I think its in the app's, when you are going through the gears you can feel a fairly sharp miss occasionally. Its irracic almost like a surge, hard to describe. But when you set the cruise its fine. This is a new to me 2002 bones stock straight axle dually with stock exhaust and never been touched motor. 272k Its strong, the gears are like new no slack 6 speed HO. Thanks Did the key trick to check for codes and nothing came up.

About 3 weeks ago I started to get a check engine light with a cam position sensor code, that I cannot remember the number of, a speed sensor code p0500 and a p1693. It would come up after a hard pull. I let off the throttle the tack would drop and the check engine light to come on. It continued to get worse. It also had a random miss or stumble at idle. It was very audible through the exhaust and it would just do it every once in awhile and is kind of hard to explain. Just a random blip through the exhaust. Then one night my grid heater started pulling down so hard that it would kill my headlights and dash lights. They were kicking on and off randomly off time and pullin…

The easiest way to remember mix ratio for 2 cycle oil for your truck is 1 ounce of oil for every gallon of fuel. So basically if you put 20 gallons of fuel in you need 20 ounces of oil. This will work out to about 128:1 ratio which is very safe to use! Just for information purpose. Cummins authorizes up to 5% of WEO (waste engine oil) to be blended into diesel fuel. Knowing this now you can add up to 1.75 gallons of 2 cycle oil for a 35 gallon tank. But I would only stick to using 2 cycle oil and mixing 1 oz of oil to 1 gallon of fuel...

I raided Wally world last week and bought every jug of 2 stroke they had. $12 and change/gallon.I just put new injectors in my 903, and I want the first sip of fuel to have the extra lube! So, here is my situation, This tractor has 2 saddle tanks, about 110 gallon each. They are connected at the bottom with a 2.5 inch pipe. My filler inlet is on one tank only, (same tank that pump draws from and returns to). I'll pour 2 gallons of wallys blue into the tank (it's about 3/4 full at this time)... and stir the crap out of it. I was thinking about getting a paint stirer chucked into my drill? The fuel cap is 4 …

Well I've been asked about mixing other additive with 2 cycle oil quite a bit. I tend to tell everyone there is no need truely for the other additive. But lots of people still want to added a other product to the 2 cycle oil. I've got a rule of thumb that will help... Only mix 2 cycle oil with a lower HFRR additive to help improve the lubricity. If you mix with a higher HFRR number your lubricity will be greatly reduced. To show this just figure the average of the HFRR number of the products you want to mix... Like for example lots of people want to mix PowerService and 2 Cycle Oil. Let me show what happens to the HFRR number... PowerService --- 575 HFRR 2 Cycle Oil -…

I am trying to gather information on the flow rate at full power but the info is very scarce, though it is on the side of everyones block. So what I am looking for is the Flow Rate "MM3/Stroke". There are 3 VP44 models in the dodge trucks as far as I know. The models I need info on are the: 245HP 6Spd HO 215HP Automatic I already know the 235HP SO 5spd from Mike. If anyone could help me out, that would be great! So for example, mine is 103.. That's the info I am looking for. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Modified%20Pics/mm3.jpg

This was a very heated and debated topic which I'm will to bring back up and report. I'm at 68k miles on the fluid. I've ran for 2 or 3 winters now and have zero issues shifting. Fluid operated greatly in temperature to -35*F and zero issues. I just checked the fluid level and color and it still like it was poured in from the bucket. Clear amber color and discoloring yet. By early summer I'll have 100k miles on this fluid and will check again on the color I might push past the 100k mark if the color is still bright and clear. Now that I'm travelling 250 miles every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday hauling @MoparMom to Dialysis treatments in Ontario, OR I've ha…

I got stuck in some mud the other day, went to shift into 4 wheel drive and the shifter just floats freely feels like it is not connected to anything. rear wheel drive still works fine. is there a linkage that may have come apart or broken? and most importantly is this something i should attempt to fix with my limited mechanical ability, tools and knowledge or should i take it to a shop. i had to be pulled out by a ford...very embarrassing!!! Thanks in advance for any help or advice you have to offer

Bet my morning is worse than yours! Started up the truck to go to the gas station for a drink. Coasted out to the main road, pressed the skinny pedal, blue smoke, no power. Turned around, went back home, checked for codes. The code that we do not want shows up. 0216. Guess can't complain, 190k miles on this pump. If I am going to have to prime the fuel system after install, then it is a good time to replace the injectors! Time to look at all the info for a pump replacement and injector installation!

I want to publicly thank you Mike for this forum and all the work you have put into it. I have needed to change the injectors in my truck for about a year and a half but I could not ever get enough ahead to make that happen at a shop (1200$). After ready this forum and studying as much as possible all the procedures I said screw it I am gonna do it myself!!!! Took me about 5 hours but I was quite happy that I managed to do it myself and it would not have been possible without this forum and all the members..THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):)

Has anybody tried to hook the Mopar switch up so it automatically changes to 3 cylinder high idle with a remote starter? I can see forgetting to change it from mpg to 6 or 3 cylinder high idle. Has there been anybody whose tried doing this and was successful. Or am I alone and gonna have to figure it out by myself.

Wow! That was easier than nailing jello to a tree! I just completed do my first VP44 install. To tell you the truth its easy as hell to do and takes just about 3-4 hours to do it taking your time. I will be updating my orignal VP44 install write up in the near future. There is a few notes and shortcut I found to make the install much easier. Sad part is I didn't grab my camera... (Should of!)

I recently installed the mopar1973man high idle kit and it has worked out great. But i have noticed once I turn it off and let the truck idle for a while it will idle up again to 1200 rpm. It this normal after having my 2001 flashed with the smarty due to it being programmed into the system now. I live in clearwater florida and the days i have noticed this have all been above 70 degrees. Do you guys and gals think I have an issue, operator error, or just part of the new system flash. Any help as always is greatly appreciated. 2001 2500 quad cab shortbed 24v cummins 47re tranny 6 inch lift with 35x12.5 tires
