I can find all the normal gaskets, turbo to manifold, oil out, oil in, boost out ect. The gasket I can not find for the hx35 is right next to the waste gate and before the cast elbow that attaches to the exhaust pipe. It has an irregular shape with 5 bolts. Exterior measurements of 6 X 4.5

I blew an oil seal out of my 62mm the other day, and rushed in a rebuild kit from Southeast Power Systems. Rebuilt the turbo today, and it's leaking worse than before! Question now becomes does anyone know where to source a genuine Borg Warner rebuild kit? Google has been of no help to me, as all I am finding is crappy aftermarket kits that I know will suck

For the second time in three years I believe my ECU is headed south. A few weeks ago the truck didn't want to start. I checked the grid heater and had more than the recommended resistance between the terminals. I had power to the relays with the wait to start light just no power coming out. Fusible links are good. Now the problem as I understand it is I have 12 volts to the relays with the wait to start light on. When the wait light goes out, I should have zero volts to the relays. I have seven. If I have more than zero it sould be the ECU according to the service manual. I now have IAT sensor voltage codes, fuel calibration error codes, etc. Now the million dol…

I have narrowed down my power issue to I hope what is the ECM. I get a lack of power at consistently 35 mph+. The guy who did this swap used the ECM from the manual 2001 and it had some sort of tune on it that no one seems to know. Just trying to find someone to flash it back to stock and start my troubleshooting from there. My local dealer said they do not do any electronics like that for my year of vehicle.

  5. I have two 1/8th pipe fittings in top of my fuel filter one is towards the side and one is closer to the center. I am guessing you want the fuel pressure that has just passed through the filter correct? If anyone has pictures please post so I don't mess this one up. Thanks CD

Wednesday i drove my truck around all day with no problems. I pulled up to Dollar General about 2 miles from my house, got my stuff and came back out to go home and the truck wouldn't start. It just turned over. Tried multiple times but no start, just keeps turning over. So i called a buddy to come tow me home. I'd say about 10 minutes later as i was waiting on him, i tried to start it again and it fired right up with no problem. So i drove it home and shut it off, started it again with no problems sitting in my drive way. Friday morning it started up with no problems, drove it about 10 miles and came back home. Truck sat for about an hour, I go out to start it up an…

  7. Ok, for those of you who dont know me and my truck observe. I will start by saying my truck is cursed, some here would agree some will tell you he's not a good enough mechanic. My fuel pump is a Airdog 100 when new it ran about 15lbs of pressure at idle, wot it was 14.50, one year later it drops to 13lbs at idle and 12.50 wot. Ok I have other problems other than that but we wont go there yet. So I just accepted that was normal, so while trying to fix other issues one step at a time ( replacing everythink one peace at a time till I fix it or it will be stock again ) I started with fuel pressure hose from pump to isolater. No leaks no cracks in line no slite fuel on fitting…

Okay guys my next purchase are going to be batteries.... Exciting I know but they are getting weak enough that if I don't have the truck plugged in, the grids pull them down too much and the starter won't spin fast enough to start the truck... Had this happen to me the other day which sucked b/c the folks and I were going to go into town to shop/eat. My question is, what do you guys recommend for batteries? I've had decent luck with Die Hards but I'm not 100% sold on them in my '75 Chevy. I'm thinking about Autozone Duralast Gold top b/c they are well priced and easy to get. Plus they've got a good warranty and I've had great luck with them in my '71 VW and one of the Cum…

Fan clutch has gone bad and need to get a new one. Which fan clutch does a good job at a fair price? I don't want an electric fan. I drive the truck only 4k to 6k miles a year and the pay back in fuel savings, if any, would be seen until after I'm dead. I've check the price on Hayden ( $102 ), NAPPA ( $122 ), and 4-Seasons ( $143 they must be real proud of theirs). So what have you put in and how do you like it?

  13. My truck is mild when I bought it it had a Banks stinger package intake, exhaust, ottomind box. And has in tank lift pump. So I'm going with a Fass Td-08-095g and a sump feed is this the part number I need or should I get something else ?thanks.

When looking up the tightening specification for installing the bolts that hold the flywheel or drive plate to the crankshaft I found two different values. In the engine section under "Crankshaft Oil Seal - Rear" the tightening torque given is 101 ft. lbs. In the "Automatic Transmission 47RE- Torque Specifications" chart the number given is 55 ft. lbs. One of these is a mistake; which one is right?

My 99 QCLB has 315k on it and is on the 3rd lift pump. The previous owner had the fuel pump replaced by the dealer the first time then used a big rig shop's replacement similar to the carter. So far it has been working great. The big rig shop also installed a fuel pressure dummy light which comes on only when with the wait to start is there. One of the banjo fittings on the VP44 is where the dummy light has been installed. Once the truck is running it never has come on. I mostly use the truck for hauling a little 7x12 utility trailer, camping, and pretty much any other excuse I can use to drive it. Reading through the different articles I see the first upgrade I sho…

I might have made a mistake in my build purchase. First and foremost, I've got to deal with CA smog checks. It was mentioned to me that techs were now looking for Holset being listed on turbos. I know this is dependent on individual techs and most would not even bother. I'm pretty sure the place I go, this wouldn't be an issue. But you never can tell when this would change. I really gave a hard look at this "Super 9" a local company builds . I'm second guessing my decision not to go with this. I don't really care about HP numbers. I care about towing a 10k lb travel trailer through mountain passes. I have a mildly built auto, 3.55's running 265/70/17 Michelin's. I'll like…

I have used a 150-amp fuse on the last three W-T mods I have done and want to try a circuit breaker on the next one. So my question is which 150 amp circuit breaker did you use that is trouble free and where did you get it.

So I got the billet convertor, BHAF, muffler delete and D-box all installed. Truck is working awesome but I want to change out the injectors as I believe they are still the originals and have 440,000kms on them. I keep seeing RV275 listed, are those a 275 horse injectors or 40 over stock? I was thinking of getting injectors from Pensacola off Ebay but read some bad feedback on them on this site and others. So I think I will go with some DAP injectors but I'm not sure which ones I should get. I will eventually get a real programmer that taps the pump, but will probably not change out the stock HY turbo. Are the lower HP injectors worth it or should I just go bigger t…

Hey guys, Now I know iv'e been over this particular topic before but iv'e come to view some new info regarding lift pumps well new to me anyway lol. So I was vewing some threads on here and came across the Assassin lift pump, and read that these pumps actually increase pressure with RPM's which of course I really liked that, and the fact that there a mechanical pump. Also during my discovery i read that in order to install this pump you have to replace the draw straw. Is this something that absolutly has to be done with this style of pump? My original choice was a Raptor 100 but also viewing some threads on here I discovered that the new owners of AirDog F..... them up so…

Ok so i was in an accident about 4 months ago and the truck is being totaled by other partys insurance. Ive only had it a year and i havent made a big dent in the loan so after its paid off i wont have much left to play with so i am gona be looking for a new truck. I liked having the 6spd. I dont want to go to low on year. Wana avoid the 53 block and KDP problem. I had great mpg on my truck so wana stick with same options. I am willing to hear some advise and opinions. My question is is a 5 spd better than the 6spd. I know that the 6 spd have the Dana 80. Anyways what shall i get?? Im currently thinking about this one. http://www.canyonstateauto.com/inventory/view/56186…
