Hello, I am writing to get help; I fitted a Cummins isb235 5.9 24 valve of 2001 on a toyota land cruiser hzj74. I connected the wires of the controller as reported on the forums; the engine light comes on and the car walking but not more than 80 km/h. the engine revs very slowly and it shows that at some point does not increase further rounds because the unit removes the current. The electrical connections are made; I have assembled only the engine; the engine have a plug with 50-pin and 2 plug harness from pin 11 and 14. I have no obd. Of the 50 pin I connected 48-50-15-35 with the positive and 30-49 negative battery; in the 11-pin plug I connected 7-1 …

So I got home from a trip to California for a week and came back to find out my truck seems sluggish for some reason! I’m not sure why it feels that way maybe I’m just dreaming? Fuel pressure is good. Boost I’m making like 3 psi at 35mph in 5th gear. Is that too high for just cruising?

My truck has the stock crankcase breather bottle. It is making quite the mess and getting oil all over the underside. Got a few questions however as when I am sitting on level ground at a stoplight I see smoke coming from both sides of my truck. I can take my oil fill cap off and smoke comes out of that hole and I see smoke coming from my crankcase breather when I shut my truck off. It appears to be smoke coming from my crankcase breather but I wanted to make sure I possibly don’t have a bigger issue since I am getting smoke coming out of the valve cover oil fill hole. I don’t recall this issue previouslay but have noticed a stronger smell of oil as of lately as well. I d…

Had a wreck-replaced front clip, final phase is headlights. It's a daily driver so put salvage yard stock housings and some old Sylvania's in to be legal. Getting by with a pair of LED fog lights for back roads. Of course I'd like to upgrade. Hopefully to an LED that is not obnoxious to other drivers, or having to overhaul the whole system. Kind of limited on time, but performance and quality are priority. My thought is to convert from 9004's to 07's or whatever else that will start me out with a better bulb. Then it's between halogen and LED's, and reflectors or projector housings. I have the harness to go to quad bulbs but I believe the computer needs to be flashed. If …

Haven't posted before. Just realized I've been wasting a great resource. Hope I can contribute somehow from now on. I have a 2002 dodge 2500 cummins HO 6 speed 4x4 ref cab long bed, factory leveling kit stock truck, 290k plus miles, no mods. Throwing codes 0500-1693 I live in southern Oklahoma and making a run to the east coast with a trailer. Fixing to leave and Speedo and cruise go out, lift pump quits, never had heat but figure I'll be needing it. So I'm trying to get them all fixed before I go. Heater is probably blocked as both lines are warm going in. fixed some leaks in the air line so doors finally working. Had a lifetime warranty on an autozone lif…

I was on a long drive home across Canada for Christmas and at the end of my drive my truck started bucking a little bit, at first I thought it was just running a little rough so I limped it the last 50km's to my parents. Look into it a little and saw the APPS reset and tried that. The next day I hop in to drive it to town and it idles fine when I am warming it up for 10min, I start to drive it and I can tell something isn't right. Bucking at any engine load, Surging up to 2500rpm when I put the clutch in, sometimes to the point it seems like I was going to break a motor mount or run away. (Never any dead pedal though, I could put to the rug and she wouldn't h…

I have been having some issues on with hard steering at idle, along with intermittent 4wd, and slow, or non responsive heater controls... I have been trying to track down vacuum leaks, but havent come up with anything, but a very tiny line with a break near the passenger side firewall... I am wondering if the pump may be bad? I did find a receipt in the truck for a new PS pump installed in 2015, and I know the guy only put about 2000 miles on the truck in all that time... could one have something to do with the other? are they a single unit? Thanks for the info, and help guys!

Hi All, New member here, and relatively new Cummins owner. I have a 1999 24V, pretty much stock with 140k on it that I've owned for about 6 months. Last night I had an assortment of problems pop up and I'm not sure where to begin the troubleshooting process. Unfortunately it appears to be electrical, which is my nemesis. The truck has been running great, no problems starting in cold weather, no smoke, etc. basically just runs great. 2 days ago I was in the process of moving and had my friend drive my truck home since I had the Uhaul. (Don't these problems always happen right after someone else drives your truck?) We drove about 200 miles, hauling a pretty he…

So I’ve been having A/C issues for a while now and haven’t had the chance to really track it down. It’s got to be leaking somewhere as I’ve had a shop charge the system, add frion and such, and within a couple weeks it was back to blowing like warm air at best. Had to use one those cheapie Walmart cans to boost it back up over a weekend trip with the fam, knowing I’d need the cold air and that it’d leak in less then a week. I’ll be home in a few weeks and want to start tackling this (along with heater core swap) but before I start buying parts, are there any places prone to leaks I can check right off the bat? If worse comes to worse I’ll drop it at a shop an…

What Fuel temps are you folks seeing? I want to use 1/4 inch air line left over from putting in air bags. Going to install a test port off a Airdog DF-100. Tubing also known as "Air brake" line. Which is nylon I believe. Best I can see online nylon tubing starts to fall apart around 200 degrees? I have 190 or 195 thermostat. Tubing is stamped SAE j844. Well with in psi but not sure about temps. Any body know what fuel temps we are dealing with?

He found out that he has an electrical draw of 2.8 Amps which is running his batteries down. He has disconnected the power wire from the driver side battery to the Power Distribution box, disconnected the Alternator charge wire from the PD box, disconnected the Alternator feed wire from the Alternator, removed the aftermarket stereo, removed every fuse and relay from the PD box, unplugged the trailer plugin receptacle, unplugged the ABS module, unplugged the PCM, and from inside the fuse box n the driver side of the dash, and his test light will still stay lit. He has unbolted the PD box from the left inner fender and turned it upside down and vis…

Long time lurker, first time poster. Bear with me fellas. I purchased a 2002 with a flatbed for 3k (thought I was getting a decent deal) with wore out tires, an overcharging problem and a relatively bad oil leak. I knew I was going to have to dump some coin into the truck but now the frustration is getting to me. The first weeks I had the truck I didn't do much besides clean it, the guy I bought it from abused the truck to death and didn't fix much of anything. The guy would unplug the alternator, drive to work, plug the alternator in at lunch and let it charge for a bit and then unplug it and drive home. Who knows how long he did this for. …

Hi there guys names Rick, I’ve had my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 for about 4 years now. Since I bought the truck the oil pressure is well above 40 pounds when I first turn truck on. After the truck temp gauge goes up the oil pressure drops below 40 at idle, if I give it some fuel oil pressure goes up. I saw a video of mopar1973man on YouTube explaining that it’s an electronic issue between the two sensors. Is there a fix for this? Thanks for any help in advance

My 2001 dodge cummins has been testing me some lately I had an air dog 100 fuel pump on it and never could get pressure to settle in pump finally gave up so the guys at air dog replaced it no charge( which I think is awesome customer service by the way) any way put it on and ran great for about 150 miles then I noticed my pressure would jump up and down not staying consistent and truck did what I will call loped rpm would go up and down and pressure gauge jumps accordingly. Then i couldn't get my heater to blow out of vents just defrost so figured vacuum hose not hooked up also 4x4 sometime engages and sometimes not the 4x4 light does not light up. so messed with…

Hello, new to the forum. Long time reader. I’ve been reading up on everyone’s mileage per gallon and I’m embarrassed. I can pull 12-14mpg empty. Mostly highway miles, running in my level 1 fuel economy tune. Granted my truck having wide wheels and being leveled doesn’t help. But 14mpg just isn’t right. I was wondering if anyone had tips or tricks for me? I drive pretty nice to get these numbers and I want to do something about it. I know there isn’t a 100% way to get 20+ mpg but I should be getting better than this don’t you think? All my mods are in my sig.
