Hello, i have a 1997 ram 3500 Laramie plus package. So I have the tan leather interior with wood grain which I'm told is very rare for a 12v truck. I found a truck at a local junk yard that is a 1997 that has factory keyless entry and I was wondering if anyone ever added factory keyless entry to their truck or if someone has a wiring diagram of how the keyless entry is wired. I basically want factory keyless or no keyless entry. I'm not really into the aftermarket ones, it might be the easier route but that not what I want.

Hey all,New guy here. Just got the truck in my sig from my dad. One thing it doesn't have is fog lights. I looked around a little behind the bumper but didn't see harness endings where the lights would be. Should they be there? Also, will the plugs for a headlight switch with fog controls be behind the switch? We get lots of fog during the winter in this valley and there are more deer than people, so I'd like to add a little light on my dark commute! Thanks guys!

Hi guys my brakes are finally on their way out. I would like to re-do them with high quality parts. I am having issues with caliper pistons not returning so i am looking at replacing all four calipers, pads and disks. Does anyone have recomendations on brands or products?

  6. My bed has firewood in it, not much but my regular springs are a little weak and when I hit big divets in the road the suspension slams the overloads up into the rubber things that the overloads touch when being used, it sounds like the tailgate fell off when it does it. The plan/theory is that by ditching the overloads and replacing them with air bags that it will solve the issue. I could care less about anything fancy, I don't care if I have to get under the bed and air them up by hand. I hate those overloads and always have. Any ideas on where to get the bags and which ones to get? Cheaper the better but I'd rather it be cheap because I air them up by hand rather t…

Does anybody know what the stock wheel load rating is, for the rim? I ordered some after market wheels rated at 3,200 lbs per wheel and now I'm worried about them not being beefy enough. I'm mainly concerned about the integrity when the truck is loaded up/towing. They fit the bill when calculating GVWR per axle, but after doing some research on other after market rims they are in the 3,400-3,600 lb range. I'm just curious of what other people have run into...

I've had the truck back from it's lastest trip to the shop... Before the air vents contols worked. Now, it only blows on the windshield (defrost position)... both hot & cold. I think this is a vacume line. I don't know where this runs but I bet it's damaged or fallen off.I'd really like to have my truck worked on & not have new problems when it comes back.Russ

Noticed this when I was changing out my carpet for a new carpet, water everywhere, everything is sopping wet and I had no idea! Where could this be from? It isn't antifreeze, just water. Probably something to do with the a/c system. Maybe this is why my truck fogs up on the inside so badly. Please help so I can get back on the road!! THANKS!!! ---------- Post added at 02:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ---------- OH also was thrilled to death to notice the shifter boot is torn... Is this serviceable or does Dodge sell this as part of the nv5600 only? hahaha, kidding. But seriously, how much would one of these be? I am glad I noticed this…

  10. As my signature says I have a 1998.5 24v Cummins. I want to list the build sheet and mark what I already have done. I would like you thoughts on hp/tq numbers I could possibly see and Different brands or routes to go with different parts of the truck. Also would like opinions on my taste for the appearance of the truck. = Purchased/On Truck = Tab is Open On Computer But Haven't Pressed Checkout. 11. So I have a plow that has been around for about 14 years it is an old boss v plow I have mounts for my truck and a ford theses are two separate factory made mounts for the rt2,,, I plan on setting up both trucks for the plow mine as a back up for when the ford breaks down. I have done this before and understand that my plow frames are bolt on items for both trucks but still require drilling a couple holes in the frame for example Boss says for the push bar rear support to drill 3, 9/16 inch holes in a 4 inch x 4 inch area now I know why those bolts are there but my question is would one 4 inch bead of weld that can be ground off be better than Swiss cheesing up the frame?…

So, as I feared, the truck is still struggling to maintain highway speeds with erratic engine load. Watch the video on 1080p..you can probably hear the truck revving and dropping, but even if not, you can watch the engine load on my obdii cell phone in the top left gauge (shout out to moparman for sending me his obdii gauge file a year ago) and you can see the needle all over the place trying to maintain speed. 0-52, 25-50, etc etc..it's revving hard, dropping, revving, dropping. She as it used to. One curious thing I noticed while doing all that electrical stuff..is there seems to be a random wire, probably #18, going from a body mount in th…

Was looking to replace the intermediate steering shaft on my '02 Ram 2500. All the adds state that their shafts fit 4WD but my rig is 2WD. Anyone know for sure if they're the same. I'll list a Dorman shaft I found on 1A Auto: DORMAN Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft: 425-264. I'm aware I can go to a Borgeson but am going to stick with a stock shaft.

I have replaced EVERY component on the front end of my truck. Tie rod ends, DOR track bar, shocks, springs, ball joints, steering box, and u joints. How is it remotely possible that I still have death wobble when going over certain over passes and bumps on the expressway?

I searched the forum before this post but still not clear on this type of headlight. I was looking at these to replace mine due to the usual fogged lense, anyone on here know anything on these or have them? Wonder if they're just install and wire to the ground and live via wire tape, or is it alot more to it then i'm understanding? basically want to know if this is a good way to go or not http://www.k2motor.com/94-95-96-97-98-99-00-01-dodge-ram-halo-projector-headlights-black-tm.html

Hello everyone, want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving especially to MoparMan, IBMobile and W-T for adding so much education to this site. Special mention to Dripley who always provides Chicken. Sorry , I know the rules...... couldn't help it. Anyhow about the overloads, what is the best way to get the overloads back inaction as I have Air Bags on the truck that does not let the overloads help and the air bags sometimes bounce the truck side to side like crazy. I'm thinking bump stop extensions , but don't see how they would last holding on for dear life with just one bolt holding each one. Thanks for any thoughts

I’m taking of the black tape between the front door and quad cab windows. What is a good glue remover that won’t hurt paint? I’ve tried acetone. That stuff won’t come off! Thanks!

  19. I’ll admit I don’t think I really understand the relationship between the batteries, alternator, battery temp sensor, pcm and the check gauges light. Yesterday I was doing a heavy pull with my winch, on 30 seconds off 30 seconds, and my check gauges light came on. The volt gauge was below 8, and I waited a min and it ever came back up. I assumed I’d blown my 200 amp fuse between the alternator and battery. I checked the fuse and it was fine, looked at the gauge again and it was back to charging (so 3-4 mins between check gauge warning and normal charging again). Every component in the charging system is in new/better than stock condition. All positive/ground cables are ne…

  20. Well I tried using the members ride page but it would not let me post on my stuff. Also I like hearing opinions about my truck so Ill make a blog here and just copy what Ive done to here from cummins form then keep it up to date! --- Update to the previous post... Well its been a month or so Ive not been on DB. Been to busy with finals and work. But I thought instead of a bunch of posts about what all I did to the truck Ill just make one super giant post. First off I finally got my sound system installed to the truck. A sony Headunit with usb and aux inputs 6X9 Rockford fosgate 3 ways in the doors 6.5 Rockford fosgate 3 ways in the back doors (I bi…
