  1. I cleaned my batteries only last week because they were showing leakage, white powder which dripped down and built up on the fender well. I cleaned all of that up but, now only a week later it's all back again. Only it's worse this time because both batteries are now doing it. I even coat them with grease. Both batteries have never done this before and I'm always in there checking and cleaning the terminals and connectors when needed. So what gives with this? New batteries? Thank you for any thoughts, Mike

Been thinking about this idea ever since I made my rear bumper. My spare tire has always been in the bed, it can't fit in original spot because of 5" exhaust and the tire holder rotted away long ago. So I've been studying up on this idea and looking at different setups. Comp4x4 sells heavy duty hinge kit but currently closed due to moving. I thought about using bushing stock also but not set on that yet, then there is the trailer hub/spindle idea. Just wanted to see opinions, good, bad.... not only on what to use but the whole idea in general Edit Some ideas https://www.google.com/search?q=bumper+tire+carrier&client=ms-android-verizon&a…

My drivers side seat heater has never worked, I get the flash indicating a break in the circuit somewhere. I try to keep everything factory so I started working on fixing it yesterday. I couldn’t remember why I hadn’t done it sooner. Well I’m a jackass…now I remember why I never tackled this project. Long story, I’ve ordered a new bottom seat cover. Does anyone know of an aftermarket heat pad that will work with the factory module? Any suggestions on salvaging the oem pad or should I just suck it up and install an aftermarket pad with a new aftermarket switch?

Here is the one issue I have since doing my gear swap. I also replaced my WIF drain on the filter canister before this started. Intermittently but frequently upon braking the pedal will get hard and my brakes will do just what they do When abs kicks in if you try to lock up your brakes on ice. What could have caused this?

I have a friend that just purchased an 01, the fuel gauge is off by about a quarter of a tank so he ran out of fuel. Ever since his fan switch only works on high. I have not tried to pull any codes off but his 'cel' is not lit. Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Jonathan.

I read somewhere that fuel pressure has to be 7-9 p.s.i. for the engine to start and higher pressures will cause a hard start condition. I also read the ECM controls this by rapid on/off pulses in the circuit to slow the lift pump pressure down for easy starts. After the engine is running the ECM knows to keep a steady voltage to power the lift pump or in our case, to trigger the relay used to power the lift pump off the battery. If this is true shouldn't we be changing the lift pump relays more often, often enough to keep the contacts in new condition? As I understand it, the constant use of a relay has a greater chance of poorly connecting, burned contacts f…

Noticed this when I was changing out my carpet for a new carpet, water everywhere, everything is sopping wet and I had no idea! Where could this be from? It isn't antifreeze, just water. Probably something to do with the a/c system. Maybe this is why my truck fogs up on the inside so badly. Please help so I can get back on the road!! THANKS!!! ---------- Post added at 02:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 PM ---------- OH also was thrilled to death to notice the shifter boot is torn... Is this serviceable or does Dodge sell this as part of the nv5600 only? hahaha, kidding. But seriously, how much would one of these be? I am glad I noticed this…

  11. I ordered a Firestone air spring kit for my truck, installation appears pretty straight forward. I had a question about the air hose routing though. I got the optional "T" fitting as I mostly need the kit for leveling while pulling a trailer. I want to mount the schrader valve near my tool box on the passenger side of the truck close to my compressor for quick easy filling. Will it matter that the air lines from the bags to the "T" are different lengths or do I need to have them equal with a central meeting point?

Pass. side tire is wearing on the outside. Actually both are but pass. side much worse. Wheel is centered and truck goes down the road straight. Didn't notice any worn or loose parts. Before I spend a day in the alignment shop I wanted to try myself but not sure which way to go?

I've got a plow for my '01 2500 QCSB, but haven't installed it yet.. It's a listed weight of 650# (8ft poly). I'm about to put a 2" leveling kit on this week. I've got 200# of ballast for the bed (suggested by plow manufacture, to be placed 8" from tailgate, inside the bed), but I'm curious as to what else I need to look into, prior to hitching up..Suggestions?

I have seen a few trucks with 2 holes drilled in the exhaust manifold and one always has a copper loop like a still. What is it? Why? You can see it here: http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/26-engine-systems/482-holset-he351ve-install-retrofit-2nd-gen-cummins

Anyone know the torque spec for tie rod ends? You can grab a hold of the tie rod with your hand and flop the thing back and forth....not the normal kind of play I'm used to seeing, but I guess I should replace it...def feel it at the steering wheel. Probly go ahead and do the center/drag link also. I hate to get the parts at autozone....but they are open and got it in stock.

Ok. Everyone knows I just replaced my front two ABS sensors. Here is what happening now. Start up roll out slow speeds less than 40 MPH the ABS and BRAKE lights remains off. Once I exceed 40 MPH they pop back on. I can pull over shut off the truck start up again and start rolling out and the light reset again. Once over 40 MPH it trips again. My old sensors works fine but had been broken in the leads. I solder and shrink tube then a few times and always was able to get the light back out. As for the rear speed sensor it dead on with my Garmin GPS so I really doubt I got a bad rear sensor.

Replaced the seal on my truck while the driveline was being rebuilt, was pretty meticulous about prepping the surface and using rtv to try and seal everything. Got the driveline back installed and took it for a drive and is leaking worse than before. I used an impact to remove and re install the pinion nut and used a new nut. I’m wondering if maybe I got the wrong seal? Through my reading I think there is a flanged and non flanged yoke, and I thought mine was non flanged. Also wondering the removal process for the breather tube as thinking that could be part of the problem. Thanks Also I used a speed sleeve on the yoke to repair the pinion sleeve and this is the se…
