4......... Dual rear wheels.......... I might be biased
  10. @Mopar1973Man, I did look at the led lights you have. Are the prices each or a pair? Just curious. I'm thinking of swapping the tail/brake bulbs for led as well. The one I used for reverse were free bees. No disrespect.
  11. My reverse lights were not working, once in a while one would come on but it was intermittent. I replaced bulbs and still same. Finally I put 2 and 2 together and looked under the rear of the truck (once I again took notice of the hole in the side of the inner bed wall that looked like a trailer plug) and saw that some dumb dumb had spliced into the wires going to the tail lights on both sides to power this plug in the bed that is no longer there. I removed the splices and the wires had corroded so no power was getting through. Surprised the tails and signals worked at all. Now that the splices are done correctly and shrink wrapped all is good. Since I live in a rural area it is very dark, very little ambient light so I installed some led 3157 bulbs in the reverse light sockets and I can now see behind me for a good 40 feet. Very happy with the outcome of all this and it didn't cost a dime. I had all the electrical stuff I needed to fix the bad splices and the bulbs were donated by a friend.
  12. Glad to hear you had e had a good experience buying your trucks new shoes. It's amazing how many people do not know how to drive a manual trans vehicle. It like a built in theft deterrent these days. Lol
  13. You have come to the right place for advise. I've been a member a short time. Not long ago bought my first dodge Cummins, an '01 with only 139k at the time of purchase. Only mods done was a aftermarket FASS replacement lift pump. Been extremely happy with it and will keep it a very long time. Stay away from the "53" blocks. They had a manufacturing defect that pops up from time to time. Other than that, find one that the owner cared about and didn't go crazy with power adders and you'll be good.

  15. I had some Firestone destination M/T 2's that were great. They were on a half ton truck though. You'll have to see if they make it in the proper load range for you.

  17. I know you recommend the quad adrenaline @Mopar1973Man but what are your thoughts on the quad power box? I was reading a bit on those and for a mild daily driver it doesn't sound bad. Half the price as well. The quad XZT+ is the one I was reading about.
  18. I recently charged my a/c. It was working but not well, I believe there may have been a slight leak somewhere. I added some freon and for it working better but my high side pressure it to high and the low side is low. I am pretty sure the orfice tube is partially plugged. I'll be changing it when I open the system to do the heater core and HVAC box R&R.
  19. I haven't used them but I had a half ton not long ago with 33x12.50x15 Firestone destination M/T 2's on it. For an off road tire they were great in mud, snow and whatever else you get into. I don't know what they have in the way of a heavy duty tire but might be worth a look. Also, a good friend of mine has a dodge 2500 crew/long bed Cummins and he runs procomp's. Not sure which model but they're pretty aggressive as well. He loves them. Just thought I'd throw in my $.02

  24. Wish I would have took some pics! We had a guy come take of our 20 acres of wheat and run it into hopper wagons for us. Long story short, my uncle hooked his Duramax to the wagons to pull them out of the field. Not enough traction so the nice guy that I am hooked to his truck with a couple big tow straps I have and pulled him and both wagons out to the road. Total weight of the pull was roughly 35-40k. Not bad for an inline six! He was a bit in shock but it was all about traction, I had it and he didn't.
