I got a leak at the transmission line coming off the transmission line right at the fitting. I am assuming it has a oring at the fitting. Can I replace just the oring or the fitting? Is thier a c clip holding it on like on some smaller cars? Or does it just unscrew and the whole line come off? Is this part of the cooler or what is this thing?

My truck (99, 2x4, auto, quad cab), is fixing to spin 200K & it occurred to me that I have not done any maintenance on the injectors & I was wondering if there is a cleaning/maintenance interval on the injectors. Is there such a thing as injector Maintenance like there is for Gasser injectors (cleaning, flowing, etc)? Yea I know they are different critters, but they do have similarities. thanks Bob

So, I've noticed a bit of a low frequency vibration lately, usually just after shifting in to 5th gear at roughly 50-55 mph. Today I got under the truck to check my suspicions and sure enough the carrier bearing is shot. Grabbed the drive shaft yanked on it to see the slop around that bearing. Has anyone used the cheaper ones from say O'Riley auto parts or advance auto? I don't want to spend alot right now since I haven't worked in almost 8 weeks so have to stay on the cheap end for now. They both list one for around $25.

Hello all, My '99 is throwing the P0222 code. It can be cleared, but recurs intermittently. The engine does not derate, seems to run normally. Possible causes? Solutions? Truck is mostly stock, but does have a Van Aaken timing box, and a Timbo APPS.

Hi, I was woundering if anyone can help me diagnose a oil leak it started after I had my vp44 replaced on a 2000 5.9. It is just pouring oil out fromm some where on the front of the motor on the drivers side I have tried cleaning the motor to see where it’s coming from. I have already replaced the front seal the crank seal and I have rebuilt the vac pump. I looked around the vp44 checking for a leak but it is dry all the way around is there something I am missing. Thank you

  8. Hello All, Over the years I have jumped around the different fueling boxes. I have uncovered my old edge comp box without the wiring harness. I can get a new harness for $150.00 from Edge but before I shell out $150.00 for the harness I would like to verify my box works. I called Edge and they told me that my box is too old, build date of 12/31/2002, and they no longer support testing of this box but can provide the wiring harness. If someone out there has a wiring harness that they can provide a wiring diagram so I can make my own, or if I could plug my box into someones truck and confirm it works before I shell out $150.00 to buy a new h…

  9. Trying to decide which to purchase, the Frantz filter for 200.00 or the Amsoil bypass, 260.00. The amsoil dealer has a 1999 cummins and has run so far 90,000 miles with the last oil change. He bought the truck to test his products. He changes the filter and two qts of oil every 25000 miles and runs a oil sample once a year. So far everything is good. Any ideas...thanks

Alright, guys so it is a long story but I just finished rebuilding the engine on my truck and got it in and am trying to get it started. It is a 01 with a 6spd. I have an airdog 150 installed as well and many other engine parts. I have been cranking and cracking injector lines and fuel will come out but it won't start. I did, however, hotwire the pump and got it to start and idle just fine as it should so I know my pump is good.. So, that narrows it down to something in the harness or CAN bus wiring. Dont know if maybe I have a bad ECM? I tested the pins on the ecm and all of my power and ground curcuits are good. Looking for some advice and further diagn…

  12. I was just wondering if it's important to worry about the KDP problem on 2002 models? I know they say that some have an updated case cover that fixes the problem & others don't have the fix.....Is the KDP problem very common on 02' models? I purchased mine new in May of 2002 & was just wondering if there is any way to know at all if it has an updated timing case cover?

Just wondering if anyone here has tryed the lucas diesel fuel additive I have tryed it out on my last few fill ups and it has seemed to help my mpg by about 2 or so. I know alot of complaints about additives where they have solvents and such. This lucas pours out like a syrup almost. I was just kind of wondering what the advantages 2cycle oil would have over this stuff. Accept for the fact that lucas is about 10$ a bottle.

Alright you have the normal road noise ( tires on the pavement )the last week or so I have what I can only describe as the same road noise but it is just louder. It sounds like it is coming from the front center of the truck As you accelerate it gets louder. I finally got the boat out for the first time this year and pulled it to the lake. The ramp is unbelievably steep so I just put it in 4wd to drive up the hill. As I am going up the hill I hear what I think is the safety chain bouncing up and hitting the frame of the trailer. I go fishing and then put the boat back on the trailer put it in 4wd and start to hear the clanging again Get up to the top of ramp and realize i…

I copied this from Diesel Addict " There is a diaphragm located inside the VP44 injection pump that is very sensitive. This VP44 diaphragm works best under pressures between 10 and 15 PSI. Some pumps will be able to run higher than that but Thoroughbred Diesel does not recommend it. After changing your VP44, if you notice continued hard starting or feel as though the pump is getting bogged down, it is probably time to check the lift pump pressure. Our recommendation for optimum fuel pressure is 12 PSI of the VP 44". Reason I ask is because I replaced my manual FP gauge with an electric Auto Meter that has a warning light for to low/high fuel pressure. …

Hey,I did the key trick yesterday and the P 1693 codes comes up, but nothing else???? It goes ------;P 1693;------;milage. That's it. I've done this several times and that is all I get... I've even taken it to AutoZone and ran the code scanner and no codes!!!! Any ideas????? Thanks,Winslow

  18. I got the quick connect w/ the big line kit. But it only goes to the filter. So from the filter to the VP44 is the stck line. Does anyone make a big line kit that goes the rest of the way. it doesn't have to be a quick connect. I have a standard cab & the connections were a pain in the neck to find a place to make work. Sort of looks rigged the way I have it. I'll see if I can post some pix!Thnx, Dave

So as long as I remember my truck has always done this, but I noticed this week when it starts to do it. And I'm curious if this is normal for everyone else. Start my truck in the morning and I jump on the freeway. The truck is still pretty cold, so I take it easy getting up to speed. As we all know, these truck rattle like crazy, but everyday, i hit a certain point driving into town where my trucks normal sound get quiet. It sounds smooth as can be all for about10 to 15 seconds, then immediately becomes rattling again.( those few seconds makes the truck sound amazingly smooth) So as I am headed to spokane, it does this normal noise reduction again, and i just l…

I am looking for RV275s and both Vulcan and DAP have them on their site with some differences. Can anyone tell me if these are the same and if so, why the price difference. DAP-The price is $345 and a $100 core charge will be added to that. This also lists as "marine", is that not usable on my truck? It comes with an installation kit, (Injector connecting tube removal tool/nut, copper sealing washers and O-rings for the connector tube). Are those O rings for the cross over tube, is that the same thing? http://dieselautopower.com/bosch-new-injector-rv275-marine-300-40hp-432193635/ Vulcan-$424.99 plus $200 core charge will be added. This doesn't show as marine…
