  1. that all looks confusing as he77 to me. I'm not a tech guy, I think I'll stay away from quads or any other tuner. Hats off to those of you that understand it all! Hope you get your issues figured out, good luck. Lots of help to be found here.
  2. There are a lot of things in the media here lately that pi$$ me off. The virus scares, the newly imposed rules related to the virus. It all seems like a scare tactic to me to gain control of the people through fear. Then we have the racial tensions adding fuel to the fires. I believe that racism is being used to keep the people divided which plays into the agenda. If the people can't come together as a single voice against the governing body then nothing will be done to stop the agenda from moving forward. Now I have heard more rumors of a cashless society. That to me is a very bad idea. With all of the working class wealth in a cyber state there would be no physical, tangible money to be used if there were a "computer glitch" and we would have no means of purchasing goods. The world is changing at an alarming rate, I don't like change much anyway but the changes going on now I feel are all bad and are all working towards a much more regulated society. Perhaps the "New World Order" is coming to fruition? I don't know. I avoid watching "news" as much as I can. I see what's going on but until recently I have been called a conspiracy theorist. With the changes now happening in full view I don't catch as much criticism anymore. Funny how that works.
  3. Made it to the camp ground. Truck pulls like a freight train, no issues on the trip up. Just thought I'd post a couple pics. Gonna have to get a lower shank for my hitch, camper sits a little high in front. Need to drop it down about 2.5 inches to level it out
  4. If I had the extra cash I would buy it. Loving mine, wouldn't mind having 2 of them. Sorry to hear about your dad passing, good luck with the sale.
  5. True, I never had an issue with it either. No issues until I did the w-t ground mod and added the 150 breaker. Just my luck, I try to improve on something and it don't work out. Grrrr
  6. Ok, just gonna ask this, would the fact that both batteries are 6 years old? They both have date stickers showing 2014. Maybe they draw down more than they should while starting and then the alternator is working hard to recover? By watching the volt meter it seems to recover quickly. Is there an accurate way to check the amps? I have a clamp on meter but AC power only. (I tried) Once I get a few minutes I will test the batteries. I recently bought a battery load tester. Good time to try it out. This is the breaker I used.
  7. It seemed to me that it might be tripping early, the alternator is supposed to be 130amp I believe, it should never trip that breaker unless there is a short.
  8. We aren't going far, just over the Michigan line. Only about a 45 minute drive.we are thinking Tennessee next year. Things got cut very short this year due to covid.
  9. Not to long ago I did the w-t ground mod with the 150amp breaker on the charge lead from the alternator to the battery (pass side) and it tripped a couple times shortly after install. On the advise here I disconnected the relays for the grid heaters and no more trouble until yesterday. Grid heaters still disconnected, I fired up the truck to run to town, made it about a mile when I noticed the "check gauges" light and my voltage was down to around 10 volts according to the dash gauge. Popped the hood and found the breaker tripped, not sure why. Did not have the lights on, a/c was off. Shouldn't have been any major power draw at the time.
  10. Today was the first time I've hooked to our RV with the 3500. I need to do a slight adjustment to the hitch but over all she looks good. Camper is a tad high in the front but I will be loading some of my own firewood in the bed and we have not packed up the camper yet either so I think it'll level out. I don't have the WD bars on in the pic since I only moved her from the side of the garage to the driveway so we could begin preparing for our trip next weekend.
  11. Welcome to the forum. Lots of experience here to help you out with whatever you need. Great people and great atmosphere. Not like alot of other forums where people bash one another. Definitely worth the membership. Enjoy!
  12. We are a union company so we do get paid pretty well, can't complain. The worst part of the job for me is weather. On a nice summer day it's great. In the dead if winter for me it sucks. I don't mind the driving in the winter, it's the loading/unloading of the vehicles on the slippery decks that makes it tricky.
  13. I just kind skimmed through this thread but thought I'd post a pic if what I drive. I miss my Pete 379 long wheel base but this is my life now.
  14. My wife gives me crap but whenever we go anywhere together we take the dodge. I'm 6'3" and 260lbs. I don't like getting down into her car (2009 Toyota Camry). It's a nice car for sure, loaded xle but that fact that it sits just a few inches off the ground sucks. I'm much more comfortable in my truck. Simple as that. Plus I love the sound of the Cummins and the turbo
  15. Yeah she leans something terrible. Unfortunately I don't think there's any saving it. It needed a roof 40 years ago, there is severe water damage on a few of the major beams. A couple are about 12" square and they have rotted all the way through. I will hate to see it go as well. It's been a fixture here for as long as I can remember. The farm house and buildings have been in the family for 100 years. Trying to keep things going and fix everything I can in hopes to pass it down someday to one of the grandkids. Thanks for the props on the truck, I love it now that I've had it for a while. Still have some maintenance to catch up on due to not knowing the PO or history. Needs a heater core before winter. I'd like to do the a/c coil and dash at that time also.
  16. Actually had time yesterday so I put them on.
  17. Thanks @Mopar1973Man, learned something new today. I was under the impression that they worked on centrifugal forces alone. Do you get plenty of heat from the 180° in the winter?
  18. Ok @Mopar1973Man, explain this to me because I may have been wrong in my previous post. Are the fans on these trucks not like on a gasser where as the clutch engages to spin the fan at low rpm and releases it at higher rpm when there should be air flowing as road speed increases? I know on the "big rigs" they are controlled by a temp sensor and an air activated clutch but these are not, I have not noticed any electrical going to the hub either (but then wasn't looking for it). Not questioning your comments, just wanting to learn, I may have misspoke earlier. Thanks.
  19. Just my $.02 but while idling the clutch fan is engaged and pulling as much air as possible. Have you seen the size of that thing. The fan is huge and moves a chit ton of air at idle and with very little fuel being burnt at that time there isn't a lot of heat being created either. Now if you had just pulled over after a long hard pull uphill and let her idle she would cool down for you. The reason behind the fan design on a diesel. Again, just my thoughts after pondering it a minute.
  20. From the pic it looks to.me that the 12 valve t-stat would flow more coolant.
  21. Mine fluctuates the same way. I haven't done any cooling system work yet. Want to do a flush and pull the radiator to remove the oil residue thanks to the breather.
  22. Mine showed up today! Won't have time to put them on til the weekend.
  23. I ordered mine today, same ones @Mopar1973Man bought. Should be here Wednesday. We have a camping trip coming up in July so out of curiosity I backed up to the camper to plug in and check lights, looked in the mirror and couldn't see past the front corners. Time for the moose mirrors! Ordered the power/heated mirrors. On another note, my driver side stock mirror heater does not work. Is there a way I could check for power while I have the mirror off for the moose swap?
