When rolling up my driver's side window, it'll start to chatter about half way up, or right when that leading corner hits the weatherstripping. Has anyone else experienced that? Do I get some silicone lubricant in there? Or replace the weatherstrip?

Alright, so I got a laundry list of items I have for the truck and one of them is to service the rear brakes. I have not done drums in years. Last night, it took me like 2 hours to get one side back together. Let alone, I think I did it wrong. :banghead:If any of you guys have pics of both sides, I would appreciate it. I think I have everything on right, except the shoes. I believe it matters what shoe goes on what side, right?I became a cussing man again last night, which I did not like. Bought new spring hardware, etc. and man they are STIFF! I even bought a brake tool and its not even worth my time, stupid thing!Gaaaah! :ahhh:Also, I'm draining my brake lines and putti…

I was working on the truck today and seen this in the vent by your feet. I am thinking it is the door for the defroster? I think this has been off since last spring because I remember hearing something rattle. I could never figure out what it was. I did not notice anything unusual, but I have it set to blow air out at my feet 95% of the time or I have the windows down.

Once again I got that darn blasted ABS and BRAKE light again. I knew the driver side front sensor was repaired. What had happened was the outer jacket of the ABS split open after being flexed enough times that it broke. So the driver side was soldered and shrink wrapped and tapped up well. So I pull the driver side thinking it was damaged and unwrapped the repair and everything was fine. So I broke out a DVM and set it for ohm setting. Sure enough the driver side was right around 1,000 ohms. Hmmm... So quickly yanked the plug on the passenger side and ohm that lead. I got infinite ohms (open circuit). Now start from the sensor and right about the knuckle the jacket did th…

Hey guys, I'm not 100% sure if the drivers side rear door was replaced (no vin tag) or just put back together after installing a new speaker without replacing these tabs but it's loose, and I want to get new ones so it doesn't rattle. Anyone know the part number or where to get them? The yellow tabs in the pic

So, I got 35in tire probs (yea boohoo I know) which I love the look of, but hate the aftermath aka crap all over the truck! Don't get me wrong, it definitely ups my street cred and makes me look like I'm a total mudder off roader, but I'd rather actually go do that purposely instead! Anyways, I have a good 3-5in (just from memory and eyeballing) of tire hanging outside of my fender. I'm not a fan of flares so that's out of the question. I've seen the duraflaps, proflaps and all the other pretty expensive ones. Anyone have any other ideas? Or can post pics of their home made flaps? Oh and also...

  13. So Right now I have tow 2nd gens. Both 4x4 5 speeds. my 99 has always had an issue with power steering at idle mostly. I replaced the pump with a Borgeson, all new power steering lines with a filter, red head gear box, synthetic fluid and rebuilt the vacuum pump while everything was out. I still have barely any power steering at idle. I even modified the Saginaw pump by drilling a larger hole. my other truck with an all original power steering pump, lines etc has had 37s (back to stock now) and it could turn those tires without an issue even at idle. I am beginning to think the truck with the issues has a hydro boost blockage of some sort.…

Since I recently bought this truck (see sig) I noticed the PO had installed the left front wheel cover incorrectly. The center hub cover is on right but the large dish that covers the wheel itself is off center. Do I have to remove the lug nuts to straighten this cover? I haven't messed with it yet but planning on it later today just because it's irritating me. Lol I believe these are factory covers but not sure. I'll try to zoom in on a pic and post it.

Got in the the truck this morning, stuck the key in and off she went. Stopped and bought coffe got in and the key went in about 2/3rds of the way and got stiff. I had play with it and push in to get it to turn. Figured as many starts as she has on her it is time for a new switch. I also noticed that the turn signals can now be turned on with the out of the key in the switch. So I am thinking whatever electrical switch it operates must be showing it's wear also. Anything else in there that y'all know about that might ought to replace whilst I am in there? Or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree?

Alrighty, first things first, I'm new here and fairly new to the cummins truck. I run under the same handle on cumminsforum.com. Ok, here's the issue. About a week ago, did a bit of a brake stand, tripped the P0500 code and the P1693. Those were the only two I could get on the odometer readout. Just got a scangaugeII yesterday and hooked it up today. Can't pull any codes with the scangauge, P1693 still on the odometer check and P0500 gone (even after trying to trip with a small burnout). I understand the P1693 is a companion code but I can't get anything else to come up on the odometer and nothing shows up with the scangauge at all for codes. Small…

This kinda stated in a different thread but I thought I would post what I've done here instead of hijacking. There was a discussion about rust proofing and weather protection including the use of undercoating, fluid film and the old fashioned used oil concoction to combat rust and corrosion. Since I've been off work for a bit due to a knee problem I have been getting antsy and needed to get outside and tinker with something so I decided to try the used oil truck that was mentioned by @Mopar1973Man in another thread. I have plenty of used motor oil here on the farm (approx 35 gallons of it) so I mixed some with diesel to thin it out enough to be sprayed throu…

I shall trudge on just not as happy as before so, after a 4 month recovery I was able to restart progress on my ram last month, its got some of its new forest green paint (toyota FJ special edition) and it looks amazing. I was hoping to share a story on the build of the truck as well as informative pictures for your own projects. Unfortunately 5 days ago my laptop crashed due to hard drive failure, nothing was backed up. I lost all 20 thousand-ish pictures and documentation to aid in me putting it back together again. Obviously not all where from the truck but at least a thousand were, none the less I shall move forward. As far as progress goes the cab and …
