I just made a run from northern CA to southern Oregon. All was good on the way up but on the way back I noticed some surging, especially when at light throttle on flat road or off the throttle going down hill (coasting but still running 2000 rpm) . I switched tunes from my MoparMan mileage tune to the tow tune and no difference. I also hit the overdrive button and no difference. Fuel pressure was always 15lbs or more. By the time I got home I had a check engine light and it was 0236, Map sensor. I have cleared the codes numerous times and I might get away with driving a hundred miles or so with no code but the surging continues. A day or so later, the code comes back. …

Go all the way to McCall RV Park in McCall Idaho from my home in Grass Valley, Ca and I still get calls from a friend whos 01 Dodge sounds like it lost a VP44. Problem is he’s in Olympia Washington on a trip with his Travel Trailer also. Seems he installed a Air Dog some years ago but did not install a fuel pressure gauge to monitor it. He called me this afternoon and said it’s bucking and surging and has no power. Has a check engine light on and a p0216 fault code so I looked it up for him since he has no smart phone or laptop with him. Called him on my cell and gave him the bad news. Guess I’m going to be installing a gauge for him after we both get back home.

So I got a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 24v. Put all new injector lines and vp44 on Saturday. Drove truck all day Sunday while shutting off/ restarting multiple times. Monday rolls around and drive the truck to work, go to leave work 12hrs later and truck won’t start. Have to bleed lines to get it to start. Tuesday morning have to do the same thing. Tuesday evening can’t get the truck to bleed and notice the gauges don’t work and LP won’t turn on by key. Come back Wednesday morning and truck fires right up and everything works. Get codes 1389, 1899, 1492, 1693. Go to leave work later that day and truck fires up and I let it idle for a couple minutes while I do stuff and get in to …

Bout time to reset valve lash and I haven't found anyone's previous post about what they recommend. I am setting the lash for my new stock motor for my 99 at .10 and .20, but is there any recommendations for durations of a motor with 100hp injectors and a quad with wiretap? Anything helps, thank you!

Hey guys, Im set to move across the country in 2 days and I have been finishing up work on my 01. I took it for a shake down drive last night and everything was going well until (fortunately) right when I got back near my house. It starts to surge and stutter and wants to and does shut down. I took it for a short drive the other day and I had the same issue. I chalked it up the Hot Rod VP that WAS in it, because it was giving me a really hard time loping at idle and low load. I went ahead and switched out the VP for a DAP SO unit, since I had wanted to switch back to an SO anyway. I finished that up along with a new cam sensor, and she started and run beautifully. So…

Good evening to all I hope you have your favorite beverage and snack for this one as I've gone down a deep rabbit hole trying to bring this truck back to life so here we go! -----Short story, if you are having blower issues and the troubleshooting has basically stopped check the interior fuse panel to ensure you are getting good contact with your fuse, having an add-a-fuse can spread the little keepers inside the fuse holder creating an interrupt at the ignition source for the blower relay (pin 86 I believe).-------- In the process of fixing one of the numerous issues with my recently purchased 2001 Cummins I was at that moment…

So feeling like a bit of an idiot for trying this project during a very cold weekend which is contributing to my install. Not my first time upgrading injectors. However, can’t get 5&6 injectors to seat. Can’t apply enough pressure to push down on them and as they near the back can’t swing a mallet either. it’s just about freezing so fighting the cold metal and moisture in the air which is making it doubly hard. Anyone have any experience or tips to seat these? Can I use the hold down rocker arms and and torque the hold down bolts to seat them? Dumb of me to try this in the cold but hey.

Custom AirDog 150 Install Doing a custom AirDog install I think the hardest thing that people struggle with is getting the draw straw installed properly in the proper place. First of the draw straw should not be installed in the sender basket. The reason is the return fuel from the rear of the head is heated by the heat of the head and that will be the first fuel you going to pump back to the VP44. We all know that you want cool fuel for the VP44 this is a bad idea. Second, your draw straw needs to be installed in the fuel tank away from the sender where the hot fuel is returned. I typically use the high spot just forward of the sender which typically has no other int…

So today I installed a brand new quad Adrenaline v2 with iQuad I drove the truck for 3+ hours with no issue with pedal response.. later on in the day while driving the volt gauge bottomed out. I pulled over looked over everything and it all appeared fine. I went a few places with shutting the truck off and starting back with no issue. I get home truck sits for 1+ hours I go out to install the egt probe after getting required bit and tap. I start the truck to a CEL I pay no mind as I idle into the garage. After I install the egt probe I start the truck and go to give it throttle with no response I check the DTCs to find the P0223 I follow mopar mans diagnostic with no luc…

I have just build a 2006 Ford E 350 van with a 24 valve cummins / Allison trans and a 4x4 conversion. I got the engine from an auctioned truck (2001) on the title. Have it running and driving but in limp mode so far. Cam sensor code, After alot of messing around I called cummins and they told me the engine number and ecm p/n are for 1999 but my harness wiring colors tell me it is off the 2001. I have both diagrams printed out and seen the number 9 pin was empty and should be for the cam signal on a 99 so I got a pin from cummins installed it tagged into the grounds and 5 v with a new pig tail and hooked cam and crank up as I think it is meant to be but still throw cam co…

Just moved to the area ( Lawrenceville ). Normally do all my own work, but currently living in an apartment while looking for a new home. Unfortunately, apt does not allow residents to work on their vehicles here. Currently having extended crank time/loss of prime/ECM issues. Looking for a knowledgeable, honest tech in the area to work on my 2500 who knows OUR trucks and systems. Would be willing to travel for the right guy if rate is reasonable. Any help or direction is appreciated. Meanwhile, everyone have a great holiday and stay safe. 98 1/2 2500 QCSB Auto 2WD 5.9L 3.55
