I got some things going one with my leg which hurts like you wouldn't believe. I have a seriously swollen leg from varicose veins and a hip acting up for the first time ever. It's bad enough that I'm goin to the doc for the third time tomorrow. To top that off there is some sciatica in the same leg. It's like an army of hurt even down into my foot. At first we couldn't figure out what was wrong. Tonight is the first time in weeks that it isn't hurting when sitting down. I even got some sleep a little bit ago. God is good to teach me how to treat myself by massaging the sciatica away. It like you find this button and push that area and the pain goes away. It is like Magic sometimes. Other times to no avail the only relief is to go out and ride my bicycle even at midnite with all the lights on outside. Back in bed and all hell breaks loose with pain. Pray for me all you Truck Mugs. I know it will help I know it willl help and the Doc too, to know what to do. Thanks everyone.

I know the feeling to certain degree. Being I've been under a 2 post the weird standing positions you create to reach this bolt or that nuts pays a toll on your body. Time to slow down even more Mike. I know you wired the same way I am we keep working till the job is done but it might come at the cost of your body or health. Just slow down.

Yes we are cutting the hours back. Biggest stress is the homeowner so we try to leave before she gets there........ Different when a check is due.

I go to the Doc again this morning....... will report back.

 Prayer sent.

I feel your pain. I to have lately been dealing with a wicked pain in my right knee. I also visit a chiropractor regularly to keep the sciatica in check the best I can. Pain like that really puts a person down.

I'll be heading to the hospital myself here shortly to have my knee checked out. Getting to where I can't work.

 Get well JAG1, prayers.

Me it mostly all long hour standing under two post lift in weird position because I stand taller than lift can lift. If I work from home its lots of kneeling on bumper and laying over the top or laying under. My next project is a power steering pump. Ugh...

So my lower back and my hips are always sore.

I bet they are mike. I have the same issues minus the lift (wish I had one). I seem to be the family machanic, whenever something's breaks I'm the first call.

LOL... No joke I've got Eileen's Son (Jacob) his 7.3L Ford F350 sitting in my yard with one crappy injector. I'm planning on crawling out in the morning and doing passenger head of injectors in the snow storm that is coming. This should be award winning... Then slide indoors and do the power steering pump and pull my steering box and have it looked at by Ryan. Troublesome output shaft seal. So my truck will be down for some time. Then I got Eileen's son which wants to learn diesel so I've been working with him and letting him turn wrench for me. Small bonus nice to have young blood wanting to learn.

Me... I never got anything done today but two trips to McCall for parts and meds for the family. Now I'm wore out and just trying to get warmed up again. Hips and lower back are sore now and just time to quit for the day and let my body heal a little bit. I'll admit still later tonight I will fire up the cannabis and relax just a bit. Right now I'm going to work on the web site and fix more tidbit and get it running better.

Voltaren is what my mother has been using. She describes it as taking the sharpness out of the arthritis and bone on bone knees and ankles, carpal tunnel too. She is retired on railroad disability because her joints have gotten so bad.

Doc says what I already knew that I need doppler studies on my leg veins. Funny two previous Docs said I might need an Xray on my hip also. So I call my regular Doc to tell him to order them for me and says no you got to come see me again. I just saw him two days ago about the leg :ahhh::think::cookoo::shrug::duh::thud:This medical system what a weird deal.

Thank you everyone.... getting old is like going downhill alright but then MoparMan comes along and puts in neutral with the brake lines pecked to death.

Went to the hospital, diagnosis so far is a torn meniscus in my right knee. Ugh

About 20 years ago I was diagnosed (MRI) with a torn meniscus in my right knee.  Doc said "I can clean that up by taking the damaged part out."   Told him "I'll get back to you."

After 6 months to a year, I don't quite remember,  no pain and has never come back..

Now, my wife had a torn meniscus 'cleaned out' in one of her knees and later had to have the knee replaced.

I had sciatica problems in my left leg along with a degenerating arthritic hip joint and needed a walking cain to get around.   I had the hip replaced and no more problems.

Just back seeing this old friend. I wish you the best and wish I could help you with it. Getting old is a big crap shoot. I got 2 brothers with serious joint issues. One older and one younger. I seem to blessed not to have those problems. Today I go to Lowes to get some sand mix. 8 60 pound bags. Load the car, pay for them then load them in the truck. Sit in the cab for 5 minutes trying to get my breath back. Guess I need to keep one of my MIL's oxygen tanks in the truck. All my best to you.

Sorry to hear this Jag.  You WILL be in my prayers.  I have my own health issues.  Was at PDX ER last week and then was admitted for the night.  Docs had already given my latest permanent checkout date as this coming day before Thanksgiving.  A date (Lord willing) I do not intend to keep.  This was my view a few mornings ago from my 8th floor "suite" at PDX VA hospital.  Hope you are better soon.

I'm not far, can I bring you anything? They can't do my steering box today so I have time if you just want a visit.:thumb1:

Thanks so much.  That's a great offer but after being admitted they took GREAT care of me.  ER can't say exactly the same which I was told on the floor they have heard before.  Reason they kept me was my heart rate was low which is normal for me but not in 30;s low and dropped to 19 couple times.   Should have told them to bring prettiest gal there to hold my hand and probably take care of it but I never knew anything was amiss.  Gave me a stress test next afternoon and I passed it with no apparent issues.  Sent me home with stick on heart monitor that stays for 2 weeks and was sprung that evening. They had pretty good menu and if you had unlimited on it would bring you anything you want in about 15 minutes between the hours of 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM so not bad at all.  Fairly good stuff too.  Was back this AM for first chemo appt.  Not a lot of fun but only reaction I had was hiccups so far but they tell me I will lose whatever hair I have left.  Wonderful..  Thanks for asking, responding and being so willing to take care.  That means very much to me.  My wife has been absolutely wonderful through this and was right with me.  I will keep you in my prayers that you too get well.
