Got Out of the truck and went in the house. Had to come back Out to grab some firewood. Noticed the brake lights were on. The front marker lights are as well. Checked the selector switch and changed nothing. Can't turn them off! Wtf, what's going on....

So, I replaced the track bar today. Not a bad job really. But once done I went for a ride and now the steering wheel is turned to the left. The center isn't up and down now but about half way between level and up and down. I've read that one can fix this by adjusting the drag link that runs from the pitman arm down? Or is this a total alignment issue? I'd rather just fix it here if possible. I don't know why this would have moved anything provided the specs of both old and new bars were the same. (Which obviously isn't the case). The bar I removed was a moog problem solver. Keep in mind the truck has a bit less than 160k on it. So I assume this would be the 3r…

I installed my heated leather seats but still haven't wired the heating part of them. The seat is out of a 2001 gas truck and mines a 2002 diesel so the harnesses are different. I'm just wondering how aftermarket heated seats work in relation to I believe you just wire a power source to them, but what tells them to shut down after reaching a certain temperature? I'm wondering if I can in fact just power the heating element and not worry about it burning up if it's not wired to the computer of my truck? Would make it a heck of alot easier if I could just do that

Hi All, I found a column from a 67,000 mile Steering Column on Criagslist, while looking for a Driver seat, tailgate, Bumpers... Parting out. So I found a column out of 98-01 Truck Gas 5.9 . So I assume that I have to swap the ignition switch and move the Overdrive off button over. Anything else I should know going into this? I have replaced the Clock spring with an OEM in my truck and it still makes noises while turning, at 320,000 nothing surprises me. I've read where there is a Bearing replacement at the bottom of the column, with a bushing, so I'll eyeball that prior to replacement. How robust is the intermediate shaft? No complaints I've added a Steering …

Ok, yesterday I had a couple of issues, didn't want to keep running during cold start. After getting the engine warmed up and batteries totally charged, and warming up the suction screen ahead of the FASS drp, it fired right up and ran fine... I then proceeded to drive it back to my house from our shop. 1 mile. Got home and noticed a weird buzzing noise coming from under the hood, and immediately shut it down and popped the hood... the electric motor on the abs system was racing away. Even with the key off. It was starting to get warm, so I just unhooked the plug going into the motor. …

When I pull the IOD fuse I hear a click where the seat belt lock is. At that point the seat belt is locked. When I put the IOD fuse back in there's a click and then the belt is free. So in other words it takes power to keep the belt in the free position. Is that normal? Seems that would be a drain after a while. My truck usually only runs on weekends.

I replaced my compressor today. Been working fine at idle on the job. But drive at rpm for quarter mile and the cold air goes away. Pretty much figured the clutch was shot and slipping since the clutch could not keep up with engine rpm after a short drive. Never made any funny noises and worked fine parked. Took the old one off today and here is what it looked like. A touch off center don't you hink. Plus it was leaking some oil which that I attributed to the engine. Anyway I drained the oil from this one and got an oz and a half maybe. Wish there was a dipstick for situation.

I was lucky enough to have my brother visit me this last week and he road in the truck with me a few times. Usually my truck steer's pretty good but it seems like im constantly moving the steering wheel a little side to side. MY brother weighs probably 350 or so and with him in the passenger seat my truck has never handled better, it just went straight and I wasnt moving the wheel at all. What could I do to get this all the time without putting sack-crete in my passenger floorboard?

Edit: whoops. can someone move this to non- powertrain? Thanks Hey all, Ive had this forever, but its been on the backburner. I figure some better minds could help. Airbag light, new clockspring fixed cruise control, no dice on light. Cant figure out how to pull codes for it. Dont know where to go. I looked at a 99? Wiring diagram posted here, showed the ACM hooked to something called a seat belt module. Supposed to be under center seat? Nothings there on mine, or harness, so dont know if was deleted? Mine is a 2001. Also theres this terminated plug under the air-filter. Dont know where that goes or what it does, a…

I replaced the condenser in the '00 couple of weeks ago, (the one that looked extremely suspect after the deer strike). Finally getting around to pulling it down and recharging, hopefully this weekend. The system wasn't totally discharged, but I replaced it anyway. What is the rule of thumb for when a particular component is replaced for amount of oil to replenish? Thanks

My lift pump (Raptor 100) is not coming on...the idiot light came on just a mile away from my home so pulled in the driveway to check it out. Not hearing the pump cycle when I bump start. Did not see voltage on yellow wire or illuminate a test probe light during 25 sec bump. Truck starts and idles (from little lift pump in vp44?). I'd like to test continuity from the ECM plug to the lift pump but don't know what pin hole is the right one? Or any other suggestions? Really appreciate some help! Thanks,

I ordered towing mirrors off amazon last year. Got them in and installed them, I hook them up and tested both sides before putting everything back together. Both worked, Installed them, Passenger side still worked, but driver side didn't. Emailed company they sent out another set, error happened and I got 1 correct and 1 for a 2010+ sized mirror. Emailed them they sent out another set and they were correct. months go by and I didn't have the need to change the mirrors out as i already had them adjusted to where i needed them(folded down) I did some trading with a friend and traded him the mirrors that were messed up for a leveling kit and some cash. We took old ones off a…

I have been wanting a heated seat for some time, especially after driving a jetta with heated seats. Anyway long story short is a got the whole front and rear leather seats. Power and heat on both sides. have the switches that go in the dash. Also got the storage tray under the back seat and the woodgrain dash. I guess my question is...how much grief is it to get the heat to work. My drivers seat is power and that was plug and play. This is probably going to mean I need a wire harness...ugh. Regards Chris

as long as I've owned this truck the driver side seat heater has never worked. with some basic trouble shooting I've looked at the connections, looked at the switch, checked fuses. All I get it the switch light will blink on the HI side of the selector. With the switch light blinking that leads me to thinking the heating pads in the seat itself are bad, but I could be wrong. Has as anyone else had this problem?

I just changed my heater core and I went ahead and changed the ac evaporator. I have leak somewhere in the ac symtem I haven't taken the time to find yet. I didn't use the ac at all this summer. Winter is coming so I figured I'd wait to spring to fix it. My question is will it hurt anything by leaving it empty with no freon while running the heater and defrost? I've heard that the ac might cycle on when the defost is on.
