Anyways I got my truck back a few weeks ago after getting a new block to replace the cracked 53. There was a small oil leak where the stock lift pump bolts to a plate on the side of the block. Fixed that. Then the o ring for the crank sensor was discovered have a leak as well so that was fixed. Got it back from the mech and put a few hundred miles on her and I have now discovered by laying underneath the truck while it was running that I have a leak in the vicinity of the vacume pump. I'll try to get some pics up here tomorrow. I can see oil gathering at the bottom edge of where the vac pump meets the block. :banghead:.

  2. I get an over boost code periodically sometimes accompanied with a cam position sensor code sending truck into limp mode. I can erase codes and may come back the next day or sometimes not come back for a couple of months. It's a 2001 2500 5spd 4wd it has a edge comp box, fass fuel pump, injectors, slightly larger turbo, it has 135k miles on the truck. Any idea where to start?

  3. The Beast NV4500 has a issue with getting stuck in 4th gear. Now I know @dripley mention his shift issue for his NV5600 where the steel tip was worn out and had to replace the shift tower. Now for the NV4500 I've been hanging up with 4th gear if I shift too aggressive from 5th to 4th. If I do hang the shifter up I've got to pull the shift tower up to free it and then shift all forks back to neutral. Then reinstall. When I heard about Dripley and his issue I only looked at the shift tip for the NV4500 and didn't see why. Well my trip back from Parma with the wheels I got stuck in 4th gear again about 8 miles from home. Yesterday morning I got up a…

  4. Here is my deal, My truck was running fine then just died sort of felt like it jumped out of gear but that could of been the loss of power. Refire run really rough only idle no foot feet response. Now doesn't start at all. So what I have learned so far is pump must of went.So my truck is a 99 but I have a pump on a 2001 motor is it the same? I sort of want to be sure I'm 600 miles from the 01 pump and don't want to rent a car and drive that far if it might not work. Thanks

I have been having issues with my truck towing, seems to have a lack of power. Well for the fun of it I ran the 3x key thing on my truck and read the codes on my SuperChip and this is NOW what it is telling me.PCU 1693ECU 0216 & 0234I just had my injector pump tested at a shop in Green Bay only to pay these guys $700+ to test my injector pump, try to fix my turbo that they tell me my waste gate was stuck. Of course, broken bolts and yada, yada a huge bill and they tell me my stock turbo was cracked. So hence, I buy a new turbo $1200 and install the little wire to my map sensor so I dont get the 0234 code (over boost condition). Obiviously the little wires are not …

I see alot of you guys are using the Edge. So, you just plug it in with a splitter to the MAP, and mount it, then you are good to go? How would I spec one out for my engine, being it is not in a Dodge? It was mfg. in May 2000, and the truck is a 2001 MY, truck was built around the same time as well.

Anyone running these guages? A buddy of mine just boughta 01 Cummins and hadn't a clue about the VP issues, I told him to get a guage on soon as he could. He sent me a link to these asking an opinion. I was wondering if a three set up of fuel, boost and pyro comes with everything as in probes etc that you need? http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/98-02-dodge-ram-w-speaker-custom-gauge-package.aspx

Has anyone had experience with GO ECM . com? For a ECM rebuild Thanks Rick

  10. after reading many posts on this issue.. This is a pretty common problem.Ours comes on after it self-diagnoses (after engine start) and before vehicle moves...I'm confused though on this, if the sensors are at fault or inbalanced, wouldn't it cause the warning light to come on AFTER the vehicle moves?? Will do the fuse check and visual inspection of connections here this morning...

Planning ahead right now...truck is all stock, maybe later add little power (not much) ...right now exhaust is 3 inch. What benefits would 4 inch do from exhaust brake to exhaust tip? Lower egt some? Do I have to modify anything? Thanks

  12. Well I now have my first new Dodge 2500 extended cab. 2001 3/4 ton 4X4 5.9 HO HD-6 speed with 100K on a factory rebuild and a total of 183K on the truck. Paid $3500.00 for it but it was rolled over and messed up the cab, fenders and sides of the bed!!! No damage to the frame, engine, grill, radiator and complete drive train. Seats are perfect no cracks on the dash (it was covered from new) and all the lights and tail gate are nice! No way to fix the cab it messed up the door tops and folded the windsheild posts down some. Funny part is the back door windows and slider are OK?? Now saying all this is it even smart to think of changing the cab, hood, fenders and bed on this…

  13. Wish me luck.... I have yanked a starter before, to replace my CPS on my old 99...So I know what thats all about but opening it up is gonna be something new... doesnt seem that hard...I got the new contacts and plunger in the mail today, have poured over threads about it, and it doesnt seem that hard. Starter had been been clicking a few times here in the last month, off and on..and yesterday the starter hung on me for a second...truck clicked, then I tried again, she fired and the starter stayed on...shut it down and the starter stayed on...quickly started it again and the starter shut off...no damage to the starter it all happened within about a 20 second window...but I…

Well, the day's finally come!!! Called and setup my appointment with Jon so he can set me up with a proper transmission! I can't wait to finally have a trans that I won't have to worry about and then I can start looking at some more power! I'll keep this thread up to date on my trip out there and try and snap a few pics here and there and then any follow on stuff once I have the trans installed.

Getting ready to address the kdp soon. At the same time I'm going to clean the radiator, degrease the engine & delete the puke bottle & add a fuel boss. Want to try and get all this done before it get's to cold outside.Questions: I've decided to just unbolt the pulley assy from the block instead of using the custom wrenches to take the fan apart. Is there a gasket between the pulley assy & block? Or can I put it back together with the high quality grey rtv stuff? Same goes for the timing cover. Can I just use grey rtv on the re-assy?I've done the kdp on my first gen years ago, and I recall it was pretty easy but I used a new gasket for the timing cover. A…

  16. Hey all, need urgent help. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted which means things have been pretty good.. just got home and a few blocks away I saw a little blue smoke. Nothing at idle but saw a good amount of oil blew out the crank case vent, about to check oil level now as oil pressure was lower than normal at idle. I figure it got burned on the exhaust cuz the top valve cover had oil from I’m assuming the fan blowing oil everywhere. Freaking out because I’m supposed to be towing a 10k trailer on Wednesday. Gonna check vacuum lines and make sure none came disconnected and whatnot as well as check oil level. Oil is about to maybe hit 5k mark.

  18. Would this mod be worth it... Thinking about installing a manual override switch for the fan. My temp gauge goes to about 210 on hard upgrades pulling my trailer (normal I understand) and wondering if it would make any sense to start the fan earlier (somehow) if so how would I hook that up.

I'm in need of a new dipstick. I leaned on mine and broke the handle off. I was able to get the remainder out of the tube. The tube itself is fine. Just need a new dipstick. I checked @Genos Garage but the one they have says tou have to pull the handle off the new one and put it on the oem metal part.

  20. My brother-in-law in Crescent City, CA has a 2002 4wd Cummins 2500 truck that has logged 175,000 miles. The stock automatic transmission has failed l- no second gear. I don't have any real details of the exact failure. The truck is still stock - no tuner and original injectors. The truck occasionally tows a very heavy 5th wheel (around 14,000 lbs), usually less than 200 miles round trip two or three times a year. He has no near future plans of doing anything different. Sometime down the road he may become a full-time RV-er and he will purchase a truck to match whatever he tows. I was thinking of a quality rebuild with a lower stall speed conv…
