  1. I love the way a stick shift pulls but my 98 has the 47re. It was rebuilt just before I got it with supposedly heavy duty parts from a shop in Phoenix. I called the shop with my serial number and they said it was there heaviest duty tranny available. Now to my problem,I hate how this thing feels soft or mushy between lockup. Sometimes if I slow down almost to a stop but not quite, it will stay in second and just wind up really high without really gaining speed. Really anytime the convertor isnt locked it just feels like im not putting the power to the ground. Is this just the nature of the beast or will a good tripple disk TQ fix this? I drove my buddies 04 Dmax the other…

My truck was running great then all at once stated to miss/loss of power. Pulled into a fuel stop found oil everywhere(gasket on lifter/pushrod cover spewing oil)have determined these were not related. Would 1689 pop up because of ECM being unplugged? Think I have a bad injector,so going to take them into get tested.

How long do you have to keep the batteries disconnected to drain the computer, in order to reboot? I need it to be rebooted so that it will shift out of 1st gear (automatic trans) without removing the relay & manually shifting only giving me 2nd, & 3rd gears.

  6. Ok so I've been battling a hard starting issue. When it sits especially if the fuel level is lower and the nose is uphill it cranks alot before firing. I tightened all the connections and don't see any leaks. Can one of you guys video your fuel psi gauge on a cold start up so I can see how your truck reacts? Mine will sometimes jump to 20psi for a brief half second while the wait to start is on before cranking and then it will drop right down to 0. I have started bumping the starter without starting the engine and allowing the pump to prime the system. Then letting the preheat cycle do it's thing. It seems to start better when I do that but not always. This is start…

I got into my truck this morning and the tranny seemed to feel like it was slipping when I started from a stop. This continued all the way to work, which has several stop lights (~12 miles). When I got to the last light, I shifted into low and it hooked up perfectly. It was rebuilt about 1k miles ago and sits a lot (haven't driven it in about a week).

So on my 2001 the water meth controler and manual boost gauge match right up. The iQuad shows 1psi when the other 2 are reading 5-6 psi it starts to read closer once I’m above 30 psi. Bad MAPS sensor? What do y’all think

Did 400 mile today into South West Wales to drop of my house build reciepts for a tax accountant to process my tax reclaim... we get 20% Vat back on new build house materials costs, my truck must have smelt the £££ as on the way back in lockup OD accelerating a little uphill engine seemed to just stop for less than a second but then back to normal with a clunk as the trans was driven again.... that is the best I can describe it, just like a manual trans and coming off the throttle and then straight back on it , I hadn't got the Modis with me so couldn't check anything, but no codes on dash, I don't think the trans is dropping out of drive as engine revs do not rise…

So ever since I installed this new pump and switched all my pricol gauges over to the new to me 02 3500 cab and chassis the pump pressure has been 21psi. I switched the 17psi spring back out for the 15psi spring and dropped it 1psi. With my foot in it it will only drop to 19psi. I have a new gauge coming to test my gauge but was just curious if this has been heard of before? I talked to AirDog and they werent very much help due to simply it is what it is until the new gauge says its the pump. He did mention cutting coils off the spring but I think the pump should go back if it comes to that. Thanks

I have a 2001 Ram 2500, 4WD, 6 speed. The cruise control indicator is always displayed on the dash, even before the truck is started. None of the cruise control buttons do anything. So, the cruise isn't working. I took the truck to auto zone and they reported that the truck wasn't throwing any codes. I attempted to contact dripley because he seemed to have this same problem, but his account no longer accepts messages. My best guess is the clock spring. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Does anybody know where i can get a fuel return line, other than Dodge or Cummins?? Also the "T", Fuel drain manifold? Also does anyone know if there is a check valve in the banjo fitting in the return line to the head?

So after I did my head gasket and installed ARP studs I have a valve cover leak on the back of the head. I've heard about having to clearance the valve cover for the studs but I can't see where it is hitting. Anyone done this before? I bottom tapped the holes so I didn't think it was an issue

I'm not sure if I can post this here, but I really could use some help. Sadly my father passed away in November and left a little debt that I'm trying to pay off. I'm trying to sell his truck But me nor my mother have any idea what to ask for it. Nobody has seemed to be any help so I thought I would try here. I have had several people Make offers on the truck the last being $2500. It has a little over 200000 Miles, runs good. The top of the dash needs to be replaced And the paint Has areas that seem to be peeling But the inside is in good shape. It is a 3500 24 valve Turbo? My dad loved this truck and he would not be happy if I didn't get close to what it was worth. …

Quick question, 98.5 24v. PO fitted a aftermarket fuel transfer pump, not sure what it is as not had a close look all i've done is fix the guys mistakes up to now, he removed the factory fuel filter and fitted a cheap *** inline filter before the pump, I've had the truck over a year but not really used it much because of this inline filter and as I work on large diesels for a living I'm not too eager to start when I get home especially as I work 12/6 and I fully get the no restriction fuel flow deal oh and I'm building a house in my spare time, I've fitted a cat fuel filter off of a 9.3 so my filter has no restrictions. The pump is bolted to the block where the facto…

Alright, so ran up into the forest yesterday for an evening trip. Out and about traversing the mountain roads, no problem. Got dark so headed down. Got to the highway and the truck did something funny..I got to about 45-50 and it sounded like it was making a quick and short rev. As if I was the one doing it with the pedal. I slowed down, turned the comp off, checked the trans. temp gauge. All was well. Sped back up, got to the speed again and did it again. This time I fueled it more and it went faster and shifted after that.Stopped by the sister in laws, which was about 10 min. away. Visited for about an hour or so and then headed home. Shifted fine and turned the comp ba…

  19. Allright guys. Just as I was getting happy with my truck and trans... I decided to fine tune the TV cable. The last time I messed with the cable I got better results than trans shops. At home I wanted to adjust the tv cable and broke off the clip .. also managed to lose the clip no were to be found. I jerry rigged the cable to get to work. Shifted a little ugly but I expected this. Then my check gauges came on and my voltage dropped to 10 volts. Then down to 0. Made it work fine.. Checked the codes : P1682, 0622, 0743, 1765 ECU P1693 I know they are tranny codes but I need to know if I fried anything. Can i disconnect batteries clear code…

  20. I've spent the last two days working on the install of a new hx 35/40 turbo and pac brake unit. Today I finished up and went to start it with no luck. It initially ran a couple of seconds on numerous attempts to start it and then just completely quit trying to fire. Details: A few weeks ago I installed a kill switch in the grounding wire of the fuel pump relay. If I forget to switch the hidden switch to "on" it spins over but won't start and throws code 1689. Today, the spinning but no starting reminded me of the result of the kill switch being in the off position so I wired the relay back to stock configuration to rule out an issue with the switch with…
