2001 24v cummins. I started having this problem a couple weeks ago. I've changed both speed sensors. I've pulled rear diff cover and checked tone ring. I had batteries checked and had one bad one so I changed them both. I've checked ac voltage from alternator. does anyone have any ideas on what to check? 20191011_162736_1.mp4

I finally got around to finishing my on board air system. I now have 3 5 gallon tanks and 3 Viair compressors. 2 tanks are supposed to be from some kind dump truck other is ebay. 1 compressor is a 380c and 2 are 444c, all rated at 200psi max. My pressure switch shuts off at 150psi. I can once again run air tools from the truck. Theres also a horn behind the front bumper that really comes in handy around here.

Gen light came on a few days ago so I pulled my alternator and it tested bad. I replaced it with a cheap reman and it still wasn't charging. Today I notice that the 30A engine control fuse was blown so I replaced that and started the truck. Bingo! Everything was charging as it should. I took the truck for a victory lap around the neighborhood and the fuse blew again. Popped another fuse it to see if it was a fluke and it popped too. Recently I have installed HID headlights, but don't believe those are the problem because everything worked fine for a week or so... on the same day as the headlights, I also installed a new bumper. There were a couple of gr…

I want to safely lock up two long guns in the cab of my truck. The storage solution must be lockable with a high security keyed lock or a pad lock option so I can use my preferred lock. Bicycle cable solutions are not acceptable and while not 100% necessary concealment is preferred. What is out there? Everything I have personally seen is either pistol related or specifically for third gen trucks.

The auto down function for my driver side window quit working today. It still rolls down if I hold the switch though. Is there a relay I can check or is it the switch that goes bad? I know it's trivial, but I like hitting the auto function so the window can roll down while I put my seat belt on. It's the little things.

So I was backing my trailer into a super tight spot on a job and got distracted and kissed my mirror on a fence post breaking the mirror glass. Right now I have on after market mirrors (EFXMRDOD98HET) as you can see here: https://www.carid.com/replace/pro-efx-driver-and-passenger-side-power-towing-mirrors-mpn-efxmrdod98het.html I haven't been able to source replacement glass for them, and I am also unable to source just the passenger side mirror with the options I have on (heated, power, with the clearance light). So right now my options are by another full set for $475 or by a different OEM replacement for $370. The guy at the parts store said its for a 20…

I Have NO trailer wiring harness. I am in need of a 7 way, with brake controller. I plan to buy a 4 way, simple factory plug into brake light, style connector. Couple that with a universal 4 way - 7way adapter. I DO have a factory brake controller plug under dash behind the e-brake area. Most instructions point to wiring the B+ and brake control wires directly to the controller and battery respectively, adding 40amp fuse for B+. I have found the factory blue controller wire and the B+ wire, already connected to a 40A fuse. Both wires are terminated at the 2 wire harnesses located behind the drivers side fender well. One harness has the blue wire on engine side of plug wit…

Hi all, I’m having an issue with my 1997 dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins. Issue started after I let the truck sit over winter months. The issue is when I turn the key to the on position my ASD relay along with the trans relay in the PDC tick very fast and loud. The ticking is accompanied by all my dash lights flickering to the same speed the relays are ticking. The truck starts and shuts down with the key, just won’t go into drive or reverse. Everything worked great when parked. Thanks in advance for any info\advice. Also this is my first post so not sure if I put it in the correct place. Be nice and steer me in the right direction if I posted incorrectly!

Hello. I'm searching second best option for headlights. I know retrofit with morimoto projectors ate the best but $$ is the issue at the time. Any decent aftermarket housings available? Looking for good low beam, high beam isn't so important! Already have enough auxillary lights so I can see far! Also has to be with two bulb housing because my trucks headlights have been modified to meet European standards ( Hella projectors in high and low beam ). Light output is is junk!! Low beam has now H7 bulb and high beam is HB3 bulb! Sorry long story but dark times are coming and greetings from Finland!

Hi, Dodge Manual states: 8Qts. to Lower Safe Mark 10 Qts. To Upper Safe Mark. Using ESN I looked up my Dip Stick number 3935648 and it jibes. It also showed 10Qts of oil. I change my oil as follows: I bring Engine to operating TEMP Pull it into shop with a Level Cement Floor at end of day. Place pan. Remove Drain Plug Let drain all night. The next day: I replace drain plug. Prime and Change Filter Replenish Oil. Problem/concern: I am only able to put just shy of 9.5 Qts in total, back into the Engine to bring it to the UPPER Safe Mark. Ive driven truck several miles, and it’s still at t…

While installing my timbo apps on my 01 I accidentally grounded the number 3 pin like it says not to. I finished it up and got code p0122 so I cleared it. Did I hurt anything by grounding it or am I fine?

Incase anyone wondered how they fit or looked inside the truck, they seem well built and should last a long time. Fit tight along the lines of the seats so they don't slide all over getting in/out or pushing clutch in.

Since putting bigger tires on the 3 tons of fun, I don’t have the clearance for over the spring bags, So the hunt began. I went with firestone F2220 bags, they go inside the frame and and ment for a 2001 dodge 3500 cab and chassis. according to firestone, etrailer, and a few other company’s they shouldn’t work. But they do with minor modification. ended up elongating the airbag mounting holes by 1/4” and they you can clear the lip on the frame that is bent downward. If you wanted to you could grind out this one spot where the inward nut sits (which is the reason to modify) but to each there own. I didn’t want to cut the frame. Once up t…

Three cardone units later I'm asking if ANYONE has had good luck with a particular remanufactured hydroboost. I need one basically immediately. That said, I already tried rebuilding it just to find it had mechanically failed (scarring on parts I can't get). I even tried to rebuild the units that failed only to find they all suffered some sort of assembly error and needed hard parts I don't have. If anyone has had good luck, point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance. Oh and move this if needed, not sure if powertrain or not.

So it seems this is the summer where all the problems start showing, leaking p.s. pump, passenger axel seal leak, front brakes, and now tie rod ends. Not enough time in a day to adress it, but will be making time here pretty quick. So I know there is a 4th gen conversion I can do for the t style setup, but is it worth it? I still have 16s on my truck, so I'd have to grind off a knuckle or two for it to fit right? What's the price for one and who would be a reputable vendor for it? And are there any problems to worry about with the 4th gen setup? Like recalls and such? Other wise I saw Luke's links has all four greasable on…

So my batteries were new 7 years ago.... they need to be replaced. they dont like holding a charge for long (couple months or less) and i think they are actually mechanically failing. I have had a battery tender on them for the past month in winterize mode to keep them fresh but even that showed limitations, as when i started today i could tell they were not as healthy as they should be. i went to the dump to drop off metal and while there i had to shut down for 5 minutes waiting the scale lady and when i restarted it just cranked over for about 1.5-2 seconds longer then fired up (i noticed no dash power until it fired). as i moved to the metal shed at the d…
