Anyone know where you can get parts for a 47re. Had a cooler line fitting break off and can't locate one for threaded lines. Only one I can find is for push in lines which I don't have. Called the local dodge dealer but got more help asking my dog about it. :banghead:

Hey guys I have a 99 Ram 1500 with a 98 24V and 47RE. I did not perform all the swap. Problem is trans wants to start out in 2nd? gear in D. Sometimes you get first manually. It has 3rd. OD?. A lot of info pointed me to the governor solenoid and transducer. I changed them, still the same. I was told ecm was swapped and repinned. Where can I find some solid info on diag procedures? I've looked into a full manual valve body ,800$, and tried finding a standalone controller,1400$! Looking for advice. Thank you

I'm having torque convertor locking/unlockin problems. It happens between 40-55mph. At first unlocking was very fast, maybe one second. Next day unlocking lasted couple of second at time. I know something about ac noise, can it really cause that or is there something else wrong?? Any ideas where to start?? Brake light switch, output shaft speed sensor?? Thanks in advance!

Just rebuilt my 47re and have a couple problems going on. It is slipping with the TC locked, no matter in drive or overdrive. Fluid level keeps going down with no leaks and not going into the antifreeze like a cooler is blown out or something. I have already put 16 quarts of oil in the transmission and it is showing a quart low again. Just put in a stock overhaul kit, a shift kit in the valve body and a single disc billet converter. I'm kinda lost for where to go next other than keep dumping fluid to the thing until it quits going down.

Well this may be more of a general question. Will the driveshaft and rear wheels turn if my truck is up on jack stands? Just finished installing the BD solenoid upgrades in my 01 2500 47re and Im not getting any movement from the driveshaft in any of the gears. Doing a lot of work on the truck which is why its up on the jack stands.

I'm sure all this has been covered before buy this is my first CTD so here we go:#1 my tranny seems to shift into OD too soon after hitting 3rd. It shifts into 3rd around 2000-2200 rpm's and almost immediately shifts into OD. the Rpm's drop from 2200 to 1400-1600 when it shifts. Is this normal? Is there anyway to prolong the shift into OD to help keep the power and rpm's up?#2 is it ok to pull small(6000-8000 lbs) loads in OD? It just seems that on the highway at 60+ mph that OD off is just too rapped out. Is it safe to pull in OD at those speeds?

Looking to re-torque my trans oil pan bolts but I keep finding different numbers. Looks like the FSM calls for 125in.lbs but looking through some other threads on this people recommend going slightly above that? Just looking for what you guys would recommend. Also, looking to change the fluid in the rear diff. I have a dana 70 with the LSD metal tab on one of the bolts. FSM calls for 3.4l but I've heard overfilling is ok/better? That true? Also what type of fluid should I go with in the rear?

I am reaching the point where I need to have my 47re rebuilt. Im leaning towards a suncoast triple disc converter, shift solenoids and a built valve body. I am also going to use the most reputable diesel performance shop around do the work. Does anybody have a ballpark what it costs for labor on a job like that? Thanks

Is there any way to adjust the shift points on a 47re trans? I've thought it would be nice for towing if it would shift sooner and tonight just for kicks i did a couple 0-60 runs and it badly needs to shift sooner for that. It took 10 seconds to hit 60:doh:

I've got a 98.5 24v 2WD and 47RE auto, 175k miles. When I first start the truck, it takes a long time for the trans to shift from 1st to 2nd. After that, it shifts fine thru all gears after a stop sign, light, whatever. If I turn it off and go into a store or something, when I come back and start the truck again, it takes a long time again to shift from 1st to 2nd. After it does, it shifts fine again. So, it happens whether the truck is cold or warm and only the first time after I start it. My last fluid/filter change was about 25k ago. I have a slow leak that I haven't found yet (I have seen tranny fluid on the ground behind the right front wheel) so I keep the fl…

As the title states. My 47re actually shifts a lot smoother when it’s cold. The shifts can be quite hard once its warmed up especially in light throttle conditions. I’ve tried google but can’t find anyone with a similar issue.. I have a suncoast triple disk, dynamic VB, and all the billet stuff. Other than the trans everything else on the truck is stock.

I've had an issue with my truck never shifting properly, but I never really addressed it until now because I had always assumed it was the stock trans that was on its way out and was in need of adjustment. However, since I installed a brand new revmax last week and the truck shifts exactly like the stock one did, I've been chasing down issues to source this problem. What the truck is doing: -Only starting in 1st from a complete stop. Even if I slow down to 2mph, the truck will still in take off in 3rd unless I give a lot of throttle to force a downshift -Short shifting 2nd gear... 1st gear will take me to about 10mph under light throttle and then 2nd…

Does anyone else experience their transmission shifting into reverse uncomfortably hard while in low range? Mine shifts great in high, but 2 is pretty hard. Is this in part due to my low stall torque converter? Will installing a upgraded valve body make this worse?

Hello, I just finished rebuild my 47re on my 2001 dodge ram 4x4 cummins diesel. What I have done: I changed all the piston servo with billet aluminum ones. put a transgo diesel shift kit, alto red eagle clutches, changed front and rear bands. A new torque converter and changed the cooler lines. The transmission shift in all position but it's like slipping . When I'm starting from a stop when cold I need more throttle to move the truck and when it's warm it's less slipping. I put a gauge on line pressure and in drive not moving I see 80psi but when I go on throttle the psi doesnt increase? is it normal? I'm thinking of throttle pressure adjustment on the valve body?…

My transmission has lived ALOT longer than it should under my foot with the comp on and up. I drove it heavily on 5X5 for several years before learning the possible weakness of the tranny . I did buy it used and the comp was on it when i bought it but that was all for mods when purchased. just wondering if there is any way i can find out if there was any performance upgrades done without me having to tear it apart completely? i did pull the dust cover which didnt tell me squat and the torque converter does engage in third regardless if the OD is on or not....6 changes in rpm speed through 4 gears (TC engage in 3rd, unlock, shift to OD, reengage). i just h ope somebod…

Not too worried in fact I kind of like it but I'm wondering what causes my problem. My TC doesn't unlock when I let off the throttle. Go on the brakes and it works OK. when it gets down to about 20mph (in 3rd) it unlocks by itself and sometimes if I blip the throttle it will unlock. It's like having a free ATS Copilot. It did this awhile ago and then cleared up for a year and now it's back. Shifts fine otherwise. I'm thinking APPS or something throttle related. Any idea's?

So I know it's been asked but I can't find the answer to satisfy my question. I got a quadzilla with the trans temp gauge in the port in the passenger side of the trans. It's starting to warm up here finally. 74 degrees and I was in the drive thru waiting on my wife's food. Well the temp kept climbing to about 157. I know I was sitting still and the temp came back down when I got to moving. But I don't remember it being that high last year. Maybe I just can't recall right or I am just being paranoid. However any help or calming words would be awesome! Lol. Bout 20 mins of driving and the temp is starting to show going down the road. Max is about 130-140 ish going down t…
