  1. I don't want to specify the name or place this dealership is in public. No need for publicly bashing businesses. I can PM you about it if you want.
  2. I know the majority of it is in China of course. All Wagner products come in from China, Anco actually comes from Mexico now. Moog and Precision are made both here and China so its a toss up of what you get in the box now.
  3. If you guys have any local auto parts stores that can get a hold of Keystone Automotive parts, thats where to get them. Whenever a customer needs replacement body parts (mirrors, lights, bumper parts, etc.) I order from Keystone. They make a very good quality part and its a great fit every time.
  4. Just so everyone is aware, Moog is part of the Federal Mogul Corporation. That Corporation also includes names like Anco wipers, Wagner light and brake, Precision and others. Most all of Federal Mogul parts are made overseas now. Federal Mogul is what I stock in my store for the most part. I believe the quality is still there and they will back their warranties but over the last year or two they have moved all manufacturing overseas. I just wanted to clear up all the rumors. I would not be afraid to use the products on my truck but I want others to be aware of the Moog situation.
  5. The level of sound comes in large part from the type of air filter/intake set up i think. I know when I switched from my AFE cold air filter to the BHAF the turbo whistle became almost nonexistant. It was real noisy with the AFE but it went completely away with the new filter. The AFE was a very thin air filter I think.
  6. Hey all. I know everyone here likes cool little gizmo's and gadgets so I thought I would share this. I think its pretty cool myself.. http://blackwidowv-8.com/ Check out those guys!!! They mfg miniature model engines that actually run!
  7. I tried to!!! Thats when they said they coudnt believe people like me are allowed to buy trucks like this :banghead:
  8. How did you go about making an outerwear? I though about just using an old T-shirt or something.
  9. It sounds like there might be a short in the AD wiring. If you can make the pump run fine with a jumper wire, but not the actual harness...
  10. The only time you want to turn off the mpg mode is for cold starts. If you leave it on, your grid heaters wont run at all.
  11. I would like to keep the NV5600 depending on how everything fit in there. I will probably end up driving my current truck until I dont want to fix it anymore, then use it as a donor truck for the motor, trans, and electronics to go into the chev.
  12. Oh man!! I am a full service WIX dealer and I cant even buy the 6637 for less than $30!! I buy straight from WIX so I should be getting a good deal. It sounds like napa probably isnt making any money on those but who knows!
  13. Thats actually one of my dream builds. I want to put a cummins in a mid 1970's chev one ton dually. Make it a full size crew cab with all the power options and 4x4. That would be one awesome ride
  14. Isnt that the whole reason to buy a diesel??
  15. I dont know of any tuner/programmer that does anything with the PCM unless it has trans tunes. Later on the that dealership tried explaining to me that the ECM and PCM are one unit on these trucks. They also very specifically told me that I have no idea what I am talking about when I tried to tell them they are different units. They were "surprised I even knew how to drive a cummins" with "how much I knew about it". Worst experience with a stealership EVER.
  16. I didnt see much if any mileage improvement when I put my filter on. The biggest thing at this moment for AGPTurbo I think would be to get that KN filter out of there. They are no good. I like the BHAF because it eliminates the stock air box and because of the increased filtering area it lasts a lot longer than the stock filter. I opted out of building a shield for mine because the majority of the year where I live is below 60 degrees. If I towed real heavy like some of these other guys on a regular basis, I would probably look into it. That would depend on how much it would drop the egt's though.
  17. Thats interesting. You would think that old chev would have felt more stable being it had a longer wheel base and the dual wheels. Maybe it was the front suspension set up on the chev vs. the dodge?
  18. Well, we are sitting right at 10 above today. We received about 3 inches of that white stuff last night and the weather man is forecasting about another 6-8 inches by friday morning. As long as it stays above 0, I am all good!! Let the snow fly!!
  19. Maybe it was the difference of rear ends??? Mine is a 3.55 and my buddies was the 4.10 gearing. That alone would not make my example very good because the trucks were not consistent that way. I cant really explain it but I just very much enjoy towing with the NV5600 over the NV4500. Feels like I have more control over acceleration and deceleration. Maybe I am just crazy too Who knows!!??
  20. That camper thats in my avatar pic was a 1974 Monaco. The whole frame was built out of 2x4's and the interior was all hard wood. That thing was a beast!!! Dry i think it was right at about 3500 lbs or better. My SRW handled it pretty well actually. The only thing that set me back I think were my 35in tires and I dont have any airbags or anything in the back. That camper was the old style where the front bunk was angled in instead of sloping back so I dont know how much extra weight that applied going down the road at 65 mph.
  21. If the fuel has gotten into the pump I would imagine the fuse would probably blow almost right after you turn the key on. If there was some debris in there it may be able to pass through the pump before it pops the fuse again.
  22. I really do enjoy pulling with the six speed. I towed a couple of times with a buddies 97 cummins and NV4500. It felt like I was always shifting because of that gap between 4-5. Couldnt find the sweet spot at some speeds. I have to agree with AH64ID about the 7th gear. I really like the six speed for towing but I wish I could have an extra OD for just cruising empty. Maybe a gear vendors someday....
  23. If you wanted to use the edge still you could get a stealth plate. I use one and mike uses one. They are very nice if you want a clean pump tap.
  24. You should be good as long as you dont do a wire tap on the new pump. At least, thats what DAP said. If you wanted to put the edge back on..
  25. Even though the pump doesnt get its power from directly from the ECM, the ECM is still what switches the relay to run the pump. The pump still needs the ECM to run.
